I’m his front desk, digital marketer, social media handler, content creator, graphics designer, food warmer, food buyer, plate washer, office cleaner as a matter of fact and I also go to work on Saturdays
Warming and going to buy food for him WAS NOT

Part of my job description, I was doing it because of course nobody wants to stay at home and I’m not the type to sit and ask anybody for anything, I like to hustle
Now straight to the story
Mr Patric got in to the office at 3pm I exactly today and went
Straight into his office(he had visitors)
I usually ask him if he wanted me to order his food or buy but it was already 3pm so I felt he must have eaten from where he was coming from and also if he wanted food he’ll ask me to order, I was on my desk as
Usual up until 4:49pm my colleague comes to call me that mr Patric was calling me, getting there, he said I should go buy food for him, knowing fully well it was almost time to go home, I collected the card calmly and left with the driver to buy food,
I didn’t take my phone Cos I rushed out so I could quickly buy the food and rush back to go home, getting there I realized I had forgotten the pin, the driver was not with his phone, I checked the car and found his car papers, found his number and was walking
Around like a mad person looking for who would borrow me their phone to call him and ask for his pin, mind you I had already bought the food, just to pay and leave, I managed to find a security guy who gave me his phone, called him and he gave me his pin
I went back inside the fast food and the card got declined(insufficient funds) I didn’t want to call him again because that would mean me going back to beg for a phone to call me Patric again, so i decided to go back to the office and explain to him what had
Happened
Getting to the office, I went straight into his office and was trying to explain, I didn’t finish what I was saying he said he didn’t care, that I should go back and buy him his food, that why didn’t I call him, I said
“I cannot got back sir, it’s already my closing time” he said thank you and I walked back to my desk to pack my things, while I was doing that, he came out from him office and was like I should give back the company whatever of theirs I had with me, I
Responded “I don’t take home whatever that belongs to the company sir, everything is in here and please you’ll have to pay me for the month I’ve worked” he said okay that’s fine(in anger) He was in my way because I had shoes I wear at work and I was looking
For a plastic bag to pack them, I said “excuse me sir, I need to pack my stuff” he said “are you mad, who do you think you’re talking to?
I responded “excuse me sir, you’re in my way”
Next thing he screamed”GET OUT OF MY OFFICE and flung my bag,
I responded”sir, don’t touch me please, next thing, he pinned me down with his hands on my neck on our office couch and gave two slaps, I gained ground and slapped him back, his glasses fell from his face breaking, his visitor came to hold him, he picked up
His shoe and wanted to hit me with it, I was cursing him out that he was a coward and didn’t have any right to touch me, he was still screaming, calling me brat, dirty and useless
I picked up my things and was about leaving, even after people were asking him
To calm down, he asked the gate man not to let me out of the compound and they should search my bag, that he was looking for the phone, I spent 20minutes at the gate because the gate man wouldn’t let me out claiming he needed instructions from him to let me out
After he found the phone he asked him to let me out
Oh, my phone also got broken in the process
Here are the pictures....
Mind you, the person that have worked in that position have never spent up to 4months there, I am the first person, the others leave after two weeks, I stayed because I want to work and begin my career
Please guys, I need your help
I’m devastated

Two things can be true at once:
1. There is an issue with hostility some academics have faced on some issues
2. Another academic who himself uses threats of legal action to bully colleagues into silence is not a good faith champion of the free speech cause

I have kept quiet about Matthew's recent outpourings on here but as my estwhile co-author has now seen fit to portray me as an enabler of oppression I think I have a right to reply. So I will.

I consider Matthew to be a colleague and a friend, and we had a longstanding agreement not to engage in disputes on twitter. I disagree with much in the article @UOzkirimli wrote on his research in @openDemocracy but I strongly support his right to express such critical views

I therefore find it outrageous that Matthew saw fit to bully @openDemocracy with legal threats, seeking it seems to stifle criticism of his own work. Such behaviour is simply wrong, and completely inconsistent with an academic commitment to free speech.

I am not embroiling myself in the various other cases Matt lists because, unlike him, I think attention to the detail matters and I don't have time to research each of these cases in detail.

There is no better way of learning the craft of product, or proving your potential to employers, than just doing it.

You do not need anybody's permission. We don't have diplomas, nor doctorates. We can barely agree on a single standard of what a Product Manager is supposed to do.

But – there is at least one blindingly obvious industry consensus – a Product Manager makes Products.

And they don't need to be kept at the exact right temperature, given endless resource, or carefully protected in order to do this.

They find their own way.
Great article from @AsheSchow. I lived thru the 'Satanic Panic' of the 1980's/early 1990's asking myself "Has eveyrbody lost their GODDAMN MINDS?!"

The 3 big things that made the 1980's/early 1990's surreal for me.

1) Satanic Panic - satanism in the day cares ahhhh!

2) "Repressed memory" syndrome

3) Facilitated Communication [FC]

All 3 led to massive abuse.

"Therapists" -and I use the term to describe these quacks loosely - would hypnotize people & convince they they were 'reliving' past memories of Mom & Dad killing babies in Satanic rituals in the basement while they were growing up.

Other 'therapists' would badger kids until they invented stories about watching alligators eat babies dropped into a lake from a hot air balloon. Kids would deny anything happened for hours until the therapist 'broke through' and 'found' the 'truth'.

FC was a movement that started with the claim severely handicapped individuals were able to 'type' legible sentences & communicate if a 'helper' guided their hands over a keyboard.
