Epic thread incoming:

I'm going to answer the question so many people have been asking this week:

WHAT IS PROJECT X???

Here's the definitive thread to tell you - and show you -precisely what Project X is

Grab a drink, sit down with me and let's #TalkLiberation

"Project X" is actually called "PanQuake".

Pan means "all". Quake is the huge effect our voices can have when our communications are uncensored and when we have access to brand new functionality that *enhances* our social reach, rather than diminishes it

Here's our logo:

SPOILER ALERT: Much of the content below this point is from my personal slides & speech notes from today's launch event. That stream got totally ruined by (big) tech problems, but I'm happy to report everything is turning out wonderfully

Here are some of our most high profile & dedicated public advocates for PanQuake - many of whom were scheduled to appear at our launch. All of whom stuck around for hours, to do a prerecord of the event, which is being edited, processed & uploaded for you as I write this.

This week marks 12 months since Josephine Cashman supplied Andrew Bolt with a letter falsely attributed to a Yolngu lawman that Bolt published via NewsCorp on Jan 26 as parcel of his persecution of Bruce Pascoe. Cashman & Bolt still haven’t provided a satisfactory explanation

Terry Yumbulul didn’t write the letter and didn’t agree with its content. He said so himself in a video published the next day
https://t.co/IJ6ricZeRi and in a written statement published later the same day

The weird thing was, it soon emerged that large sections of the letter had been cribbed from other sources. Weird because as a Yolngu lawman, Terry didn’t need to borrow his knowledge from unrelated, alternate sources ... pretty much verbatim

The fallout was swift. Bolt was compelled to do a correction on his column and Cashman was just as swiftly dumped from her position of the Morrison government’s Senior Advisory Group for an Indigenous Voice to Government

There was no apology from either of them or from NewsCorp tho, and with the assistance of Sky News After Dark they desperately attempted to obfuscate the reality that everybody involved had been caught out and left red faced
(1) Thread: I joined fund management early in my career. At that point, my first firm was small, I had many opportunities to learn & grow. It was not as structured so roles were flexible. Which is why I always encourage to start with small firm and learn as much as you can.

(2) People were wonderful, I was assigned a mentor who looked after my personally & professionally and gave me guidance from the occassional erratic & naive moves I made, purely down to inexperience. Were there people I disliked too? Yes

(3) I had a deep interest in how the business was run, although I was part of the investment team. My bosses & seniors were ever willing to answer my many questions. I, through my own initiative, started developing my own relationships, that I would then bring over to the firm

(4) Bosses appreciated this, and quickly I was involved in the business aspects of things. Being small firm then, allowed me to put my hand up for everything. I sat in on operations meeting that I had nothing to do with because I was curious about how the chain worked

(5) I got picked to run a newly formed entity in my late twenties. I was confident, and elated. However tinge of fear creeped in. I confided in my bosses, who told me “we will give you support, just dont screw it up son” 😀
