Many years ago, Brahma lost his head slightly. He began to imagine that he was superior to Shiva and Vishnu. He told all the sages, “I am the supreme godhead. There is no one else but me.”

While Brahma was thus instructing the sages, Vishnu arrived and was enraged at Brahma’s behaviour. “You are indeed ignorant,” he told Brahma. “I am the supreme godhead. You are only the creator. But I am, after all, the preserver.”

Maja Daruwala: We found that in most areas - vacancies, number of undertrials, overburdening of courts etc. - they remained very much as they are.

Only 30% of prisoners were convicts, the study showed, Daruwala points out, among other findings.

Last year the report had been confined to broad suggestions, but this year specific suggestions have been made since there has been a pandemic, Daruwala says.

It really breaks my heart to write this, but Nazmuddin Khan sahib, on whom I wrote a chapter (probably my favourite one) in Remnants, is no more. Born in 1929 in Delhi's Hauz Rani, he passed away just short of 92 years. 1/

We didn't meet often, but when we did, he called me Munni. He was the first person to make me realize that my work was not merely on objects or Partition, but rather on identity and belonging. True belonging to land and home and soil; a belonging for the living and the dead. 2/

While working on his chapter, there were things I was confronted with that I’d never thought of before - things that made me feel small, made me question my privilege, my safety, and the lived difference between nationalism, patriotism and fanaticism. 3/

He may have been an ordinary person who lived an ordinary life, but the lessons from that life were extraordinary and I hope his words reach the far corners of the world to help us become more empathetic and accepting humans. This is his legacy, his hopeful heart. 4/

The insidious thing about how people gaslight Hindus about the erasure of our ancestors' oppression is that they often do it in soft and civil(izing) tones. And it always comes from people who seem to otherwise care about oppression, people who are "well read" and "progressive".

Theirs is a quiet violence, clear and flowing as if it were beautiful and natural and peaceful, even as it corrodes and expands the edges of the hollowness created by lies. Silencing is a kind of acid.

Except how do people move on from something they are either never told to study or told to never study? How do they move on from a past that is far worse than what they’ve been told (or not told)? How do they move on from a past that keeps reinventing itself today?

Sometimes when I speak of the erasure of Hindu persecution, I am gently, smugly corrected (it is always done civilly), "Indu, the information is there. No one is trying to hide it."

Rahīm not only helped the man but also sent a humble letter to Tulasīdāsa thanking him for the opportunity to be of service.

Tulasīdāsa wrote him back:

सीखे कहाँ रहीम जी
देनी ऐसी देन

त्यों त्यों नीचे नैन?

To which Rahīm wrote back to Tulasīdāsa:

#RajmataJijabai mother of Shivaji, the bravest Maratha ever. She devoted her entire life for the country and religion. She had wished if a leader could be born who could unite Hindus and longed that her son would do it!

Jijabai wished so because she saw people falling into poverty in the once rich land and the culture being disintegrated. She felt angry seeing men around her, who couldn't protect the women and the children. They couldn't protect the country and their religion.

When she was pregnant, she used to say this prayer - "O Mother of the Universe, give me some of your strength. Put an end to the pride of the Marathas in the shameful service to the Muslims. Grant our lands independence. Grant that my wish be fulfilled, O Mother."

Every comfort was conferred upon her when she was pregnant but she wished for none of it. Her mind was full of thoughts and things she wanted to do, like wielding a sword, slaying the enemies, climbing to the tops of forts on hills, putting on armour and riding on horse..

8. Hello Sir ji..! Your job is not to solve a problem (but to judicially decide a case on merits). That would mean you don't want to annoy any party. You want to please everyone. Sorry! you are not here to please people U are here to interpret existing Law & pronounce a judgment.

9. Your job is to say who is right and who is wrong. That's all. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Why have 300 million people been protesting in India? A few people have asked me about this so thought I’d offer a handy summary thread (1/22)

Small farmers make up 60% of India’s working population and are routinely romanticized as the backbone of the country. Nonetheless, decades of policy have given them a raw deal (2/22)

From the 1960s, innovations in agriculture (like pesticides and GM seeds) massively increased food production in India. But they also increased the need for small farmers to take out loans to pay for expensive seeds and equipment so they could produce competitively. (3/22)

These loans, with punitive repayment programmes, have dragged much of the farming population into debt spirals that have led to increased poverty, loss of dignity and, most notably, 300,000 suicides (4/22)

With US having vaccinated 9M+ and India starting it's vaccination plan soon (Jan 16th) some have started scaremongering about vaccines via alarmist WhatsApp forwards, FB/Twitter posts and other social media platforms

Most of the cases of severe reaction to vaccine have been mostly Anaphylaxis which is a severe, (in some cases potentially life-threatening allergic reaction) It can occur after exposure to allergen which can be peanut, shellfish, bee sting etc. or even contents of a vaccine.

CDC guidelines clearly state that patients should be monitored for anaphylaxis at vaccination sites and also prescribes protocols on what steps to

Recommendations include urging sites where vaccines are given to be ready to handle anaphylaxis cases, including by having epinephrine. People who have been vaccinated should stay to be monitored for 15 minutes if they have no history of allergy and 30 minutes if they do.

Based on initial vaccination data it is estimated that probability of suffering anaphylaxis is 11.1 per million i.e. 0.00111% (i.e. extremely rare condition)

Meenakshi Arora (amicus curiae) : The water quality level as on January 18 was excellent. Ammonium levels were in control. If that can be maintained, it will be good.

Arora submits that the NGT has appointed a river monitoring committee for Yamuna river and requests court to call for a report from the committee.

Furthermore I found several holes within Buddhist narrative .
Eg - Balaji idol is Buddha's and Vaishnavas converted it later iwth hindu symbols on it.
I investigated and found - Balaji has four arms - no statue of buddha has four arms.
