Let's start with ** BOOKS **

1) The Intelligent Investor - Ben Graham :

Classic book, suggested by investors all over the world. Start with this book.

2) One up on Wall Street

Peter Lynch covers his strategies to find 10 baggers, and describes how an average Joe can do as well as the pros with simple methods and rock solid discipline and consistency backing it.

3) Common Stocks Uncommon Profits

This is a Phil Fisher classic.

It's on the other end of the spectrum as the book dives into a deep qualitative approach in value investing rather than being fully quantitative like Ben Graham's.

4) Security Analysis

Another book by Ben Graham that dives deep into analysing and understanding the valuations of any company you pick up to study.

How you can filter stocks for Intraday trades - 🧵

As a kid, we would do homework before school the next day - you have to do homework here too. A specific sector performs on a particular day and studying things a day before will help you spot that particular sector. (1/11)

To prepare for the next trading day, you got to check the Index charts of all sectors. You got to keep an eye on a specific Index if you see a few factors:

- If any Index closed exactly at the resistance, you can get a trade on either side on the next day. (2/11)

- If it gave a rejection candle at resistance.

- If any Index closed exactly at support, you can get a trade on either side the following day.

- If there was a bullish signal at the support.

- If any Index gave a breakout or breakdown and then gave a good closing. (3/11)

- If any Index has taken support at 50 or 200 EMA.

Once you spot the Index, look at all the stocks in that particular Index. Pick at least 3-4 stocks from that Index and add them to your watchlist for the next day. It's ideal to check both higher and lower timeframes. (4/11)

What you should do next day? (When I am unable to check Indices and stocks a day before, I sometimes directly start with this process.)

- Start with checking the top gainers/losers list. I observe market from 9:15 to 9:45am to check the sectors performing well on that day.(5/11)

Inside Bar (IB) is an effective trading strategy where a range is formed & we trade on a Breakout/Breakdown.

What is IB?

Textbook definition of IB:
When the current bar is trading inside the previous candle's high and low (range)

Here's a live example from the Tata Steel Chart where you can see multiple IB forming on 15 minutes chart.

I've marked 2 IBs in the circle where we can find the mother candle & the inside bar candle.

So how do we trade this?

If the overall trend is bullish, then you should be looking at high on the mother candle. When the mother candle's high is broken, you can place your SL at:
1. Low of the mother candle, or
2. Low of the Inside Bar candle.

Both the eg are in charts:

And Vice Versa for the Bearish bias.

If the overall trend is bearish, then you should be looking at low on the mother candle. When the mother candle's low is broken, you can place your SL at:
1. High of the mother candle, or
2. High of the Inside Bar candle.

I prefer keeping the high or low of the inside bar candle as my SL.

Remember there are 100s of ways to trade this, ultimately your position sizing & risk management will come into play.

Position sizing can be calculated using the SL, and risk can be managed.
