Samayapuram Mariamman Temple is located in Samayapuram of
 Tiruchirappalli district.  Mariyamman here is worshipped as Samayapurathal a form of Parashakti.
Amman vigraham here is made of sand and clay so

no abhishekam done to the main vigraham. Samayapuram Mariamman Temple is one of the famous Shakthi Sthal of Tamilnadu.

Story says that paramashiva created Kali, out of the poison that he drank during samudra mathanam.  As Devi originated from the Kaalakoota/ halahala poison,

thus the name Kaali. Mariamman is believed to be a form of Kaali, and is also known as Mahamayi. It is also believed that Maharaja Dasharatha offered his prayers here.

Mariamman is Parashakti herself who blesses with prosperity and she is believed to cure all diseases.

Paramashiva, Mahavishnu and Brahma Deva are believed to have taken blessings of Mariamman here.

We’ve all grown up listening to stories of Shri Krishna. This one is a famous story of Shri Krishna in Guruvayur Temple, also called Dakshina Dwaraka.

There lived a villager who planted coconut saplings and had promised that he would offer the 'first coconut' from each of his coconut trees to "Guruvayurappan". When the trees started to yield coconuts, he collected the first coconut from all the trees in a sack 👇

and set forth to Guruvayur.

On the way he was stopped by a robber who asked all the items in the sack. The villager told the robber that the coconuts in the sack belonged to Guruvayurappan and so he was unable to hand it over.

The robber with anger asked the villager "Is Guruvaurappan's coconut any different? Does it have horns ?".
Saying so the robber pulled the sack forcefully out of the villager's hand, and coconuts came out..👇

To their astonishment each and every coconut in the sack had horns! Even today, the coconut with horns are displayed in the temple for devotees to see.

Mangottu Bhagavathi Temple is situated in Athipotta near Alathur of palakkad district. Devi is kshipraprasadi here and grants relief to those who worship with full faith.

Story says that, once there lived a weaver named Kuttan who was a Devi Bhaktan. During one festival time Kuttan was so pleased by the Devi Vigraham that he requested her to come along with him. At that time wind blew heavily and Cloths

in Vigraham flew. Kuttan immediately decorated Devi with his cloth which stuck to Vigraham and returned to his village and with his Umbrella. Devi came with him in that Umbrella and stayed in his place. This place is Mangottu Bhagavathi temple now.

The form which was revealed to Devaki and Vasudeva. Vigraham is made out of a special stone called Patala Anjana.

Sthala Puranam says that Vigraham was made by Mahavishnu himself and handed over to Brahma Deva, who transferred it to King Sutapas

and his wife.
After many generations the Vigraham was worshipped by Vasudeva & Devaki and later prathista done at Dwaraka by Krishna. When Dwaraka was flooded the Vigraham was given to Udhava and Krishna instructed Guru (Brihaspati) & Vayu to do prathista in a suitable

suitable place to worship during Kali yuga.

Parashurama lead them here which was a beautiful pond of Paramashiva & Parvati Devi. Shiva gave permission for Guru & Vayu to built a temple here, thus the name Guruvayur (Guru+ Vayu).

Paramashiva & Parvati Devi is worshipped at Mammiyur nearby and the worship at Guruvayur is not complete if one does not visit Mammiyur Mahadevan. Ekadasi is very important here.

Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple

Mudigere Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple is located in Hassan Dt. of Karnataka. Narasimhar is in Yogasana posture & thus worshipped as Yoga Narasimhar about 7 ft tall. Lakshmi Varaha Swamy prathista is done to calm Narasimhar.

Temple is constructed in Hoysala style architecture. Manjekaapu seva (turmeric) alankaram for Narasimhar Swamy at this temple is very famous.

Sthala Puranam is says Ugra bhavam of Narasimhar. Before opening Garbha Griham people used to place green husk in front of the door.

The green husk would catch fire because of the Ugra murthy. Thus to calm down ugra murthy, prathista of Lakshmi Varaha Swamy is done here. Before opening Narasimha sannidhi, Lakshmi Varaha sannidhi is opened first & prathista is done such a way that drishti of Narasimhar falls

Straight to Lakshmi vahara murthy.

Narasimha Jayanti is very famous here. Pillars in the temple depicts the brilliant Hoysala architecture.
