PREVIOUS LIFE OF THE HORSE USED IN ASHWAMEDHA YAGYA OF SHRI RAM.

We all are aware of each and every aspect of Prabhu Shri Ram's life. But not many will know the previous life of the horse selected for the Ashwamedha Yagya.

The story describes the preparations for this

Yagya as directed by Muni Vashishtha. This Yagya was well attended by Kings, Muni's and even devtas from swarg lok. Sixty four Kings were directed to bring the pious water of Saryu. After performing the puja of Devta's, Rishi's and Brahmins, it was the time for the Yagya horse to

sanctified. So the pious water was poured on the horse.

But the next words of Shri Ram made everyone curious with attention. Prabhu said to the horse that in this Mandap full of sacred people, it is now your turn to purify me. This sounded very very strange to all present there

Prabhu was the antaryaami and he uttering these words sounded strange. But Prabhu innocently touches the horse.

As soon as Prabhu touched the horse it started acquiring a human form. Prabhu now told the man to reveal his identity.

After paying his respects to Prabhu,

he narrated his story from previous life. He was a Brahmin but once due to his false bragging he was suffering its consequences in this life. Once he was sitting on the banks of Saryu river and trying to fool people by his conceit. It was that time when Rishi Durvaasa happened

To answer questions like this, it's always a good idea to go back to first principles.

In this case, we should ask ourselves: what exactly does a P/E ratio capture?

We know that the P in P/E stands for Price. In other words, the amount we need to pay to acquire an asset today.

And the E stands for Earnings. The amount earned by our asset in the last 1 year.

Note: P/E ratios come in more than 1 flavor.

For the E part, some people use earnings during the *last* 1 year. This is called the *trailing* P/E ratio.

Others use an estimate of earnings during the *next* 1 year. This is called the *forward* P/E ratio.
