"Stop Loss Hunting...."

Noticing So many Examples of SL Hunting Nowadays in Markets. So, Making a Thread to Explain it Best to my Abilities. Also Attaching most Recent Example in NIFTY from last week...

 What Is SL Hunting...??

Stop Hunting is a trading strategy that involves triggering the SL orders of other traders in the market to trigger a 'Temporary High-Volatility Environment'.
Official Definition.
In Simple Words, Common thinking of Most traders is Same. So Whatever Strategy They're using, It Involves Putting A SL at Predictable levels.
i.e. Previous Swing High or Low, Below the Support ,Above the Resistance, Etc.
So when Enough Traders Enter with SL in One trade, Expecting a same move,
They Preset these Obvious Levels as their SLs resulting in Forming a Cluster of Stop Losses. Just like so many Fish come together at point of traps.
This is Example of 15 Oct NIFTY. Price is Showing Clear Uptrend. Also Crossed Range Of Yesterday's high. So Many Traders get Convinced about Upmove n Start to Enter With SL of 30-35 Points. So, New traders Entered here Put SL of Around 11390-11395 levels.
But, What Happened..??
Price Jumped Almost 40 Points, made low of 11387 and Bounced right Back to 11420.
The 2nd Doji Candle Happened in matter Of seconds.
It Stayed Between 11410 Zones for Little while. So Traders Got Confused about Direction and Couldn't build-up Conviction To ENTER Neither side of a Trade. And Boom....
50+ Points Upmove.
So why the Hell Price went Down If it had to Go Up in the First Place...??
Answer is Simple. Operators or Big Players just want a 'Better Fill' to their Orders. They have Nothing against the Retailers. It happens Every Now and then in specific Stocks..and will keep happening...
How to Avoid Our SL being Hunted..??
Well. First Thing, SL should be at a Place where Possibility of Clear Trend reversal is High..
And 2nd,, Entry Should be Only After Retest of Trend. Entering in excitement just after 1st Breakout Doesn't result in Good Outcome Everytime.
Your Thinking has to be 'Just a little Smart' than Other Traders.
Only Then u can Survive these Kind Of Markets...

Here is the detailed information of about strategy,

Entry time : 9.30 - 10
Exit : Upto you

Strategy :
Sell weekly ATM CE & PE at almost equal price
For ex : Sell Nifty 17250 CE at 50 and Nifty 17250 PE at 48 so it will become short straddle

Buy monthly ATM or near ATM CE & PE at matching price (5-10 points diff should be fine) as hedge
For ex : Buy Nifty 17250 CE at 150 and Nifty 17300 PE at 155 so it will become long straddle.

Weekly Short straddle + Monthly Long straddle

Adjustment:

• If you feel slightly bullish/bearish then no adjustment needed
• If Nifty moves 50 up or down and sustain then just simply roll up or down half of qnty and keep rest of the quantity. If market goes up or down further then roll up or down rest.

• If Nifty moves one side or about to breach BEP then add equal amount of lot. This can balance tested side. For ex: If I bought 17300 CE 4 lot as hedge then add 4 lot so you will have only one side risk . Note: Remember to keep SL at cost price (only for additional lot bought)

Capital requirement:
2.2 L for 4 lot
Adjustment requires additional capital upto 1L

If you are the CEO or CFO at a business who banks with SVB; here are some things you CAN do over the weekend

1. Build a 4 week rolling daily receipts and payments style cashflow forecast.

2. Gear up finance team to actualize & reforecast every AM by 10am

3. Schedule a Daily Cash Management Crisis call for 10am every day. CEO to chair

4. Redirect any future cash receipts / revenue into non SVB accounts. Don’t throw fresh money on the fire.

5. If SVB is your only current bank. Open accounts with 2 other AA or A rated banks.

6. Go supplier by supplier and grade them a, b or c
a - showstoppers
b - pay if you can
c - don’t pay

You want as few a’s as possible, ideally none.

7. Find out how to get your $250k FDIC cash.

8. If you are able to pull any deposits or bonds back into a non SVB account. Do it. Put hands on any liquid you can.

9. Communicate a salary deferral plan with your top team. CEO takes the most pain $ and %. Important signal.

10. Elevate sign off of all new POs to CEO and CFO jointly. Don’t sign any off.

11. Make a list of ‘survival headcount’. The bare minimum on which the business can operate.

You may need this to prioritize payroll later.

I got a Toshiba T1200, which has a bad screen, and a dead CMOS battery, and I thought the hard drive was broken too...


but I rebooted it and heard a KTHUNK and a really loud spin-up noise and holy shit, the hard drive works!


and it still has files on it. the newest date is January 1994.


It's a 21mb hard drive, with ~37k of bad sectors.

This fucker is never going to spin up again, so I better go find some serial cables and copy shit off now.

A thread on how absurd the UK is on transgender issues and how the UK got so transphobic

In 2015 Parliament held an inquiry looking into the state of Transgender equality. Trans people of all stripes outlined many different problems across many, many different areas.

As a result Parliament created a list of recommendations including legal recognition for non binary people, gender recognition act reform, allowing 16 year olds to change their legal gender and reform of NHS gender identity services.

The government under Theresa May ignored everything that was recommended except for Gender recognition act reform. This act came into law in 2003 and gave trans men and women (but not non-binary people) the ability to legally change their gender on their birth certificates.

The process at that time to change your birth certificate under the GRA was to make an application to a panel of cisgender people who would decide if you were sufficiently trans based on your payslips, photo ID and bank statements. You would not get the option to speak to them.

(Also this process cost £140 which is just a tax on being trans)

NARHARI AND BHAGWAN PANDURANG/VITTHAL

Once a goldsmith by the name of Narhari lived in Pandharpur. He excelled in his craft. He had vowed not to look at Pandurang or visit his mandir ever, as he was a Shiva Bhakt.
One day, a wealthy merchant visited him.


He wanted a gold girdle studded with precious gems, to be made for Prabhu Vitthal. Narhari refused to make it as it was for Vitthal.
After many requests, he agreed to make the girdle but asked the merchant to bring the measurement from the mandir as he himself would not go there


The measurement was given n he made the girdle. When the girdle was put on Vitthal, it was loose. Narhari had to shorten it. Now the girdle became tight. So Narhari was forced to take measurement on his own. He had to go to the mandir but went blindfolded to avoid seeing Vitthal


In the Mandir, when blindfolded Narhari touched Vitthal, he felt as if he was touching Shiva with matted hair, the moon, snake in His neck and Trishul in His hand. Ecstatic with joy, he removed the blindfold to see Shiva but he found the murti of Vitthal with Rukmini there.


He realised the truth that there was no difference between Vitthal and Shiva. Narhari at once fell at the feet of Panduranga. He then took the measurement of the waist of Vitthal and this time the ornament fit the Murti perfectly.
