A psychopathic kid gets a video of a girl using a racial slur when she's 15, holds on to it until she has chosen a college to get her admissions revoked. The NYT celebrates this "reckoning." How many previous tyrannical regimes have gone after the children?https://t.co/cgIsjgMKp3 pic.twitter.com/UoQ48j3jhE

The Times views the fact that 15 year olds quotes rap lyrics in the context of the Town's Confederate and segregationist history.

Loudon County and Leesburg were unpopulated rural areas during Massive Resistance. their populations have grown nearly 20 fold since then. This growth is primarily from from wealthy DC suburbanites as well as Asian and Hispanic immigrants (NYT notes the school is only 50% white)

I'd bet less than 5% of the students are descended from someone who attended segregated Loudon County schools. There is no heritage of segregation in Loudon County--it has no heritage beyond recent government workers and immigrants.
"Geographic Guilt By Association" is becoming more common. If a county or town committed a real or imagined racism in the past, then they must "reckon" with it when addressing their imagined racisms of the present.
Seems like very drastic measures for a very unproven theory.. \U0001f928 Not to mention a lot of this advice would be unsafe or lead to further issues for those with #EhlersDanlos or Hypermobility https://t.co/s88MHnnrRx

My theory how persons with Fibromyalgia, wasting diseases & severe fatigue should exercise is that they should start with very gentle activities whereat gravity is negated & then through gradations of activities whereby exposure to gravity is gradually increased.
The first phase of exercise for persons with Fibromyalgia & wasting diseases should be similar to what was done with polio in the 1900’s: Warm water relaxes spastic muscles & enables joint range of motion exercises with gravity relatively negated.
During warm water physical therapy, efforts include specific exercises to strengthen muscles supporting a body tower able to stand on land; the goal. Trapezium, Serratus ant., Rhomboids, Rectus abd., Transversus, para-lumbars, Glutes, & all leg muscles must be strengthened.
Once standing on land has been achieved, then moving on land is the next goal. Moving would include crawling & walking. During this phase, people might need extra support of a sacroiliac joint belt &/or perhaps even knee supporters in the beginning. Walking sticks might help.
1. A common respect for the voices of young people;
2. The diverse experiences of those who have spent their lives helping others find meaning in movement?
As @ImSporticus notes, this CSJ paper is not the
Does school-based sport have a place? Of course! For some, school sport will be a way of becoming entangled in the lives of others in ways which will lead to a pastime becoming a valued, stabilising influence throughout life. That's awesome!
Sport is proposed as a panacea for individual, community and societal ills. It can save lives, strengthen communities, serve society, prevent crime, improve educational attainment and prepare for the world of work. That message makes me uncomfortable as someone who loves sport.

But as @ImSporticus notes, it's not "sport" that has the impact. That's down to "good people intentionally designing positive experiences through sport" - which is not the same thing!
Ideal: those involved co-creating the positive experiences! #ownership

Firstly because it sees the child as something that is broken, dysfunctional and in deficit and sport will fix them. Secondly because it isn't sport that will have the impact suggested, but good people intentionally designing positive experiences through sport that enrich lives.

Talk of glue, shared interests & civic pride doesn't get us far. Public debate needs to start with a richer & more nuanced appreciation of aspiration & of wayfinding... & if we want "fewer stories like this" & "more stories like that" we need local sense-making & mapping 🗺️

Yes, established pathways to finding meaning in movement are a lot more accessible / inviting for some than for others... & that's a tough area... but we're already way, WAY beyond prescribing "a more robust framework of expectations for school sport"
@PenserETH was correct, I was thinking about @terra_money. I honestly believe its still one of the most underrated ecosystems.
Thread why:
When I hit 5k follows I will drop \u03b1(lpha) thread on one non-Ethereum DeFi ecosystem I am using quite often now and am very impressed by.

Hope it won't happen too fast, I am not done accumulating.
1. Terra is an app specific chain built on Cosmos. It started as a stablecoin app-chain and now branches into other venues. Where it differs from the rest of crypto (which is largely inward facing) is its focus on outward outside “irl” use cases.
2. Terra stablecoins (mainly KRT) enable cheap online payments, undercutting the incumbent payment providers by 60%. Via mobile payment app CHAI, KRT is now used by actual retail consumer to pay for stuff online.
3. Until now, the tx volume facilitated by terra is 370M USD, most of it in e-commerce in SEA region. And the fees are accruing directly to LUNA (Terra native token) Stakers and Delegators.
4. This makes Terra one of the best cashflow driven projects in crypto. Not only because it has relatively attractive “P/S” ratio (currently 22, but was below 3 not so long ago!), but also because its success is not dependent on crypto speculation but usage outside of crypto.
1. Just for a moment, ponder:
- Does anyone own humanity?
- Does anyone 'think' they own humanity?
- Can a corporation own you, or just control you?
- What are ancient Trusts and who owned them?
- Do ancient Trusts still hold any authority in society?
2. Trusts and Corporations have woven a form of control around the earth and we are just now realizing their influence on society.
Let's explore how this may have occurred.
The earliest Trusts were not legal entities as they are today; they were powerful ‘statements of claim’.
3. They were known as Express Trusts.
These Trust required very little formality and could even be enacted orally, as proclamations.
They were most-commonly used for property transfers.

4. The first Express Trust was Unam Sanctam decreed in 1302.
With some egotistical distortions of biblical writing, this Trust effectively made Pope Boniface King of the World, believing that “every human creature” was now subject to the authority of the Pope (Item #9).

5. In celebration, he commissioned a gold-plated head-dress in the shape of a pine cone, with an elaborate crown at its base.
Note carefully, that it was the “growing body of canon law” (judges) that began to give the Pope his authority; both temporal (worldly) and spiritual.

Persephone, the Kore and Queen of the Underworld, as well as Hera, Goddess of Marriage and Demeter, Goddess of Grain, is a vulnerable goddess. These 3 goddesses personify archetypes that represent the traditional roles of women : daughter, wife and mother.

The vulnerable goddesses are the relationship-oriented goddesses, whose identity and well-being depend on having a significant relationship. They express the needs in women for affiliation.
In Greek mythos, the Goddess Persephone was worshipped in 2 ways, as the Kore (which means "young girl" and refers to the Eternal Maiden) and as Queen of the Underworld after her abduction by Hades. She reigns over the dead souls and guides the living who visit the Underworld.

What is going on and does this mean inflation is coming?
Shorter Answer: No
Longer Answer: Not from the monetary channel
1)

Money supply started to accelerate at the end of March, almost 9 months ago
Inflation was the concern at the time.
"Not in the short-term" but over the long-run was the phrase
9 months later & inflation is lower than when the pandemic started because velocity collapsed
2)

There is a cyclical upturn ongoing in the manufacturing sector which is giving rise to "goods" inflation but that is wholly separate from the (lack of) inflation emerging from the monetary channel that many fear with posts of M1 or M2 money growth.

Services disinflation (social distance rules / changing consumer behavior). pic.twitter.com/mXEoI7OvEL
For inflation to emerge from the monetary channel, we need to see rising money growth with *at least* stable velocity and increasing bank loans.
Right now, only condition #1 is satisfied which is why inflation is declining with record money growth.
4)

M1 money supply is rising nearly 70% year over year compared to M2 growth which is rising about 25% year over year.
5)
