I have said all I have to say on #BBIreport, which is:

1. It's a waste of Kenyan's time and precious intellect to spend it on the tantrums of malignant narcissists. We should be working where our talent and skills call us to, but we're doing damage control and #bullshitjobs.

 We have to have a country where Ndii's talent is used for our economy, not on campaigning to protect Kenya from Muigai's latest tantrums. Or where doctors are employed and working, not doing locums or being jobless while Cuban doctors get cars. #bbireport https://t.co/grmoEC9O3K

3. Our youth are are either underemployed or in #bullshitjobs, or being told to be entrepreneurs, only for KRA to invent new taxes and GoK to invent laws to protect cartels. #BBIreport attributes youth's problems to ethnicity and says solution is power sharing by the dynasties.
4. I don't think I can say anything more about #BBIreport than I've already said. The BBI-stans have no argument, and have been resorting to force, emotional blackmail and ultimatums. They have the force of the state but I have what they crave and will never give: my acceptance.

Corruption doesn't start at the public purse. It starts at the basic idea that people can be stupidly rich from no work of their own, but of others.

So until we deal with the monstrosity of the title deed, we will not fundamentally address corruption in Kenya.

That system of stealing people's work starts with the title deed.

What is a title deed? It is not the land. It is the legitimacy of her majesty the queen to own and decide what happens with land.

When someone has a title deed, they are saying that the queen has allowed them to use that land mentioned in the deed, and that the queen is committed to using force to validate that deed.

The problem is, who gave the queen the authority to guarantee use of the land?

The only way she got is is through stealth. Or what others politely call "enclosure."

What is an enclosure, and why is it a form of corruption?

Imagine we are that romantic non-colonized village that our elites like to con us about. We live next to a forest. The forest provides our food, fuel, building materials and trade. And through our culture and rituals, we replenish the forest, hold it sacred and protect it.

A few weeks ago, I asked this question: since Muigai doesn't respect the 2010 constitution, why is he invested in #BBInonsense, and in getting Kenyans to accept? He can just run for another term, send cops to kill people, the US will support him and he will remain in office.

The great #KOT explained this to me: #BBINonsense isn't about destroying the constitution. It's about destroying the story. Unfortunately, the only story which we use to challenge Muigai is the constitution.

We don't know our history, we have no theology, our arts are commercialized, our cultures are corrupted, and our education is destroyed. The last pillar standing between us and full scale uthamaki fascism is the Constitution 2010.

The cruelty of our civil service is a logic that was built by Lord Cromer, grandfather to Sir Evelyne Baring, the governor of Kenya who oversaw the Mau Mau concentration camps during the 1950s.

The sadism of the civil service and bureaucracy in Kenya has a long history.


Lord Cromer is considered the guru of civil service bureaucracy. He was so instrumental that even the Americans took lessons from him.

LC indirectly argued that civil servants must have no compassion or connection to the people who live where they are sent.

LC said that London must be the center of empire and must dictate how the empire runs. However, civil servants sent to far areas of the world would adopt the "defect" of seeing issues in their local context and forgetting London's interests.

The other thing LC instituted was profile of the hollow, colorless and inhuman bureaucrat. Because the British empire was the appointed incarnation of the Roman Empire, civil servants had to forget their own humanity and lay it at the service of empire.

Another cruelty LC introduced was secrecy and silence. Civil servants were never to reveal their real intentions. They were to avoid being noticed, and they were to avoid putting anything in writing. They were to operate under the radar as much as they could.

I will use this thread to explain the concept of "administrative bloat."

Administrative bloat is the employing of so many managers and supervisors, paying them excess salaries, while the people who do the actual work don't get employed or paid.

That is the government of Kenya.


Since the time of GoK's mother the colonial government, and its grandmother the British East Africa company, the role of the state is to control workers, control our work and its produce, and send it up the foodchain through chiefs, paramount chiefs all the way to London.

One of the cultural lies these parasistes have sold to us is that the only work that can be exploited is where there is a tangible product like tea or coffee. No. These exploit EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING. Health, education, faith, religion...EVERTYHING.

Elites are parasites. They can't work, won't work. How do they live, then? From taking away the work that we do. They use the state (especially weapons) to threaten us, and they get bureaucrats and managers to distract workers and push the loot up the gravy train.

That is why the less the elites work, the more bureaucrats the employ to protect them from direct contact with us "peasants." That's the function of civil servants. To steal our work on behalf of the elite, while conning us that we're working out of national duty.

We can't refer to society or trends because that means we're generalizing

We can't speak without providing facts and evidence

We can't be expressive because someone will be offended

How then can we talk in this Kenya?

To get any conversation going in this Kenya, you must be limit yourself to a vary narrow topic, you must present the facts from confirmed sources, you must stick to dictionary and literal meanings, you must not betray any emotion, and everyone must agree with you.

The point of conversation in Kenya is not truth or knowledge.

It's consensus.

This post is pretty bizarre, but it manages to hit on so many false beliefs that I've seen hurt junior data scientists that it deserves some explicit

(1) The notion that R is well-suited to "building web applications" seems totally out of left field. I don't feel like most R loyalists think this is a good idea, but it's worth calling out that no normal company will be glad you wrote your entire web app in R.

(2) It is true that Python had some issues historically with the 2-to-3 transition, but it's not such a big deal these days. On the flip side, I have found interesting R code that doesn't run in modern R interpreters because of changes in core operations (e.g. assignment syntax).

(3) "Most of the time we only need a latest, working interpreter with the latest packages to run the code" -- this is where things get real and reveal some things that hurt data scientists. If this sentence is true, it's likely because you don't share code with coworkers.

(3) Really is a broader issue in data science: people only think of what they need to do their work if no one else existed and code was never maintained. Junior data scientists almost always operate on projects they start from scratch and don't have to maintain for long.

Lessor known facts of Sudarshan Chakra or Neela Chakra of Puri Jagannath Temple.

The metal wheel at the top of Bhagwan Jagannath temple is also known as Neela Chakra (Blue Wheel). The wheel is made of eight metals comprising of.. 1/n


iron, copper, zinc, mercury, lead, brass, silver & gold. It's circumferance is about 36 feet & it is so designed that there is a wheel within the wheel. The circumferance of the inner wheel is about 26 feet. Eight hubs join together the inner and the outer wheels. 2/n


There are decorative designs on the outer wheel. The thickness of the Neela Chakra is 2 inches.The wheel is said to be Bhagwan Vishnu's most powerful weapon, Sudarshana Chakra. Inside Jagannath temple, Lord Vishnu's wheel is also worshipped in the name of 'Sudarshana'. 3/n


But inside the temple Sudarshana is not in the shape of a wheel, but in the shape of a small wood pillar placed to the left of image of bhagwan Jagannath. It is believed that the same Sudarshana is also at the top of the temple and is known by the name of Neela Chakra. 4/n

Starting my 2nd thread on Sringeri Parampara. This will cover the Jagadgurus after Sri Vidyaranya to Sri Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati.

It is really very tough to match the brilliance and achievements of Vidyaranya. After whom came 15 - Chandrashekara Bharati [1386-1389].

The next Acharya was Nrisimha Bharati [1389-1408]. Harihara raya found a town for this Acharya - Narasimhapuram. Acharya helped the king by guiding him in political affairs. He also initiated the kind with mahamantras for spiritual development.

Subsequent Acharyas were
15-Puroshottama Bharati [1408 - 1448]
16-Shankara Bharati[1448 - 1455]
17-Chandrasekhara Bharati II [1455 - 1464]
18- Nrisimha Bharati II [1464 - 1479]

20-Ramachandra Bharati [1517 - 1560]. Sadashiva Raya was emporer of Vijayanagara during this time.
