1/ Learn Price Action

First of all, you need to focus on learning about price action.

If you do so, you'll be able to understand the big player's footprints better which is critical to know as we can side with them to make profit.

Better to be with them than against them.

2/ Journal your trades

Journaling will change your trading forever.

Why? Because you will precisely know where you are going wrong and whether you keep repeating the same mistakes.

You'll also know in which market you perform the best and in which type of markets you don't.

3/ Avoid losing more than 2% on a trade

I have seen many traders including the really good ones as well, where one big loss will spoil a month or two of their trading year.

The loss becomes so big to overcome that more mistakes are made.

So don't go in a big loss itself.

4/ Think only from a buyer vs seller point of view

You should know who is in control, a buyer or a seller not in options but in futures.

Also understand, at which points do these traders usually tend to give up.

Can take trades confidently and aggressively then.

The 13-step business plan to build a $15k/month side hustle:

1. Ask yourself, "what topics can I help people get massive clarity on?"

My recommendation: Ask your friends/co-workers what you are an expert in.

2. Distill your value. By helping someone achieve massive clarity on X, what are they able to achieve?

1.) Start an weekly newsletter

If you have experience in a particular industry or niche, start there and position yourself as an expert.

If you don't have experience, pick something you're obsessed with and position yourself as a curious learner.

2.) Study, study, study

Whether you're starting from zero or already have experience in your niche, become one of the most knowledgeable people IN THE WORLD on that subject.

The better you know a subject, the more unique, insightful, and compelling your work.

So read – a LOT.

3.) Go HARD on Twitter

There's still a lot of opportunity on Twitter – especially with Threads.

Turn on notifications for big accounts in your niche and become visible (and appreciated) by being an early value-add in their replies.

Tweet daily and publish 1-2 threads per week.

4.) Repurpose your best threads

There's a huge arbitrage opportunity for turning your best threads into carousels on LinkedIn and Instagram.

You can use Tweetpik or go the extra mile and use a design template from @canva.

William's Alligator is probably the most underrated indicator in moving average category.

Alligator follows the premise that market is sideways for 70% of the time and trending only 30% of the time.

This is where William's Alligator can be a great tool for traders.

Why William's Alligator can be a great tool for traders?

It can identify Bullish, Bearish and Sideways market pretty easily. Problem is, traders don't know how to use it effectively. Alligator has three lines:

1. Lips - Fastest Line
2. Teeth
3. Jaws - Slowest Line

Book Interpretation is when Lips Crosses above Jaws, it's a buying opportunity and when below its a shorting opportunity. And when three lines are crisscrossing, instrument is sideways.

BUT this does not make it a tradeable indicator in practice. Here is what should be done.

Firstly, when all the Alligator lines are moving up or down and are widening, this phase is called "Alligator eating with its mouth wide open". When the lines are crisscrossing, this indicates the alligator is sated.

Now, how to use it? with Basic TA and Indicator like MACD

Rules to remember:
1. As long as price is above Alligator, BANKNIFTY is bullish.
2. As long as MACD is trading above 0 line, BANKNIFTY is bullish.
3. Horizontal Lines are the only S&R.
4. CONGESTION is followed by TREND is followed by CONGESTION.

Directional markets:

There is no point in the market being directional and you adjusting a non-directional trade.

As a general rule, you should only adjust once or maximum twice and then give up on firefighting.

Then you should side with a directional move.

Mistake of a non-directional trader:

Non-directional traders face heavy losses in directional markets.

If you are able to limit your losses in such scenarios, your risk management will improve.

The "I can adjust any move" mindset has to vanish for this to improve.

Big Range:

Moves in a big range are usually violent, and this is where non-directional traders lose money despite the fact that they are correct in assuming that the market is range bound.

Level-based stops work best in such an environment with reduced quantities.

• Although the structure in monthly TF is of HH-HL, December monthly candle is a more of a bearish engulfing.

• 17800-18000 looks like a strong support.

• 17800- 1800 used to be a resistance in April & August 2022.

• However post BO of those levels, they might act as an immediate support.

1/ Trading journey of Mr. Pani

• He has an experience of 7 years.

• He has made a profit of Rs. 20 cr. over these years with a capital of Rs. 2 cr.

• However, it's not easy to make such profits.

• More difficult, is to retain those profits and build more on it.

2/ How he ventured to options selling

• He started with futures and option buying however after a certain point when his capital grew, he faced scalability issues and hence he resorted to options selling.

3/ Investing becomes imp once the capital grows:

• Since his trading profits have grown well, he has started investing (investing is always for LT).

• For folks who dnt have much info regarding investing can simply buy Nifty 50 stocks & keep rebalancing as Nifty 50 does.

4/ Covered calls strategy for the portfolio:

• Pledge the portfolio and receive margin ~80% which he would then use to sell OTM CEs of the stocks which are in his portfolio.

• This helps in generating fixed income from the portfolio.

Banknifty moves in 2 phases.

1: Consolidation
2: Trends

An understanding of both of these phases will take your trading to the next level.

Let's start with consolidation phase

It looks like this when Banknifty is stuck inside a range.

This is phase when you shouldn't be taking directional trades.

As market is mostly choppy and is good for mean reversion scalpers.

An option seller can initiate neutral strategies under such an environment.

Trending phase will look something like this

The price action is quick and furious at this time.

As you can see after a consolidation there is a strong breakdown.

Many traders have no consistency when sizing their positions.

The pros have this down to a science.

Here's my dead simple, 3-step guide to position sizing (and to outperforming 99% of other traders in the process):

Step 1:

Define how much of your account you're willing to risk per trade.

Personally, I never risk more than 1% of my account equity.

If I have $100,000 account, I will never risk more $1,000.

This ensures I will never blow up my account on one single trade.

There are successful traders who risk 2-3% of their account per trade, but I find it most calming to risk 1% or less.

The first step in this process is completely up to you - only you can dictate how much risk you can tolerate.

Step 2:

Look for entries & exits that are within 5% (preferably less) of each other.

This means if I buy a stock & have a 5% stop loss, I can put a 20% equity position on & still be risking 1% of my equity.

Your account will thank you w/ 20% in a stock that goes up 100%.

Step 3:

Position size using this formula:

Total equity (100%) / Trade Stop Loss %

So, if your stop loss is 4%, here's the math:

100% equity / 4% stop loss = 25% Equity Position Size

(assuming 1% equity risk).

Computers are for creating, not consuming.

Go to all your social sites and sign out. Set up your computer as your creation hub.

Use your phone or tablet for consumption.

One device is used for creating, the other for consuming.

The absence of video call manners is frustrating for everyone

I'm working remotely full-time, and video calls with coworkers are 50% of my time. Working from home (or remote work in general) can trick us into being in too relaxed mode.

This is my list of DO's and DONT's

- Don't message someone while I'm talking to you.

Your eyes are wandering around. You're typing. It's obvious and impolite. I'd rather stop talking and let you finish.

If there is some urgency, just say it: Excuse me, I need one minute to respond to some urgent messages.

- Mute your microphone, all the time.

You're drinking coffee or having some snacks. It's pretty impolite chewing out loud to everyone's ears.

Make a "unmute to talk" habit. Video call apps usually support some "hold key to unmute" feature, which is quite efficient.

- Turn on your camera.

It's so hard to have a decent conversation without looking at body language. If you're nodding your head while I'm talking, it tells me a lot.

Otherwise, explain why you cannot turn on the camera, but make it an exception.

- Dress appropriately.

Sitting in a beach cafe doesn't justify showing up on a call in a bikini. Yes, I've seen those as well.

Rather turn off the camera in this case.
