I have worked all day on the Holiday Inn Cluster timeline

The first case was reported late on Feb 7
This was the Authorised Officer who tested negative after a shift on Feb 4, returned to work on the 7th, developed symptoms and tested positive

A cohort of her colleagues were then required to test and quarantine

The next case to emerge was a guest at the hotel who left HQ on Dec 7 after completing their 14 days

They were tested as a result of the AO testing positive

That result came back on the 9th
On the 9th it was also determined that the viral genome sequence for the AO case was identical to a family of 3 who had been at the Holiday Inn

All had B.1.1.7 VOC

That family was transferred to a hot hotel on Feb 4
Feb 3 and 4 are now believed to be the exposure dates relevant to the beginning of the cluster

The father in the family of 3 was admitted to ICU on the 9th
As of Feb 14 there are 16 cases linked back to the Holiday Inn but there is a sub cluster linked to a Private Dining event in Coburg on Feb 6 for 5 of those cases

The intersection point is a hotel quarantine worker and it is a little confusing as the TLs overlap
On Saturday Feb 13 a new case was reported whose positive result came in overnight

A man in his 30s from the Coburg area who had been at a Private Dining function on the 6th

38 guests and staff at the function were told to quarantine that night

He was also a friend of a HQW
The HQW had worked on the 7th and tested negative at the end of the shift

The night before, the 6th, she had been at the Dinning Function

As an identified close contact through her work at the Holiday Inn she quarantined on the 9th and tested on the 10th which was positive
Because she had apparently been negative on the 7th her infectious period did not extend back to the 6th and the Private Dining Function was therefore not included as an exposure site
When the man in his 30s tested positive contacts tracers linked him to the HQW and both to the function on the 6th

They retested the HQW's Feb 7th sample and it returned a weak positive leading investigators to conclude the first test was a false negative (a rarity)
Linked to the Dining Event there are now 5 positive cases

The HQW who is presumably now the source for that event
Her partner and a house mate

And today we learned of a 3 yo child and a woman in her 50s from separate households who have tested positive
The mother of the 3 yo is under investigation after a series of tests

I hope that makes it a bit clearer to see the connections and the timeline

More from Society

Like most movements, I have learned that the definition of feminism has expanded to include simply treating women like human beings.

(A thread for whoever feels like reading)

I have observed feminists on Twitter advocating for rape victims to be heard, rapists to be held accountable, for people to address the misogyny that is deeply rooted in our culture, and for women to be treated with respect.

To me, very easy things to get behind.

And the amount of pushback they receive for those very basic requests is appalling. I see men trip over themselves to defend rape and rapists and misogyny every chance they get. Some accounts are completely dedicated to harassing women on this site. It’s unhealthy.

Furthermore, I have observed how dedicated these misogynists are by how they treat other men that do not immediately side with them. There is an entire lexicon they have created for men who do not openly treat women with disrespect.

Ex: simp, cuck, white knight, beta

All examples of terms they use to demean a man who respects women.

To paraphrase what a wise man on this app said:

Some men hate women so much, they hate men who don’t hate women
