There has been a lot of said about risk management on the internet, courses, etc. What I found out going through this topic is that it's often very incomplete or narrow. That's why I have decided to put together this comprehensive

also in my blog posts I always used just my own stuff but for this one there is lot I learned from @Trader_Dante and @edgewonk and other resources mentioned in post so make sure to check them out

Materials I studied for hundreds of hours before I became consistently profitable as a day trader - a thread:

1) Understand how supply and demand zones work (applicable to all timeframes)

2) Learn how to identify the pivot points to identify high probability entry and exit zones

2.5) Watch one more video to really nail in how to draw supply and demand zones

3) Understand how supply and demand zones work with major support and resistance levels (yes, they are slightly different)

**Options Strategies Broaden Your Range of Trades**

Going Long Calls/Puts are the plays most retail traders use (equity trader strategies, higher leverage/lower margin)

The beauty of options is there are many more ways to profit, beyond pure directional bias.

2/n *Quick Review of Options*

Options are a derivative contract which allows the holder to buy/sell the underlying at a determined price by a certain expiration date.

Options Greeks (delta, gamma, vega, theta) affect contract P/L based on changes in volatility, time, & price.

3/n -Covered Calls-

If you have 100 shares of XYZ stock, you could short a call contract, w/ your shares as collateral. Strategy allows you to collect premium.

Either your call expires worthless or it closes ITM. If ITM you sell the shares at the strike price of ur short call

4/n Generally, you employ a covered call strategy when you have a near/short term neutral/bearish view on your position. Thus this allows you to collect money/premium or hedge when the stock is not rallying.

5/n -Straddle-

This is where the trader buys a call & put at the same strike price and expiration date. You would do this when u expect a large move outside the expected range in *either* direction

You will lose on this trade if the stock does not move/stays within a range.

@optionsmafia1 so essentially the Wingman trade is to attack the same contracts when they are trading a good 50% lower than what they were originally bought at, with the expectation/hope that they will rebound in a massive way?

How I begin in Technical Analysis (THREAD)

I took a trader I liked & copied everything on the chart to mine (COLORS & INDICATORS)

This way you can ‘’see’’ what he see. Every time he post charts & updates you look at it & try to understand/notice how the chart moved

In relation to what he said & anticipated from his analysis. You’ll naturally start to understand how chart work while using the trader you chose as a GUIDE to YOUR analysis

Then you go from there & you TWEAK it over time to what work & what doesn’t for YOU

Start with DAILY Timeframe.

The one I chose used 200/50 SMA as target or support. I quickly noticed how accurate this was. So I kept it, use it & def my fav indicator. The accuracy of the 50/200 SMA when used as target is insane & on the other side, when used as support

It allow you to quickly find your risk (Stop Loss) cause you’ll notice when it break down it continue to drop

You’ll also notice the 50/200 are good entry zone cause it give an amazing R/R. You hold as long as it hold. If break down, I learned to let some wiggle room

Then if not get back over, you CUT. See? Only using the 50/200 SMA I learned ‘’PT?’’ (Resistance), Entry (Support) & when to cut QUICK

I was not super profitable, but this was the first time I tried out the clouds during a day trade. Something clicked and I wanted to share. Please correct me if I’m wrong, only way I’ll learn!

$apps #dayTrade - it’s been on my watchlist and I’ve been in and out of it. Today I decided to use his clouds. I’ve made them my own. Green is buying, yellow is selling, Go Pack Go! I’m using it on the 1 min chart. I noticed a pattern and I’ll dive into that on next video.

Naturally I saw the $apps dip cuz I had a couple shares already. Let’s dive into what I saw. You could have played puts here and profited nicely.

What does “choppiness” look like?How do we find up trends? #choppy

Ok PROTEEN, cool…but how do you know when to buy? A lot of that comes from experience or “instincts” you build over time. My instincts said higher lows, coupled with candles above cloud, should mean an uptrend is coming. How much uptrend? Who knows? Manage your #risk

THREAD - (Short term Options)

Many of the messages I get regarding options are referencing outside the money (OTM) calls w/ expirations a week or two out (or less)

It's no wonder these traders are often very concerned (even frantic) about the outcome of their trades.

Unless you are an expert technician, and/or have serious market knowledge and intuitive skills, I recommend buying *at least* a month or two of time, and not holding through an earnings report unless you've trimmed your position at a significant profit, or are playing LEAPS.

(LEAPS = Long-term Equity Anticipation Securities
a.k.a. Long term options typically w/ an expiration of longer than a year)

While playing OTM weekly options has the potential for huge returns, & will undoubtedly get your adrenaline pumping, it's also an easy way to lose your💰

*IF* you insist on playing OTM weeklies, be very cognizant of your position sizing.

Each trade should be a *very* small percentage of your account, and you should assume that every trade you make is going to zero.

However, you don't need to play short-term options to make *serious* money over time...

You can still make massive returns on options that have expirations that are 2+ months, even 2+ years out without taking on so much immediate risk.

Step 1: Stock Selection

1. For this strategy you're going to have to choose some stocks that you think will be doing well in the future/long term.

2. Stock must be in an uptrend.

3. Stock options should be liquid enough to trade in.

4. List of stocks attached

Step 2: Which option to sell?

1. Sell put at a support according to charts.

2. Sell put at a strike far away from the spot where you think the probability of the stock falling will be very very low.

3. Sell put at a price where you're willing to buy the stock at.

Step 3: What to do when in profit/loss?

1. If in profit you can just roll up the puts thereby increasing the ROI or shift to other stocks to make more profit.

2. If in loss take delivery of the shares equivalent to the lot size in cash market.

Step 4: What to do after taking the delivery?

1. Sell calls to lower your cost price of the stock. For eg, you took delivery of Reliance at 1900, sell 2100 CE which is about 10% away.

2. Keep doing this till your CE expires ITM and then give delivery of your stock away
