My 2021 DeFi Predictions:

1\ the rise of Decentralized Derivatives
In 2020, the embryo of the DeFi derivative market started to take shape. A dozen DeFi derivative platforms were established and began to launch mainnets. I expect this market will explode in 2021.

 2\ Central bank currencies
The COVID-19 pandemic will continue to haunt the world's economy for some time. The economic uncertainty will last.
China will launch its Central Bank Digital Currency in 2021, and many will follow.
3\ Cross Chain BTC will continue to grow.
BTC will take a more important role in DeFi and Derivatives.
4\ Regulations intensify
There will be an increase in official and legislative scrutiny from regulatory agencies concerning the overall cryptocurrency industry internationally.
5\ More traditional money into Crypto and DeFi
Regulations are not bad things. More traditional money will find legitimate paths to crypto investment and in DeFi applications. This may become the drive to another great bubble.
6\ Cryptoasset management will rise, both in a decentralized and centralized way. Cryptoasset will become an important component in financial portfolios.
7\ Privacy and security are increasingly prominent in DeFi.
The total dollar value of losses suffered by the victims of fraud, theft and hacks will increase in the year of 2021 compared with 2020. Some decentralized whitehat organizations will be established and grow.
8\ Crypto acquisitions will be more frequent
Crypto acquisitions will take place not just in a cooperative way, but in deep collaboration, token and team merges.

Maybe some new hyping and FOMO game will emerge in the acquisitions, like a new ICO.
9\ Possible standardization of the security audit of codes
Security audit needs standard and should be taken more seriously, not like an advertising tool.
I would be interesting to see a DeFi security auditor DAO established in 2021.
10\ Liquidity Mining is still important to attract liquidity but will evolve. It will be more connected to the DeFi model itself. DeFi platforms will cooperate to provide multi-coin mining choices. Mining games will be more complicated.
2021 will be an extraordinary year for DeFi. It is exciting to be a part of it. Let's hope for a better tomorrow.

FINDING EDGE IN OPTIONS

24/08/15: Nifty gap down 250 points & another 250 after that. Previous few months return gone, but since I'm quick to take my losses, was saved from ruin. Before that my only edge in option selling was adjustments & my forever edge of following PA. (1/n)

I soon realised that theta decay with sound adjustments is not an edge, which i earlier thought was & which gave me good returns over the years. After that i went deeper in understanding volatility behaviour, how/where it manifests & all the discrepancies in option chain. (2/n)

With finding edge in logistics i mean how to keep the greeks in check, SL in place & optimum ways of adjustments with minimum slippages. So the main aim here is to write theta without following vol behaviour & having any actual knowledge of what's going on in the markets. (3/n)

A dedicated trader can learn all this in few years & it is something which is 'obvious' to become successful. But majority can't reach this level, as this also requires consistent hustle in live markets. All the seminar/webinar business teaches you till this level only.(4/n)

If you get passed this level though, the real work starts, when you have to find your real edge. This can't be taught in a webinar. It needs serious introspection of your trading skills, psychology & strategies in use, which ultimately allow you to book excellent profits. (5/n)

THREAD ON DELTA (The most important GREEK)

Many traders don't indulge in understanding GREEKS because they think they are very complicated.

There are 4 primary greeks:

Delta
Gamma
Theta
Vega

In my experience, understanding DELTA is enough to take benefit of greeks.(1/n)

Delta measures the rate of change of options price based on the directional movement of the underlying.

So this means we can know in advance (theoretically) how much an option will move with the underlying & so we can prepare our strategies accordingly. (2/n)

Value of delta varies between 0 & 1 for calls and -1 & 0 for puts. This figure tells how much an option price will change, when the underlying moves 1 point. So example a delta of .2 of call indicates that for every 1 point change in the underlying, the price will move .2 (3/n)

For option writers who want to trade in neutral strategies like straddle, strangle, ratios, calendar etc, delta can be very helpful. So be it any complex strategy, knowing the NET DELTA can give you an idea of how your strategy will perform in different scenarios. (4/n)

Net delta is just the sum of the deltas of all the bull options (call+ & put-) minus the bear options (call- & put+).

So if we can track this, we will always be in the know of how much exposed our position is. It makes it easier then to adjust our position. (5/n)

1/ I used to think that the biggest gains had to come from stocks that no one knew about

One of the harder lessons for me to internalize has been that oftentimes, unknown stocks stay unknown for a reason and you can still earn attractive returns from stocks everyone's bullish on

2/ While I’m not contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian, I do think it’s important to question everything.

When I started out, I would buy "quality" stocks like FB or TSLA without doing much research.

But an opinion being consensus doesn’t make it the truth.

3/ So owning the most popular stocks made me nervous. If a winner is so obvious then either it's priced in or maybe I'm missing something?

I preferred owning stocks that others weren’t aware of or were bearish on for the wrong reasons (more room for upside surprises).

4/ But there are degrees

Despite being widely popular, stocks like SHOP have been some of the best performers because they exceeded even the most bullish projections

And some stocks like TSLA are partly popular because they are great consumer products which is an important sign

5/ On the other hand, while the biggest winners can be found in micro-caps, many of which started out very undervalued with no analyst coverage, on average, they tend to underperform larger caps

Picking out the big winners earlier on is very difficult and there is no set formula

1. Make a Pvt Ltd Company.

Form a company with family members and trade under it. The family members should be directors of the company. Will explain why later.

Why form a company?
You will only need to pay 25% flat tax. Individuals have to pay 30% tax above 10 lakh profits.

2. Surcharge Benefits:

You will be charged a lower surcharge in a corporate account.

Total Tax Outlay:

The total tax outlay for individuals is 30% plus surcharge. If you really earn a lot (10 cr +) then you will be paying 42% tax.

Whereas in a company you'll be paying a maximum of 28% tax.

This is how rich people save a lot of their money by paying low taxes.

3. Expenses can be deducted.

All expenses can be deducted from a company account.

Companies:
1. First make a profit.
2. then deduct the expenses
3. & Pay tax on the remaining income

Individuals:
1. First Profit
2. Then Pay tax
3. Expenses with whatever is left.

IMPORTANCE OF SATYA NARAYAN KATHA AND ITS ORIGIN.

We all have heard and read the Satyanarayan katha. But none of us dont know the original stories that Shatanand or Sadhu or Kalavati must have heard. Also, as a habit we hear or read this katha


but dont know the proper way it should be conducted.

We find its mention in Skanda puraan(Reva khand) and Bhavishya Puraan(Pratisarg parva).
Both Bhagwatam and Gita call Bhagwan Narayan as Satv or Truth. So Satyanarayan denotes this name as the one which is Truth incarnate.

The story began in Naimisharanya when Vyasji asked Sutji about a way to eliminate all the sorrows and fulfill all the desires and about who is the devta who can grant these at the same time.

So Suutji first prayed to Bhagwan Satyanarayan who is no one else but Vishnu ji.

Then he remembered all his avatars.After that he narrated the story of Narad. Once while visiting Mrityulok, Naradji was pained to see the sufferings of People around. He was deeply moved by these sufferings and wanted to know the means by which we could rid ourselves from these.

So he went to Vishnu ji and after paying his respects stood in front of him. Naradji narrated the purpose of his visit.

So Bhagwan Vishnu said to him that in Satyug and Tretayug, Bhagwan eliminates sorrow in Vishnuswarup. In Dwapar he assumes different forms to help people.

RANI NAIKI DEVI AND THE BATTLE OF KASAHRADA

Mohammad Ghori, the young Ghurid Prince conquered Ghaznavids in Afghanistan in the year 1173 CE. He conducted some successful raids into the Indian territory, which even Mahmud Ghazni & the Persians couldn't do.


First&foremost,Ghori invaded states of Multan &Uch in India.After this he turned to southern states of Gujarat &Rajputana.Everybody knows this about Ghori,but what most pple r unaware of is the defeat he suffered at hands of Chalukyan Queen Naiki Devi in 1178 Battle of Kasahrada.


When he marched southwards, his first target was the prosperous fortified town of Anhilwara Patan.
It was the capital of Chalukyas(also known as Solankis of Gujarat) which was established by Vanraj of Chapotkata Dynasty in 8th century.


American historian Tertius Chandler states that it was the 10th largest city in the world at that time. The history of Chalukyas has been written by many historians, but the valour of the Great Queen Naiki Devi remains unsung.


Born to the Kadamba King Paramardin of Goa,Naiki Devi was well trained in sword fighting, horse riding, strategy & every other subject of Statesmanship. She was married to King Ajaypala of Gujarat who sat on throne in 1171CE. Unfortunately,the King died within 4 yrs of his rule.
