Still on this lateness issue on wedding day.

I recall sometime in 2013 or there about, on my way to Sango-OTa to conduct a wedding slated for 10am, I had left Abeokuta, where I was and still resident at 7am for Sango-Ota which is just about 1hr 30mins drive. At 9.30am,

I was not even near my destination. What I'm I going to do all decked up in an expensive suit, white shirt and a bow tie to match, I asked myself..."I don't arrive late for ministry assignment I said... it's still a guiding rule for me.

Without much ado, I asked my wife to get behind the wheels while I hopped on a bike. To cut the long story short, I got to the church at exactly 9.55am.

I had pastored the intending couple for about 4 years and they very well knew I was a stickler to time, particularly,

"church runs."

During counselling sessions, the intending couple had been reminded over and over again not to come late to the church on their wedding day, but alas, one of them came late. (You guessed right)

I got to the church and met the groom who was at this time on the

talking to his wife angrily.

To cut the long story short, at the strike of 10am, I gave instructions that the service should commence.

We proceeded accordingly and just at the moment I asked, "who brings in the bride?" I saw the bride running in at 10.35am into the church, wow,

Have you prayed at least 5mins for NIGERIA today?
It's the least we can all do.

In a conservative southern church (name withheld) , the pastor's wife found pornography on her husband's computer. After confronting him with the evidence, he admitted downloading d images off d internet, even using d computer in his study which was located in d church itself. .

In another bible-believing church not far from my home, a Christian businessman sought investment capital from other Christian individuals & businesses. He promised to invest d money in new Christian enterprises & promised a high rate of return on their money.  Alas, however,

What is right about going to your boyfriend's house to cook his meals.

When I hear guys invite women to their houses to help them cook, I get irked. Without gainsaying, I get pissed because I feel like it's a play down on my maturity as an adult that I can't cook d food I eat

While I was a bachelor & staying alone, I never had any girl come to my apartment to cook for me, and even when some offered to give their culinary services, I rejected it.

Though, that's personal.

But my aim of writing this RANT is to remind a lot of men reading this post that, it is not your girlfriend's job to cook for you!

A lady said to me sometime ago, that her boyfriend slapped her because she was a bit behind schedule to come cook for him.

To slap a lady because she wasn't at your place on time to cook for you?

I keep wondering how women put up with all these rubbish in relationships. Honestly, if I were a woman, many men will avoid me. I will take nothing less than a sensible man.

I've always said that any man who cannot cook as a bachelor is probably or likely to fit into this category. Any man who cannot do home chores is not ready for marriage.

Many men marry because of their inability to cook, wash and do home chores.

A SHORT EXHORTATION

This is just a very brief testimony.of how I lost something valuable yesterday and later found it this morning.

Woke up to the news that my wallet was missing... missing ke? How, where? My biggest concerns

were all my ATM cards therein etc.

My son and I began turning the entire house up side down with no comforting result.

Afterall, I only stepped up briefly yesterday to get some fruits and it was a distance of about 200mtrs.

I said to myself, this cannot happen. I have never

lost anything and not recover it, not even when one of my staff defrauded the branch of a bank I was managing some years ago.

I said a short prayer. Holy Spirit, thank you for covering my wallet wherever it's been since yesterday. Thank you for leading me to wherever it is. As I

step out in search of it, let me come back home with it.

I stepped out in faith and viola, as I got to the fruit seller's shop, everyone was gazing at me in a funny and unusual way. Suddenly and in one accord, they all asked me "what are you looking for?

There and then, I knew

my wallet was in safe hand. Infact, the elderly woman said, someone found it on the floor and since the fellow knew I was a regular customer here, dropped it at her shop. Infact, she said, she was about sending her daughter to bring it to my house. Long and short of it, I came

#Are will still blaming the Church?

Got several messages, comments and the likes from people who still have this belief that the Church should cease from praying and "diversify" into providing roads, stable electricity, good health care, etc

Well, for starters, the Church of

Christ cannot be held responsible for the failure of Government to provide basic, very basic amenities. Those ruling NIGERIA, from the federal level to the LG level, were either voted in or imposed on us by other means possible to do these things.

Elected officials the world over, have a minimum standard vis-a-vis citizen's expectations.

Therefore, the church cannot be held responsible for government's ineptitude.

The church cannot and should not be held responsible for poor educational facilities, poor electricity, poor

roads, poor health care, poorly equipped Hospitals and dispensaries.

The church cannot and should not be held responsible for the state of insecurity.

Many are quick to say, "with all our prayers, wat has changed?" Well, will all our prayers, God has shown so much mercy to this

country. It is our prayers and the mercies of God still upholding us inspite of how unpalatable the situation is.

We are quick to say, there are countries the world over doing well, who are not as prayerful as we are, yes, countries like China, Singapore, etc. But, we forget to

-Have you been intentionally monitoring your spiritual life even in and with your busy schedule?

You will

however agree that most of us make very conscious efforts monitoring almost every other thing in life, but our spiritual lives.

From the petrol in our car to that in our generators.

We monitor the money in our banks as well as that in our pocket....

We monitor our performances

at work and those of our subordinates.
We monitor our health,

we monitor the temperature gauge on the dashboard of our cars, monitor and gauge the air in our tyres.

We monitor virtually everything and take action(s) where necessary to ensure things go on smoothly.

These

action(s) gives us great satisfaction, yet, the most important things are left unmonitored.

Our spiritual gauge may have been reading zero for a longtime unattended to.

Our walk with God may have been crooked, yet little or no attention has been paid to this....

Our desire to

study the Word may have been on the decline for as long as possible because of our seemingly important busy schedules.

Prayer meter keeps dropping daily.

Fellowship with God is now a quickie, done only when convenient and at times during rush hour in the bathroom, toilet or

WHY SHOOT OUR WOUNDED?
Yes, read that again...Why Shoot Our Wounded?

A Detroit newspaper reportd that a patient in a local hospital was shot and killed as he lay in his bed recovering from a previous gunshot wound. The victim had been listed in fair condition

prior to the shooting and was looking forward to going home. Hospital patients and employees were stunned. A spokesperson said that nothing like this had happened in the 50yrs of the hospital's existence.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could say the same for our churches?

Wouldn't it be encouraging if we were able to say that in 50yrs of meeting together for worship, fellowship and spiritual healing, we had not had a single instance of a wounded member being cut down by the unkindness of a fellow Christian?

Many among us have experienced the

pain that David expressed in Psalm 109. When he was hurt and vulnerable, insensitive people took advantage of him. Certainly, if he ad sinned, he needed their loving correction. what he didn't need was their scorn, gossip, and selfish neglect. Who shoots his foot after stubbing

his toe? No one in his right mind. Neither should anyone with the mind of Christ act unmercifully toward a wounded brother or sister in the body of Christ. Rather, we must "show mercy" (v.16).

Give me, Lord, a lot of mercy
For my fellow men each day,
Mercy in their many failures

One thing we are all agreed on, is that insecurity does not favour a mass majority of the populace, save for those benefitting from it.

As part of the majority, we MUST all be concerned about peace in our land. Nothing thrives, flourishes or blossoms in times of crises...

If

only we can all spare at least 5mins to pray for our nation...
