Boycotting Jews is as old as antisemitism.
There is nothing new about BDS - which creates imaginary rules and hoops for Jews to jump through - threatening to punish them when they fail.

Those protecting the BDS movement who say this is about freedom to choose are hiding behind a straw man.

Nobody is arguing the concept of boycott is wrong.
They are saying *THIS* boycott is clearly discriminatory and antisemitic. Which it is.
Boycotting, divesting and sanctioning Jews has been going on for 1000s of years.

Jewish communities were always shunned, ostracised and punished.

There is nothing new about the BDS movement at all. It is plain old antisemitism.
Christians, Muslims, Nazis and Communists have all boycotted Jews.

And each time they did - divestment and sanctions followed.

It was always the same. Make up stories to justify the boycott in a contemporary setting and then single out the Jews. Just like BDS
Along with the Nazi boycott, there was a Communist boycott too. The Communists even created a special group of extremist Jews to hide behind - so when they set out to attack Jewish life, they couldn't be accused of antisemitism (just like Jewish voice for Labour).
When Arab nationalism rose Arabs started to boycott Jewish nationalism. Long before Israel existed.

BDS seeks to deny only the Jews from having national independence.

What do you think the Palestinian flag is - if not an expression of nationalism? Open your eyes!
There are too many problems with BDS for it to be legitimate.

It is deliberately vague to fool people. It hides its key aims. It lies about what Jews are doing. It discriminates & makes up rules. It's core support comes from Islamists who support despotic regimes.
Which is why it is disgraceful that magazines like @TIME write non-factual, sloppy articles that mislead readers about the real nature of BDS. The author @sanya_mansoor who is clearly biased has not done her homework. Such articles help to spread antisemitism.
People need to be made aware that this is not about 'settlements' or human rights. BDS is an antisemitic movement that clearly seeks the destruction of the only Jewish state in the world.

To deny this is to deny the obvious.

I’m torn on how to approach the idea of luck. I’m the first to admit that I am one of the luckiest people on the planet. To be born into a prosperous American family in 1960 with smart parents is to start life on third base. The odds against my very existence are astronomical.

I’ve always felt that the luckiest people I know had a talent for recognizing circumstances, not of their own making, that were conducive to a favorable outcome and their ability to quickly take advantage of them.

In other words, dumb luck was just that, it required no awareness on the person’s part, whereas “smart” luck involved awareness followed by action before the circumstances changed.

So, was I “lucky” to be born when I was—nothing I had any control over—and that I came of age just as huge databases and computers were advancing to the point where I could use those tools to write “What Works on Wall Street?” Absolutely.

Was I lucky to start my stock market investments near the peak of interest rates which allowed me to spend the majority of my adult life in a falling rate environment? Yup.
