As promised, here is a thread on how I use @unusual_whales to help me find actionable plays.

Please note that these are TOOLS, they are not a magic perfect tool for you to get rich quick. There will be winners, there will be losers.

1. The Live Flow

I use this tool by far the most. Here is where I identify all of the big moving transactions happening in the market. I generally look for Strikes that are OTM and are weekly or bi-weekly expirations, this shows urgency.

Minimum Premium - For me, I set my minimum premium at $200,000

Emoji's - All selected besides Bid Side, ETF, Monthly, and Leaps.

EXPIRY - Nearest 4-5 Dates

Ask Side - ON
Bid Side - OFF
Exclude Deep ITM - ON

I use this tool at night to prep for the following day. I scan through it watching for anything that pops out at me, when it does I immediately check that tickers flow (more on that next). If I see things jumping out at me that skews the stock bull/bear with strength, I chart.

2. Ticker Flow

I start by looking at the 1K, 5K, 15K, and 30K to get a good feel for the volume for each expiry and strike price. I then go to the history to look at the options breakdown for each day. I mainly focus on Call Prem %, anything over 65%

Traders who are trading in cash and want to explore options generally start with options buying without much knowledge. They buy OTM strikes and trade with wrong position sizing. With no idea about the perfect entry, they end up feeling that F&O is risky. (2/25)

After losses in F&O buying, this is how I approached it and it rewarded me pretty well in initial phase. I find this strategy easy to start things off. And then, you can explore other strategies too and find what works for you. (3/25)

Vertical spread is a directional, defined risk options trading strategy:
1. Bull call spread (Debit spread)
2. Bull put spread (Credit spread)
3. Bear call spread (Credit spread)
4. Bear put spread (Debit spread)

Here's a breakdown of his 10 step method: 🧵

1. Why trade via spreads?

Overnight risk will be always capped
Limited Risk will keep you cool
Hedge our position

Strictly not to do for margin, as that will lead to overleveraging.

Traders Sell option for 100 and buy 10 rs option.

That is for margin reduction, not a spread.

2. Circuit:

If the market opens at the lower circuit or upper circuit, then our loss should be limited.

Eg - Expiry Trading on the 24th Feb Expiry

The market gapped down & traders lost huge sums of money.

Some lost 15% or 20% of their capital in a 4% index move.

If in 4% people are losing so huge then imagine if Modi says black money is back, we will open at an upper circuit.

If India-Pakistan tension news comes again we will open at a lower circuit.

In a 4% index move, people lost 10%, so in the case of a circuit, they will lose 50%.

To recover a 50% loss on capital, you need to make 100% returns with the leftover capital to break even.

In these cases, spreads cover your risk.

Even he lost 3-4% of capital on 24th but it is easy to recover in 1-2 months.

Then there is description of Yog and Kalp. Next is the evolution of Ling and its puja Vidhi. It consists of dialogue between Sanat Kumar and Shail etc. It also mentions the character of Dadhichi, the dharma representation of that yug, Bhuvan kosh description,

Chandravansh and Surya vansh. Next there is elaborate description of Shrishti, story of Tripur, Ling and Pashu Paash vimoksha, Vrats for Shiva, Discipline, Repentance, Arisht, description of Shri Shail. Next is the story of Andhakasur, Varah, Narsingh,

k¡lling of Jalandhar, Shiv sahastra naam, story of Daksha's yagya and its destruction, killing of Madan and marriage of Parvati.

Next is Vinayak katha, Shiv tandav, Ambrish katha and Upmanyu .
