1. Is ‘Dharma’ not ‘Religion’?

If not, then what is it? Is it free for all?

It is true that ‘dharma’ isn't ‘religion’. It is a non-translatable & can't be translated as ‘religion’ in English. That much is true. But it is not free for all at all. Here is how.

2. To discuss religion first, religion is what we know as Prophetic Monotheism with features like: One True God, Last Prophet, Divided Time, Divided Humanity, Historic Origin and Last Judgment.

3. All that matters in a religion is Belief. Actions are null and void against belief. If you have right belief, you go to heaven. If you have wrong belief, you go to hell. Actions mean nothing. This is where it differs starkly from a dharmic system.

4. Dharma dictates that one can never escape one’s karma. He can be shown the right path by a guru, he can put in course correction, but he has to undergo his prarabdha; the fruits of his own actions. So everyone is responsible for his own actions.

5. This thread is not to list out the differences between Dharma and Religion. That is job for another day; another thread. This thread is to clarify whether dharma is free for all or not? The clear answer is no. It is not free for all. Unlike some filmi celebrities today claim.

I've been lifting weights for 8 years.

If I was starting over again, here's 7 things I'd do differently to gain as much muscle in half the time.

1. Track reps & weights.

For the first couple of years, I never tracked what I was lifting.

At the start you can just walk into the gym and put another 5-10 lbs on the bar every time.

You "learn" that you're stronger every time you set foot in the gym.

Eventually this stops.

You keep trying to lift more, but you find you can no longer make progress.

What you need now is to make smaller jumps.

You need to use fractional plates to make loads like 117.5 & add reps week to week.

You must track this or you'll forget what you need to do.

2. Do less volume.

The gym doesn't make you stronger, it creates a stimulus to get stronger.

Key difference.

You're breaking your muscles down in the gym with each hard set.

There's a point where more muscle damage doesn't help you & you'll struggle to be stronger next time.

Most people will see great results with 10 hard sets per muscle group per week, and exceeding this doesn't help.

More advanced and genetically gifted individuals may do better on more, but this is not most people.

In fact, many people will progress fine on less than this.

7 proven steps to achieve the optimal body fat for men (12-15%)

1) Track food intake

You can drop fat initially without tracking.

But if you want to achieve visible abs, you will need to be more precise.

Track food intake Mon-Sat, and take Sunday off.

This will keep you accountable and ensure you maintain a calorie deficit.

2) Eat more protein

Protein becomes more important the leaner you get.

The lower your body fat percentage, the more your body requires protein to retain muscle.

Aim for 1g-1.2g protein per LB of body weight.

Consume more:

• Chicken/turkey
• Lean beef/steak
• Fish
• Eggs

3) Periods of sobriety

Alcohol and fat loss do not mix.

Alcohol contains empty calories that have no benefit to your body.

Aim to have periods of 2-3 months where you abstain from alcohol or keep it to a minimum.

This will make reaching 10-12% bf much easier.

4) Lift weights

Your weight training will be the biggest driver of muscle retention.

To ensure you're losing fat and not muscle, lift 3-5x per week.

Focus on 6 exercises, 3 being compounds and 3 sets per workout.

You want to look muscular and lean, not skinny with abs.

I know many times I have boasted myself for doing well in stock market. Now let me share my blunders as well.

1. Buying debt-ridden & loss-making businesses in anticipation of turnaround:

I bought Punj Lloyd and Lanco Infra (in 2013 & 2014) at lower levels as I was greedy to earn more returns. I still hold both of them as I can remember that I won’t have to do it again.

2. Buying a loss-making business on dips:

I bought Suzlon first at 11 rs.and then kept buying on dips. Finally, I realized my mistake and sold it for no profit no loss after holding for couple of years. I was lucky enough to get my average buy price but learnt a valuable lesson.

3. Not averaging up when business performs well:

I bought and held few businesses for a long period of time but I could not average them up as price anchoring bias was the reason behind not buying them again....

.....Few of them turned 5-10 baggers but the initial allocation was 2-5% and I didn’t increase it further. So, the return in terms of percentage looks high but in terms of amount it’s not significant.

A head and shoulders (H&S) pattern is a chart pattern of three peaks, where the outer two are close in height, and the middle is the highest.

It is one of several top patterns that signal an upward trend is nearing its end.

How do we trade the H&S pattern?

We find out stock that has the pattern but has not given a breakdown below the support or neckline which means it is in the formation of the right shoulder.

Generally, we track the stock just before the breakout so that we don't miss a big move.

What does this mean?

Basically, we look out for the charts where the price is forming the right shoulder or consolidating just above the neckline.

As seen in the chart where the price was in consolidation just above the resistance before the breakdown and big downmove.

Now the most important question is how we trade this pattern?

1. First identify stocks that are forming the H&S pattern and are about to give a breakdown.
2. Stoploss would be the nearest swing high or right shoulder high.

पूर्णिमान्त मास मानने पर मास का प्रारम्भ (पूर्वपक्ष) कृष्णपक्ष होता है और उत्तरपक्ष (उत्तरार्ध) शुक्लपक्ष होता है। परन्तु तैत्तिरीय ब्राह्मण और निरुक्त में मास का प्रारम्भ शुक्ल पक्ष से और समाप्ति (उत्तरार्ध) कृष्णपक्ष से बताया गया है। इस प्रकार का मास

अमान्त मास होता है। यह भी कहा गया है है कि पूर्वपक्ष अर्थात् शुक्लपक्ष देवों से संबद्ध है और उत्तरार्ध कृष्णपक्ष असुरों से ,निरुक्त में शुक्ल पक्ष को पूर्वपक्ष और कृष्णपक्ष को उत्तरपक्ष (उत्तरार्ध) बताया है ।

आधुनिक पंचांग एक प्रकार से दोनों पद्धतियों का समन्वय हैं । इनमें

मास पूर्णिमान्त होते हैं अर्थात् मास का प्रारम्भ कृष्णपक्ष से होता है और समाप्ति शुक्ल पक्ष से, अतः मास की समाप्ति पूर्णिमा को होती है । परन्तु वर्ष का प्रारम्भ शुक्लपक्ष से होता है, अर्थात् चैत्र शुक्लपक्ष से वर्ष प्रारम्भ होता है और आगामी चैत्र कृष्णपक्ष की अमावस्या को वर्ष

पूरा होता है। इस प्रकार मास पूर्णिमान्त हैं और वर्ष अमान्त हैं। अतः आधुनिक पंचांग दोनों पद्धतियों का समन्वय समझना चाहिए ।

इसी प्रकार दोनों अयन अर्थात् उत्तरायण और दक्षिणायन का भी भेद किया गया है । उत्तरायण का संबन्ध देवों से है और दक्षिणायन का पितरों से । शतपथ ब्राह्मण में इसी
