Well UWM ( $GHIV ) compound annual growth rate, from ‘16 to ’18, was 28%. Companies that focused on refi struggled, so obviously a very successful company like Rocket or Quicken, they went down 14% in compound annual growth rate in those years...

$GHIV actually grew, and so did their profits, so the opportunity to continue to grow in all cycles is a big differentiator for UWM, and the broker channel versus a lot of our competitors. When rates rise, it's actually even better for $GHIV (UWM)..

If rates stay low, great UWM will continue to crush but when the rates rise, they will continue to steal even more market share because of how they operate in the mortgage sector. People also talk about the speed in closing a loan & that other competitors are faster...

Here's a thread of my top 10 takeaways:

1. Performance

It is a delicate matter to find the balance between demanding that your people perform at their best and not instilling in them the fear of failure.

We must instill in our people a fail fast and learn faster mentality.

2. Humility

At work and in life, you will earn the respect and trust of the people around you if you sincerely acknowledge your mistakes.

There's nothing bad in being wrong, but an error becomes a mistake unless you refuse to correct it.

3. Awareness

Be aware of what you don't know and trust what you do.

There is nothing that inspires less confidence than a person who pretends to know something they don't. True leadership and authority come from knowing who you are and not pretending to be someone you are not.

4. Leadership

We all like to believe that we are indispensable. You have to be realistic enough not to cling to the idea that you are the only person who can do the job.

Great leadership is not about being indispensable, but about helping others to be ready to take your place.

I keep thinking about the parallels between terror groups like Al-Queda, the Taliban, etc and the recent domestic insurrection.

They then explain how their deity expects them to go and make it right in the name of [deity]. It's not remotely relevant if it's Jesus, God or Allah. They find the people they want torn down and have sent them off.

Add to that, their false idols like Donald Trump, Osama bin Laden, or whoever, who never stops telling them "the truth" (well, as they see it). They tell them to ignore the [mainstream media, infidels, etc] and isolate them from any kind of semblance influence that disagrees

It's a constant barrage of preaching, and false idols telling them that they are somehow chosen, and that what they do is "right".
