Image-Adaptive (IA)-YOLO improves object detection in adverse weather conditions using a hybrid task: image improvement combined with object detection.

• The paper, Image-Adaptive YOLO for Object Detection in Adverse Weather Conditions, was published 3 days ago:

• The authors present an end-to-end hybrid data training task

• Each input image is adaptively enhanced to obtain better detection performance

• The hybrid architecture has a CNN-Parameter Predictor (PP) network that learns some appropriate Differentiable Image Processing (DIP) parameters to adaptivily enhance images for object detection, in a weakly supervised manner

• The DIP module consists of six differentiable filters with adjustable hyperparameters: Defog, White Balance(WB), Gamma, Contrast, Tone, and Sharpen.

• The CNN-PP network is trained using low-resolution images (256x256px) to speed the training

• CNN-PP parameters are used by the DIP module to improve the quality of the high-resolution images

• DIP processed (enhanced) images feed a YOLOv3 model for the object detection task

You graduate as an investor when you start asking things like the quality of revenue, incremental quality of earnings and the competitive landscape. Eg:- One API player will grow earnings because of shortage in market for those

APIs but the other one which will grow because of being the lowest cost producer. The markets often give higher Valuations to the latter player.

Another example that comes to mind is Balkrishna Industries vs other tyre players.🚜🚜

Given the fact that it is the lowest cost producer and has the highest margins. It always gets a premium to the other players in the tyre space. Whether at peak or at trough.

One more example is that of APL Apollo, same business got low valuations during the last cycle and collapsed by 50%+ when their EBITDA per tonne reduced. In this cycle, the value added proportion has increased.

Andal, the One-of-a-Kind Azhwar!

Someone who is engrossed in bhakti with the omnipresent one is termed as Azhwar in Tamil. Among the 11 male azhwars, she is the only one who is female.

Background: Andal, also known as "Godai" or "Mother Earth's Gift," was discovered by a pious brahmin named Vishnucittar, who lived in Villiputtur, a town near Madurai, while doing his daily chores of procuring flowers for the Lord's devotion at the local temple.

"Godai" grew up in a loving and devotional home. Godha grew up listening to Krishna's stories and participating in all of her father's pastimes, such as collecting flowers, Tulasi, and weaving magnificent garlands for Vatapathrasayee, the Lord of Villiputtur.

Her head was full of Krishna-related thoughts from the beginning of her developing stage, and she was completely enamored with him.

She made up her mind to marry Vatapathrasayee even as a youngster, refusing to think of any other human being in the same way. She envisioned what it would be like to be His spouse, playing the role of His beloved and enjoying His presence, such was her love for the Lord.

SOMNATHAPURA KESHAVA MANDIR, MYSORE (Kar)

One of the most well-preserved architectural beauty of Hoysala reign.

It was constructed by Somanatha, a commander of Hoysala King, Narasimha III, hence also called Somanatha Mandir.

It was built during 1254 – 1291 AD

The mandir is constructed in Trikuta style meaning three parts with three Vimanas.
They are dedicated to Krishna in three forms – Janardana, Keshava and Venugopala.
Unfortunately, the main Keshava murti is missing and the Janardana and Venugopala murtis are damaged.

The ceilings of the mandir depict sixteen different types of Hoysala art. Names of some sculptors are engraved on pedestals of sculptures.

The mandir is no longer used as a place of worship as Murtis have been broken and mandir was desecrated by invaders.

The Mandir is known for fine carvings. Some fine sculptures include Sri Vishnu,Devi Lakshmi and Saraswati.

There is a red post box in the complex. If a visitor posts postcard in the box, it is stamped with a unique Somanathapura stamp, which is one of its kind in the world.

The USS Enterprise, at 75,000 ton, was the world's largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the 1970s with more than 70 fighter aircraft, a MONSTER.

The Indian Navy’s fleet was led by the 20,000-ton aircraft carrier, Vikrant, with 20 light fighter aircraft.

The USS Enterprise was being dispatched to secure American citizens in 🇧🇩 was the 'official' American statement.

Unofficially it was to threaten the Indian forces and prevent the liberation of East Pakistan.

🇮🇳 soon got an another bad news.

Soviet intelligence reported to 🇮🇳 that a powerful British naval group led by the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle with commando carrier HMS Albion, several destroyers and other ships were approaching India's territorial waters from the west, towards the Arabian Sea.

When we want something badly, we start overestimating our odds of success.

Don't let what you want cloud your judgment of what you should do.

3. Reciprocation:

The tendency to treat others as they've treated us.

When treated well: "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."

When treated badly: "An eye for an eye."

Sometimes this tendency can lead to endless conflict.

Resist the urge to reciprocate bad behaviour.

4. Social Proof:

We copy other people's behaviour when making decisions.

Especially when we're feeling uncertain.

This is why so many ads have celebrity endorsements and user testimonials.

Next time you make a decision, be mindful of other people's influence.

MANAKUL VINAYAGAR, PUDUCHERRY

Earlier named Bhuvaneshwar Ganapati.
There was a pond (Kulam in Tamil) near the mandir that was full of sand (manal).
So people started calling Manal Kulathu Vinayagar (Ganpati near sand pond) that later became Manakula Vinayagar.

This Ganpati mandir is the only one across India which is covered fully with gold on its tower.

The murti of Vinayagar is also unique as he is seen standing on 3 legs.

Wedding festival of Riddhi and Siddhi with Vinayagar is unique since it is celebrated only in this mandir.

A legend says that the French tried to destroy the mandir and threw the murti in the sea but when they came back, they found the murti back in the mandir in same position.

There is a golden Ratha here. Around 7.5 kg gold was used in making it at a cost of around 35 lakhs.

We all know that Odisha was once called ‘Kalinga’ but most people are not aware about Aira Maharaja Mahameghavahana Kharavela was one of the greatest kings of ancient India.

He was the first great historical sovereign of ancient Kalinga who belonged to the soil and styled himself as Chetaraja-Vamsa Vardhana, and Kalingadhipati.
In history, it says that he owned many propitious signs on his body and was gifted with many qualities.

At the age of 15,Kharavela became the Yuvaraja, or Crown Prince,to understand the burden of royal responsibilities. By that time he was already skilled in five main subjects,namely,Lekha or Writing, Rupa or Coinage, Ganana or Arithmetic, Vyavahara or Law, and Vidhi or procedure.

Kharavela worked as the Crown Prince for nine years and later after completion of the 24 years of his life, he was crowned as the king of Kalinga. He then began his marvellous rule as the king belonging to the third generation of his royal dynasty.

He worked for the stability of his capital city Kalinganagari as the capital was earlier damaged by a severe storm that required repair and construction. In the first year, he repaired the gates, fortifications, and the structures of the fort of Kalinganagari.

During the beginning of my trading journey, there were many times where I thought of giving up.

The first year I really was committed.

Then towards the second year, I really started thinking, “Is this really for me?”

I knew I had a strong passion for trading.
It’s what kept me in the game for so long.

But after 2 years of losses, I thought maybe I was meant for another business.

But there was always that “What if” thought running through my head.

What if I’m right there?

What if tomorrow starts the day where I become consistently profitable?

That thought never left…

It wasn’t until I found Supply and Demand Trading.

It changed the game for me.

It simply just made sense.

I cut out all the useless indicators I was using and started studying.

There are two parts: encoder and decoder. Encoder takes source embeddings and source mask as inputs and decoder takes target embeddings and target mask. Decoder inputs are shifted right. What does shifted right mean? Keep reading the thread. 2/

The encoder is composed of N encoder layers. Let's implement this as a black box too. The output of one encoder goes as input to the next encoder and so on. The source mask remains the same till the end 3/

Similarly, we have the decoder composed of decoder layers. The decoder takes input from the last encoder layer and the target embeddings and target mask. enc_mask is the same as src_mask as explained previously 4/

Let's take a look at the encoder layer. It consists of multi-headed attention, a feed forward network and two layer normalization layers. See forward(...) function to understand how skip-connection works. Its just adding original inputs to the outputs. 5/

Narayaneeyam Day : Tomorrow

Narayaneeyam Day is celebrated on 28th day of Malayalam month Vrishchikam. Narayaneeyam is the condensed form of Srimad Bhagavatam, written by Narayana Bhattatiri without leaving any essence of Bhagavatam & was submitted to Guruvayurappan on this day

Bhattatiri was a great devotee & scholar who lived in Guruvayur in Kerala. Narayana Bhattathiri had a Guru, Achyuta pisharadi, who had a severe attack of Rheumatism. Bhattathiri & with his prayers transferred guru's illness to him. Once, when Bhattathiri was unable to move, he

was carried to Guruvayur temple,
where he met Ezhuthachan, eminent  Malayalam  poet of the time. Ezhuthachan advised Bhattathiri to "begin the treatment with fish" Bhattathiri understood that he would be cured if he compose avatar of Vishnu starting with the fish, known as Matsya

Srimad Bhaghavatam which consists of 18000 sloka was condensed to 1034 slokas. He was 27 year old when Bhattadiri wrote Narayaneeyam. Thus on 100th day he was completely cured of illness. Particular Sloka of Narayaneeyam (Dasakam 8, Sloka 13) is a very powerful & also advised by

Sri Kanchi Maha Periyava for curing any illness. If one cannot recite Narayaneeyam completely are adviced to chant this sloka 21 times daily.

अस्मिन् परात्मन् ननु पाद्मकल्पे
त्वमित्थमुत्थापितपद्मयोनि: ।
अनन्तभूमा मम रोगराशिं
निरुन्धि वातालयवास विष्णो ॥

" What have Brahmins done other than beg for alms?"- asks this political stooge.

I have noticed that people like him, who slander me everyday and spread lies about me, have a deep seated hatred for Brahmins.

This is a common factor driving them all.

Brahmins gave their blood for the freedom of this country.

The first bullet against the British in 1857 was shot by a Brahmin named Mangal Pandey.

According to Meenakshi Jain, 70% of freedom fighters who were kiIIed by British bullets were Brahmins.

Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Batukeshwar Dutt, Ram Prasad Bismil, Chapekar brothers;

G Gokhale, Tatya Tope, Pattabhi Sitaramayya, Pingali Venkayya, Subramania Bharati, Vinoba Bhave, Rabindranath Tagore

These are just some of prominent names. The list is long.

In spite of the fact that Brahmins shed their blood for this country, some of these politcal stooges taunt Brahmins with beggar trope day & night.

This is based on their faulty understanding of the concept of Bhikṣā

Bhikṣā is not conceptually equivalent to "beg".

Many Shastras forbid Brahmins from earning any wealth. An ideal Brahmin is not supposed to be attracted to materialism. He should acquire his victuals only by Bhikṣā.

Many Brahmins took this injunction seriously & gave up wealth

Here's a breakdown:

1. Fundsmith's winning formula

Find companies that focus on delivering value.

Not those who are looking to pacify Wall Street with short-term results.

2. Avoiding "cheap" companies?

Low multiples are not a reason to buy a company.

A ship will continue to sink if it has a hole in it.

"A stock may have a low valuation but an even lower intrinsic value. Buying such a stock is not a recipe for investment success."

3. Getting quality right

For long-term investors, getting the quality of the business is more important than the valuation.

“An investor could have paid 281 times earnings for L’Oréal, 156 times for Colgate, and 147 times for Brown-Forman and still beat the market.”

4. "Unprofitable" companies could be good investments

Many of the best companies don't show earnings today.

But that's because they're heavily reinvesting for the future.

It's just that the earnings hasn't show up.
