Now lets looks at Rao's role in Barbie demolition, many say Rao was in favour of demolition & some Congress ppl allege that Rao could have saved the demolition by suspending the UP govt, some say he was happy with the demolition.

The Defund Cville PD campaign recently received multiple videos of an incident that took place on November 15 -16 (11:47p-after midnight) a Black man was assaulted by University and Charlottesville Police Department officers outside of the Sheetz convenience store on the Corner.

So here's the thing

I block people who have obviously bad intentions

This person came to my post with conspiracies and made the contradictory claim that the vaccines in question were both more reactogenic in black people and also not tested in them (go figure that one out)

after politely linking to a guidance from NASEM on the equitable distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine I was given a conspiracy theory about the CIA's involvement in this and the usual line of us not being able to trust pharmaceutical companies

Conspiracy theories aside, I would agree: pharmaceutical companies have violated our trust in the past and it's a problem. The most obvious example is the opioid crisis.

Here's why that comparison does not apply here:

The motive of profit is fundamentally different. People who have chronic pain can be reliant or addicted to opioids and will do anything to get them. Even if regular boosters are needed, the dosing for a vaccine is just not the same.

Vaccines in general are not the big money makers for pharmaceutical companies. They are public health interventions. This one will also likely be subsidized by the government (at least if expert recommendations are adhered to) which further weakens the argument

Im sure everyone knows about the "Second" Cuba, which was discovered and named by Christopher Columbus in 1492. The territory of modern day Cuba was inhabited by the Ciboney Taíno people from the 4th millennium BC until Spanish colonization in the 15th century..

1) But....do you know about the "First" Cuba??

In the small district of Alentejo, Portugal, there is a small town known as Cuba.

This town has quite a historic claim to history...

2) In this small village there stands a bronze statue of Christopher Columbus. Around the base of the statue are plaques that tell a remarkable.. yet unprovable story.

3) The story is that Christopher Columbus was originally from Portugal, NOT Italy, as written in the Washington Irving biography of Christopher Columbus which claims Genoa, Italy as Christopher Columbus birth city.

4) I will not dispute one way or the other, but will let you decide for yourself. So, in 1492, Columbus sails the ocean blue...and he finally hits land and names it "Cuba"...why not Genoa?

On #CaturdayEve , I was thinking about telling the heartwarming story of the eye-patched curmudgeon who sits around working with a silly sword on his wall and an even sillier cat on his hat.

I met the old guy back when he was much younger, over 25 years ago now.

I didn't know then that he was permanent. He was sort of a stray, that I made the mistake of letting in my house and feeding.

I mean, my kid liked him and he showed every indication of wanting to stick around. Next thing I knew, it wasn't just him, but his three kids, too.
