What is the Average Directional Movement
Index?

1. The average directional movement index was created by J. Welles Wilder in the 1970s.

2. The ADX combines two indicators to create a smoothed moving average that is then shown on your charts.

3. The two indicators are the positive directional indicator that is known as +DI and
the negative directional indicator that is known as -DI.

The ADX Indicator Formula
These are calculated with the price history of the previous high, low and close for the previous 14 periods ( default 14)
The average directional movement index is designed to show you the strength of a trend and not when a new trend is beginning.

Inside Bar (IB) is an effective trading strategy where a range is formed & we trade on a Breakout/Breakdown.

What is IB?

Textbook definition of IB:
When the current bar is trading inside the previous candle's high and low (range)

Here's a live example from the Tata Steel Chart where you can see multiple IB forming on 15 minutes chart.

I've marked 2 IBs in the circle where we can find the mother candle & the inside bar candle.

So how do we trade this?

If the overall trend is bullish, then you should be looking at high on the mother candle. When the mother candle's high is broken, you can place your SL at:
1. Low of the mother candle, or
2. Low of the Inside Bar candle.

Both the eg are in charts:

And Vice Versa for the Bearish bias.

If the overall trend is bearish, then you should be looking at low on the mother candle. When the mother candle's low is broken, you can place your SL at:
1. High of the mother candle, or
2. High of the Inside Bar candle.

I prefer keeping the high or low of the inside bar candle as my SL.

Remember there are 100s of ways to trade this, ultimately your position sizing & risk management will come into play.

Position sizing can be calculated using the SL, and risk can be managed.

Volume Expansion during Breakout
Pullbacks with Lower Volume
Base Formation ( Rectangle , Vcp Etc)
Relative Strength > 0
21 ema > 50 ema > 200 ema
Stocks near 52 week High
Stocks near All time High

What is HH HL Structure ?

1. A stock Maintains Bullish Momentum till it holds the last Swing .
2. Swings is an area from where stock reverses
3. As it is widely known Trend is your Friend A structure of Higher High is good for buying as overall momentum is in buying side

Previous Swings will now act as Resistance in Downtrend and Support in Uptrend

@scorpiomanojFRM To be more precise it works well on trending market i.e bull or bear market but not on side ways. In bear market when price is making Lower lows but RS is making higher high means time is up for bears and bull is ready. Vice versa for bull market.

Was long in IRCTC, all profit gone in a whisker, squared all of it went short double the quantity and recovered the the losses. Point am making, as a trader don’t be fixated with with direction just as flexible as you can be. We need profits as traders, don’t care how good my

3mnt chart. A setup I follow closely intraday. there were 8 candles before it hit the first circuit (5300). If you can't find the direction and the ferocity of the movement, from 6100-5300, thinking its difficult to capture, you are yet to be in the ring let alone fighting in it
