Zika Virus spread to people through mosquito bite It is an Arbovirus, arbovirus is the group of virus which are transmitted by the bite of infected insects such as Mosquitoes,
It was first identified in the Zika forest near Kampala, Uganda in rhesus monkey in 1947.

Ayurveda and Vitiligo🙏🏻
Vitiligo is a skin whitening disease, It is a gradual loss of "Melanin" pigment from the skin layers
resulting white patches on the surface of skin. Vitiligo is a autoimmune disorder.
It usually starts with a small spot that later spreads into patches.

Due to the loss of pigment from the skin, the patches become whiter and each patch merge one another creating a broad patch. In some cases it spreads all over the body.
Vitiligo generally appears due to inactivity of melanocytes
cells which stop melanin production

It is also related to autoimmunity where body’s protective mechanism starts to destroy its own cells.

⚪Autoimmune Disorder
⚪Neural Causes
⚪Allergy to Chemicals
⚪Due to Critical Sunburn

💠Physiology of Melanin Pigment.
In human skin melanin is produced from the amino-acid
named tyrosin by the action of copper-containing enzyme
tyrosinase. This enzyme is present in the melanocytes,
which are located in the basal cell layer.

It transfers its pigment to the keratinising cells of the epidermis by means of their dendrite processes. In vitiligo this pigment is lost along with the keratinised cell during exfoliation of skin.

🙏🏼Tulsi🙏🏼
The Vedic literature of Bharat recognizes tulsi as the most effective herb having its own medicinal properties. Since generations of mankind, tulsi leaves and its other parts are being utilized for the treatment of various diseases. And yes, Tulsi is native to Bharat.

It is also called as holy basil for its great medicinal and purified properties present in it.
It is also used for essential oils
and herbal tea.
The name ‘Tulsi” in Sanskrit means ‘the incomparable one’. The presence of a tulsi plant at home represents samskara of a family.

🌅Scientific quality of Tulsi.
Tulsi contains phytochemical constituents like olealonic acid, β-caryophyllene. its health ailing characteristics like maintaining of blood pressure,
treatment of cough and cold, gastrointestinal disease has increased its value at pharmacies.

It is advised to intake tulsi leaves as it acts as a stress buster, refreshes the mood and also helps in
weight loss. The plant is rich in tannins, phenols, aldehydes, fats and saponin. It is also rich in many
essential oil components like eugenol, ecarvacrol, etc.

🌅Propagation of Growth.
Tulsi plant is generally propagated from its seeds and cuttings. Due to high cross pollination the seeds
get detoriated. Its cultivated in varied soil conditions and temperatures due to its unique growth feature and non-competitive nature

Battle of Sarangpur,
Between Rana Kumbha and Mahmud Khilji.
Rana Ji was the son of Rana Mokal Singh by his wife, Sobhagya Devi.
He was the 48th Rana of Mewar and succeeded Rana Mokal Singh in the year 1433 CE as the ruler of Mewar.

One of the assasionator of Rana Kumbha's father, Mahpa Panwar was given shelter by Mahumud Khilji, who was the sultan of Mandu.
Rana Ji demanded Mahpa Panwar from Mahmud Khilji, but he refused.
This was the main reason for Rana Kumbha to attack Mandu.

In 1437 AD, both the army met at Sarangpur, in which the army of Rana Kumbha crushed the army of Mahmud Khilji, after this defeat Khilji's army fled in all the direction.
Rana Ji captured Kjilji and brought him to Chittorgarh where he was kept in jail for 6 months.

To commemorate this victory Rana Kumbha built the great Vijay stambha in Chittorgarh.

Ayurveda and Surgery 🙏
🌅History of surgery in Ayurveda.
In Sushruta Samhita written by Sushruta(~600 BCE),detailed explanations of surgical instruments, different types of incisions, different suturing and bandaging techniques, fracture
reductions, techniques of foreign body

extraction and surgical management of obstructed labour are found. The original textbook written by Sushruta was later redacted by Nagarjuna(400-500 CE) and was amended by Chandrata thereafter(10th century CE).Banaras happened to be the place where
Sushruta practiced surgery.

He described the extracapsular
surgical technique of cataract extraction using a sharply pointed
instrument. This is one of the earliest documented surgical
approaches to treat cataract. Sushruta’s technique of reconstruction surgery was in use among Vaidyas even during the

Colonial rule.
A case report of a Vaidya using forehead flap to reconstruct the nose was published as a letter to the editor in the Gentleman’s Magazine in 1794. This in fact made western world aware of this technique.

🌅Recent history of surgical practice by Ayurveda.
While practice of Ayurveda medicine continued uninterruptedly, the surgical practice came to a standstill due to multitude of
reasons including the advent of Buddhist philosophy and social
prejudice against surgery.

Sri Gurubhyo Namah.
Some tweets on Adi Shankaracharya and in particular the Guru Parampara of @sringerimath. [I had done this series earlier 5 years ago on account of Shishya Sweekaram].

Adi Shankara established the Sringeri Peetham as the 1st of 4 amnaaya peetams.

The four being
1. Sarada Peetam at Sringeri.
2. Govardhana Peetam at Puri
3. Kalika at Dwaraka
4. Jyothir at Badarikashramam.

He installed his 4 most prominent shishyas as heads of the peetams.

Sureshwaracharya was assigned to Sringeri as its head.

Sringeri is a corruption of Rshyashrunga giri.

Rshyashrunga maharshi [and his father Sri Vibandhaka Maharshi] did their tapas at this place.

It is at Sringeri that Shankara spent 12 of His precious 32 years!!

That gives you and idea how much He loved this place.

Rshyashruga maharshi had a horn on his forehead, a result of being born to a deer. His mere presence was enough to shower rains!!

Rshyashrunga was one who led Putrakamesthi Yaagam of Dasaratha Maharaj and which resulted in Sri Rama's birth!!

• This shloka to meditate personified form of वेदमाता गायत्री was given by Bhagwaan Brahma to Sage yAgnavalkya (याज्ञवल्क्य).

• 14th shloka of गायत्री कवचम् which is taken from वशिष्ठ संहिता, goes as follows..

• मुक्ता-विद्रुम-हेम-नील धवलच्छायैर्मुखस्त्रीक्षणै:।
muktA vidruma hEma nIla dhavalachhAyaiH mukhaistrlkShaNaiH.

• युक्तामिन्दुकला-निबद्धमुकुटां तत्वार्थवर्णात्मिकाम्॥
yuktAmindukalA nibaddha makutAm tatvArtha varNAtmikam.

• गायत्रीं वरदाभयाङ्कुश कशां शुभ्रं कपालं गदाम्।
gAyatrIm vardAbhayANkusha kashAm shubhram kapAlam gadAm.

• शंखं चक्रमथारविन्दयुगलं हस्तैर्वहन्ती भजै॥
shankham chakramathArvinda yugalam hastairvahantIm bhajE.

This shloka describes the form of वेदमाता गायत्री.

• It says, "She has five faces which shine with the colours of a Pearl 'मुक्ता', Coral 'विद्रुम', Gold 'हेम्', Sapphire 'नील्', & a Diamond 'धवलम्'.

• These five faces are symbolic of the five primordial elements called पञ्चमहाभूत:' which makes up the entire existence.

• These are the elements of SPACE, FIRE, WIND, EARTH & WATER.

• All these five faces shine with three eyes 'त्रिक्षणै:'.

MAHARAJA CHHATRASAL BUNDELA was the great Bundela King who revolted against the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.
Chhatrasal Bundela was born in year 1649 CE in Maur Hill of Bundela region to Champat Rai and Lal Kunwar. He was the descendent of Rudra Pratap of Orchha.

His ancesters were the vassals of Mughal Emperor. He drew inspiration from his father and revolted against the alien rule of Mughals. He was just 12 yrs old when his parents died in fight against the Mughal Army of Aurangzeb in 1661.

When his beloved father attained martyrdom in the year 166, the young Chatrasal was present in the last battle of his father against the Mughal and from these valiant campaigns,..

..he gathered the courage to free Bundelkhand from Aurangzeb’s rule.
He joined the Mughals initially, and was recommended by the Rajput King Mirza Jai Singh to be recruited in the Mughal Army in order to support their Deccan Campaigns.

But serving the alien rule of Mughals which brought chaos and misery to Bundelkhand was unacceptable for Chatrasal Bundela and his father’s incessant struggle against the Mughals kept the fire of independent Bundelkhand alive in his heart.
