10 big ideas for the next 10 years. Here are 10 ideas I think will make fundamental shifts in innovation, politics, money as we head towards 2030. Feel free to add yours

1. Tech focused youth involvement in governance. Over the next decade, there'll be greater involvement in the political process by the young digitally savvy demographic. Technology will play a massive role in helping young people build movements & in demanding for accountability
2. Build for export: With the Naira's continued depreciation, and decreasing purchasing power of Nigerians, more entrepreneurs will be forced to look outwards in search of fortunes. Nigeria will essentially become the incubation centre for businesses with global ambitions
3. Remote working neighbourhoods/cities. As entrepreneurs look outwards, the talent with exportable digital skills will also look outwards for employment opportunities. Investment in real estate that caters to remote workers will become an opportunity
4. Engineering offices. As Nigerias tech ecosystem matures & the current mid-level programmers, designers, PMs, transition into senior roles, foreign mid-sized tech companies'll start opening eng offices in Nigeria to get early access to the talent pipeline before coys like FB do
5. Pop-culture commercialisation: As Nollywood and Afrobeats continue to globalise and grow in influence, the two industries will learn how to use their influence to promote Nigerian fashion, tourism, tech, consumer goods. Designer brands in particular will see an explosion
6. Crypto-world: Nigerians will continue to see a proliferation of crypto-tools as ppl look to build wealth, evade oversight and move money around the world. Expect more investment in crypto startups. Importers/Exporters in particular will see mass adoption
7. Decentralisation of the Federation. This is going to be the most important political issue of the decade as oil proceeds dry up and the FG incurs a greater debt burden. States will push to determine their own fate & the FG will be forced to decentralise or risk total implosion
8. Home grown sports will take its rightful place in the Nigerian pop-culture landscape. By 2030, sports in Nigeria will be as popular as Nollywood/ Afrobeats, driven largely by football, basketball, tennis, boxing & MMA. We'll spend our weekends going to watch live matches
9. Nigerian tourism becomes a major revenue driver. This'll be driven mainly by the diaspora & business travel. Even with the insecurity up north, diasporans still have emotional ties to the country. We'll begin to see investments in Bali style resorts along the Lag/ABK/IB axis
10. Lagxit. Over the next decade, we'll see a migration of young digital natives out of Lagos to saner cities. They'll work in cities that can provide a mix of a young demographic, serenity, beautiful middle-class neighborhoods, night life & access to fast internet
Obviously this is the optimists take on Nigeria. There's bad governance to deal with. But Nigeria's population is young and super aspiration and will be impossible to totally suppress. A lot of good will happen in the next decade even with the current challenges

“What does success look like in a world where you pick that path?”

“What would the best version of yourself do”?
THREAD: 12 Things Everyone Should Know About IQ

1. IQ is one of the most heritable psychological traits – that is, individual differences in IQ are strongly associated with individual differences in genes (at least in fairly typical modern environments). https://t.co/3XxzW9bxLE

2. The heritability of IQ *increases* from childhood to adulthood. Meanwhile, the effect of the shared environment largely fades away. In other words, when it comes to IQ, nature becomes more important as we get older, nurture less.

3. IQ scores have been increasing for the last century or so, a phenomenon known as the Flynn effect. https://t.co/sCZvCst3hw (N ≈ 4 million)

(Note that the Flynn effect shows that IQ isn't 100% genetic; it doesn't show that it's 100% environmental.)

4. IQ predicts many important real world outcomes.

For example, though far from perfect, IQ is the single-best predictor of job performance we have – much better than Emotional Intelligence, the Big Five, Grit, etc. https://t.co/rKUgKDAAVx https://t.co/DWbVI8QSU3

5. Higher IQ is associated with a lower risk of death from most causes, including cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, most forms of cancer, homicide, suicide, and accident. https://t.co/PJjGNyeQRA (N = 728,160)
