A band of brothers who set out to conquer the countryside and ended up ruling half a country for a century.
Story in the evening ...
Tancred de Hauteville was a Norman noble who lived in Normandy in early 1000s. But this thread isn't about him, but his sons who went to Italy. Italy at the time was a divided peninsula, with Frankish, Lombard, Byzantine and Muslim rulers. 1/10
In 1017, invited by a rebellious Lombard noble in Byzantine Italy, the first set of Normans would clash with Basil Boioannes, Catepan of Byzantine Italy. Though the Byzantines woud win the Battle of Cannae, it would be the start of a period of Norman adventurism in Italy. 2/10
In 1030, as a reward for helping retake Naples, Duke Sergius would give Norman Rainulf Drengot the County of Aversa. It was for Rainulf's court that the sons of Tancred, Guillaume and Drogo, would depart in 1035. In 1038, they would join the Byzantine invasion of Sicily. 3/10
Guillaume would emerge as the leader of the Norman mercenaries during the Siege of Syracuse. In 1041, he would defeat the Byzantine contingent which included the Varangian Guards led by Harald Hardrada, future King of Norway, and become the Count of Apulia. 4/10
Story in the evening ...
Seizing the throne from his under age nephew, this young prince converted his kingdom into a military state with his innovations in warfare and consistent war efforts, setting its stage for global domination.

This year has been a strange one for films. Without the usual collection of major blockbusters filling theaters, there has been room for different movies. So far, i have seen 13 films from 2020 out of 130 that i find to be absolutely fantastic. That a 10% hit rate! In order:
1/13 The Forest Of Love: Deep Cut
https://t.co/23KvwMrc4Z
I love Son Sionno's work. He's dark, stylish, japanese-crazy, and knows his music. The 5h long mini-series allows you to dive deeper into this insane story and enjoy all its weird characters and situations even more.
2/13 The Devil All the Time
https://t.co/saZxgx7NsG
This is a very brutal and grim film. It's graphic and violent to the point that it unsettled me. That's rare. Top performances for an incredible story with great cinematography and art direction.
3/13 Rogue City
https://t.co/6fyt4KCXFP
French director Olivier Marchal is great. With a unique vision of law and order in France, he creates memorable characters that wander in a dark-grey world. This is a very well done action-thriller with an intricate political crime story.
4/13 Eurovision Song Contest
https://t.co/Q5s9idhVkB
This is a silly film with its heart on its sleeves. It's over the top and yet, it's sweet and so funny. Maybe it's because i am French and watched many Eurovisions as a kid, but this film NAILS IT!!! The best comedy of 2020!

$BTC: Two Bitcoin FUDs to address this Thanksgiving weekend:
1. China PlusToken FUD: Old news. Please see linked thread.
2. U.S. Treasury FUD: Read thread below...
1/ These news are much more relevant, as they imply severe trade-offs for people who want to keep their bitcoins undoxxed, with the cost and risks of doing so. I would not disqualify the tweet as mere FUD in the sense that what he posted is false. It should be taken seriously.
2/ For all we know, his decision of making it public before TG weekend may come out of the urgency of informing CT of a poignant anti-Bitcoin move by a Trump administration trying to cut lose ends before leaving office—not just "price manipulation" as I've seen suggested around.
3/ It implies the acceleration of a process already planned for for months in advance, not something he just came up with to "crash the market."
4/ In practicality, assuming this passes, it will have two major consencuences:
a. Armstrong's analysis is correct. And I would go further in saying, this regulation would leave the U.S. severely handicapped to continue to be the leader in the cryptocurrency industry worldwide.

1/ So here's the deal with all the PlusToken news we've been seeing recently in the crypto media. Thing is, tho it's just being reported now after the Chinese government put out official balances, @ErgoBTC blew this story open for the on-chain community over a year ago... https://t.co/epNjZaNcJ1

You can find all the affidavits
I don’t see how a court could ignore this evidence. Only corruption would explain ignoring it.
