So some dude who clearly knows nothing about the military in the comment section claims i am dancing to the drum of my paymaster. The Nigerian army uses T-34 tanks made during World war two he claims. I wont bother replying comments like of this natur, but after seeing nearly

ten lines of replies of which nobody challenges or corrects such a ridiculous claim its only fair i point out his falacy. As of December 23 2020 these are the main battle tanks fielded by the Nigerian army.
VT-4 Main Battle Tank (Frontline tank of the Nigerian army). Arguably the most sophisticated Main Battle Tank in Africa today.
T-72 M Main Battle Tank.
Vickers Mk.3 Eagle Main Battle Tank
This is already the largest tank force in Sub Saharan Africa. Im gonna leave out the T-55 and AMX-30 in strategic storage because their serviceability might be in question. There are no images of them being used in the front.
If this is not enough these tanks are supported by a fleet of fire support/ tank destroyers. Such as the FV101 Scorpion Light Tank.
SH-1 Tank Destroyer
ERC-90 Tank Destroyers

[THREAD] On the recent ISIS Sinai video.

This is done with help from @war_noir, go follow.

As the ISIS insurgency in the Sinai continues, this video shows a very interesting mix of SALW, with some usual suspects appearing, but also more interesting things...

1/

First, the most prominent feature of the video is (as always), large IEDs blowing up army vehicles, with varied effectiveness. This has been a constant for years by now.

IS Sinai retain substantial IED expertise, with these...

Also being laid in an anti personnel manner. Multiple targets are seen hit. Conventional close-range attacks are seen also.

Now, let's turn to small arms. As usual, we see a mix of typical AKs, FALs, etc.

These include Type 56-1 and 2, FN FAL 50.00, FAL Para, AKM variants, and the ever present Libyan AK-103-2 (See thread here). We also see AMD-65.

When it comes to heavier weapons, the commonly seen DShK/M and Type 54 are seen. These are common.

It is notable that IS Sinai have the operational freedom to use these on Technicals, despite the presence of the Egyptian Air Force. Oh, and 81/2mm mortar (Helwan M-69?)

I’m torn on how to approach the idea of luck. I’m the first to admit that I am one of the luckiest people on the planet. To be born into a prosperous American family in 1960 with smart parents is to start life on third base. The odds against my very existence are astronomical.

I’ve always felt that the luckiest people I know had a talent for recognizing circumstances, not of their own making, that were conducive to a favorable outcome and their ability to quickly take advantage of them.

In other words, dumb luck was just that, it required no awareness on the person’s part, whereas “smart” luck involved awareness followed by action before the circumstances changed.

So, was I “lucky” to be born when I was—nothing I had any control over—and that I came of age just as huge databases and computers were advancing to the point where I could use those tools to write “What Works on Wall Street?” Absolutely.

Was I lucky to start my stock market investments near the peak of interest rates which allowed me to spend the majority of my adult life in a falling rate environment? Yup.
