It appears that 1inch's governance token is right on the horizon.

1inch is the leading Ethereum-based decentralized exchange aggregator. Since its launch, it has done $7.6 billion in volume.

Here's a thread on what we know so far. 👇

 First off, some context:

1inch is a decentralized exchange aggregator that routes liquidity through a number of exchanges to find the optimal prices.

This is often useful for larger traders, who may need to spread their buys or sells across exchanges to minimize slippage.
e.g. Here is Three Arrows swapping 4,000,000 USDT for 4,001,307 TUSD via 1inch v2 around four weeks ago.
1inch does have quite a bit of traction, even though you may not hear about it sometimes.

Stats:

- $272m in seven-day volume
- $36.5m in seven-day volume

Yesterday, some sleuths spotted a contract on Ethereum pertaining to a "1inch" token.

The contract address: 0x111111111117dc0aa78b770fa6a738034120c302

Contained in the contract is this bit of ASCII art.
Today, we are seeing reports of users getting notifications to claim 1INCH.

Degenomics here got this notification, though got an error on MetaMask when he attempted to claim it.

So that appears to be the official it's just that claims are not live yet.

The timing makes sense:

At the start of December, 1inch announced it had closed a $12m round that involved ParaFi, Pantera, and other top funds in the space.

Uniswap closed its Series A six weeks before it launched its token.
Now, token economics.

Degenomics (tweet above) claims to *not have LPed* on Mooniswap, 1inch's CFMM AMM.

That suggests that all historical users may be getting a pro-rata retroactive distribution, maybe based on volume.

Check this update on the token from 1inch:
@FrankResearcher just found that it appears that Mooniswap liquidity providers will be earning 1INCH with a new liquidity mining program.

Early LPs should also earn 1INCH, based on the image in the tweet before this.

Found this a bit funny.

The address that deployed the 1INCH token contract got one ETH from Tornado 30 hours ago.
Ownership of the Mooniswap farming contracts seems to have been passed to this address:

Address holds 1,500,000 1INCH and 707 DAI that someone sent there accidentally (RIP).

So, here's my contrarian take on Why Trunk-Based Development Is Great But Probably Won't Work For You. Buckle up, it's a long one.

From time to time I talk about, or boost someone else's discussion of, "classical" continuous integration/trunk-based development/push-to-master/whatever. I do this because I've personally worked like this and I genuinely think it's a marvelous way to write software.

I've also, at this point in my career, failed—a bunch of times!—to bring this technique into practical use on the teams and organizations I've worked with. As a result, while I still do it myself, I don't focus as much on encouraging it in others.

The technoculture that's presently in vogue is what I think of as async/individual—optimize for the individual, performance-manage the individual, decouple the individual from others so they can be their best, most productive, most heroic selves.

This is in contrast to what I think of as sync/team—a culture that leans into interdependence and collaboration. If you've never worked on a team that collaborates very closely every day for months or years on end (and likes it) you've likely not experienced a team like this.

business used to be easiest to comprehend via a) market-based logic of horizontal vs. vertical STRUCTURE, b) professionalization/specialization based FUNCTION c) core competencies based BEHAVIORS

this has pretty much collapsed in the last decade

Structure = sclerosis
Functional specialization = bureaucracy
competencies = inertial habits

"Stack" thinking instead lets technology structure (rather than market structure) drive business org logic

Companies seem to do well when they identify an entire stack of technologies they are good at (not just point bits) and organize to conform to its logic. There is a "full-stack" dimension of technical specialization that is the spine of the org

It feels buzzwordy, but it really is getting to be that way. AI stack, decarbonization stack, mobility stack, electrification stack... some end-to-end pathway of turning physics into economics via layers of tech artistically baked together like a cake

I crucial step on the road towards AGI is a richer vocabulary for reasoning about inductive biases.

explores the apparent impedance mismatch between inductive biases and causal reasoning. But isn't the logical thinking required for good causal reasoning also not an inductive bias?

An inductive bias is what C.S. Peirce would call a habit. It is a habit of reasoning. Logical thinking is like a Platonic solid of the many kinds of heuristics that are discovered.

The kind of black and white logic that is found in digital computers is critical to the emergence of today's information economy. This of course is not the same logic that drives the general intelligence that lives in the same economy.

The best thing you can do is challenge disinformation and report posts where engagement isn’t appropriate. Many of these are blatantly racist posts designed to drive recruitment to NP and other Nationalist groups. By all means protest but stay safe.
