Today's thread is on the affiliate business model. Many years ago, I used to be an affiliate marketer. If there is any way to get schooled in marketing, becoming an affiliate marketer is probably the best way.
What is affiliate marketing and why should you care?
Read on >>
1) Affiliate marketing is selling products or generating leads on behalf of other companies and getting paid a commission for those products.
2) Some notable examples you've seen before:
NerdWallet - you read their articles on best credit cards. You click on a link to one of those cards. You fill out an application. They get paid for delivering that lead to the cc company.
3) In https://t.co/kSfWS69ybp - same thing. Any of their financial products -- you fill out an application, and https://t.co/mCrBT43mOj gets paid for that.
But the affiliate revenue model applies beyond financial services products.
4) Wirecutter -- you see a neat product they review or talk about. You click through and buy.
Wirecutter gets a cut of that transaction.

1/10 I detest Warren simply b/c she's an inconsistent, low IQ, lying opportunist, & her "wealth tax" idea. What the majority of her stans fail to realize is that wealth doesn't mean money. Now she's on the wagon attacking retail investors-plebes. How do her actions hurt farmers?
2/10 Let's start w/ wealth tax. I believe I'm wealthy, but not in the financial sense. I have a loving family, patriarchs who taught me self reliance & the value of hard work, I've worked hard to get a good job, I have the most amazing fiance, I could go on but this is my wealth.
3/10 Yeah, we have acreage, cattle & goats, flocks of chickens, tracts of crop land & a fleet of 50+yo equipment/implements that have been purchased & repaired, then repaired again. We make modest salaries from our day jobs & are fiscally responsible. Farming isn't get rich quick
4/10 though, it's a break back life that sees you lucky to break out 15% in the black on your yields averaged. How does this wealth tax idea impact us? We already pay property taxes, fuel taxes, personal property tax on some equipment, income taxes when I report sold livestock &
5/10 crops, income tax on land leased to other folks, capital gains are applied to leased land too, then we have to title & tag the farm trucks that touch the road in any capacity, sales tax on supplies, feed & seeds, then sales tax IF I need to buy goods back. At the end of the
Casino-like swings in stock prices of GameStop reflect wild levels of speculation that don\u2019t help GameStop\u2019s workers or customers and could lead to market instability. Today I told the SEC to explain what exactly it's doing to prevent market manipulation. https://t.co/NWaZe1jFVb pic.twitter.com/MAbjHcq47i

1/ Learn more about the @USPS, its leadership and Louis DeJoy in Bill's conversation with Lisa Graves about how Charles Koch marked the Postal Service for privatization in the early 1970s and how he is using the Koch empire to push his political agenda to this day.
2/ She pointed to a recent report she authored for @PubInterest about Koch's efforts to popularize the fringe idea of privatizing the Postal Service and to capture the agency.
3/ When regulatory capture occurs, a special interest is prioritized over the general interests of the public. In 2006, one of his pro-privatization allies "James Miller was rewarded with a post on the Board of Governors for the Postal Service."
4/ "And from that perch in 2006, he pushed through this bill called the Postal Accountability and Efficiency Act, the PAEA, which really has dramatically harmed our Postal Service."
5/ Some people might say that they were trying to assure the failure of the Postal Service with the bill, which loaded it with burdens for the future that are not asked of any other government agency.
Pressure is mounting on President Biden to enact leadership changes at the U.S. Postal Service, including one Democratic lawmaker who's calling on Biden to fire the postmaster general and the entire board of governors. https://t.co/3cwqGOMvQH
