1/ What is an Auto Ancillary?

Well, a modern car requires 10s of thousands of parts; the OEMs that produce these cars don't make most of the components in-house. That's where auto ancillaries come into the shot.

From Seats to locks to braking systems, we have them all.

2/ Sounds simple, right?

Not really, the supply chain management one has to deal with as an OEM is extraordinarily complex.

The technical know-how required in every part of the chain is unique; leading to focused players with high market share.

3/ Auto Ancillaries with 20%+ market share in India or 5%+ market share Globally (Src: @Tijori1)

See, normally market share consolidation is common with time; Why is it so?

4/ High capital requirements: What makes this a moat is also why this biz is gruesome.

You as an ancillary, do the development today, you put the capacity today (~take multiple years); then wait on the hope that OEMs are able to sell vehicles. Now, Imagine a recession.

As investors, we need to qualify the companies in our portfolio.

If they don't meet our cut, we don't invest in them.

Apart from the eventual/current profitability and strong balance sheet, growth is my top requirement.

Here's why:

1/ If a business does not grow, its share price will not grow.

In a corporate lifecycle, a company experiences most growth during its expansion phase. That's where most returns are being created.

This is why high growth companies deliver huge returns.

2/ The compounding of growth rates is often underestimated.

It can do wonders for your company.

Growing at 30% turns $1 to $13.79 by Y10.

Growing at 10% turns $1 to $2.59 by Y10.

The share price returns a company can generate based on this is significant.

3/ Here's an example: Crowdstrike $CRWD

It grew its ARR from $71 million in 1Q 2018 to $1,731 million in 4Q 2022.

1) For riding trends, first you have to understand trends - Here is how a complete cycle of stock looks like..Stock has 4 stages...We need to be in 2nd one to make money.

2) Any stage 2 has phases as this is not a linear journey but the stock will set up multiple bases in between...Below is the example of Balaji amines that highlights how the stage 2 in reality looks now.....

3) So a Stage 2 has periods of bases in between which are the typical resting period for digesting earlier gains. Theoretically looks like this..Stage 2 then a base within stage 2 and stage 2 resumes....

4) The real question is how to ride trend between the bases peacefully so that we don't have to wait in consolidation.

Obviously, Koluvu Srinivasa Murthy is regarded as the supervising authority of the temple’s income and expenditure.

Let's start with the basics.

When you first pull up a stock chart you will see Price and Volume plotted versus time.

Each price bar represents one period of whatever timeframe you are on

Some people like candlesticks, I personally think Open/High/Low/Close (OHLC) Bars are more intuitive

For each bar/candle, the four important data points of each period are represented:

High
Low
Open
Close.

For each bar, we want to be able to determine whether buyers or sellers are in control and how much conviction they have.

To do this we use our tools: Price and Volume

Thing about turning a price Bar 90 degrees counter clockwise so the high is now on the left and the low is now on the right.

Then picture a game of tug of war with participants representing buying pressure on the left and selling pressure on the right.

These 3 showed what is called patriotism and how a lady can defeat the army of britishers and Nawabs.

Queen Velu Nachiyar the first female freedom fighter against British Empire, Udaiyal who sacrificed her life to protect her queen and Kuyili who burnt herself to detonate the British weaponry should have been the Symbol of Gallantry and Sacrifice of Indian freedom Movement.

It was Kalaiyar Koil war in 1772, when her Husband King Muthuvaduganatha Udaiya Thevar martyred against the British and Nawab of Arcot. A personal tragedy, loss of Kingdom, tactical escape from the Sivaganagi and her depleted column of army, yet she remained unnerved.

Velu Nachiyar and Vellachi Escaped British, Kalaiyar Koil war in 1772 against British saw the loss and martyrdom of King Muthuvaduganatha Udaiya Thevar. She was informed about this tragedy while she was camping at Kollangudi.
