1/ LISTEN UP MY PEEPS: In the 4 years of the American Civil…

2/ Like it or not, these two guys will this morning and for a long. long time be considered heroes by millions of Americans

3/Tens of millions are Americans yesterday watched the storming of the US Capital not with alarm or concern, but with happiness and cheer that at long last the politicians in Washington were getting what they deserved.

4/ The only thing that many of those Americans were unhappy about was the fact that those storming the Capital did not show up with M-16's so that they could kill every Democrat in site.

5/ While all of this was occurring, talking heads on TV expressed alarm, pontificated about democracy, made appropriate comments reflecting their privileged status. and a few referenced the discrepancy between the treatment of these largely white protesters and BLM protesters

6/ What will not be addressed in the days to come is that from the smallest city halls to the US Capital this country has been rotted out from within. Our schools suck. Close to a quarter of our citizens are considered functionally illiterate.

7/ Far too many businesses, large and small were created and operate on a premise that screwing their workers by failing to provide them with a minimum wage is the American Way of doing business

8/ Our health system is not only abusievly expensive, but in many ways incapable of providing basic care to millions of citizens, especially minorities.

9/ Drug companies not only conspired to rob citizens through exorbitant pricing, but worse, schemed to kill them with opiates. Insurance companies cooked the books after hurricanes and other crises to short change customers of their payments.

10/ All of this and a long, long litany of other abuses and assaults to the average American were not only carried out with little or no redress, but the elected officials who were entrusted to look out for the public's trust conspired with the perpetrators.

11/ The news media, long considered to be the watchdog, in too many cases failed. Yes, there have been notable exceptions, but the daily grind of really shining the light on the antics going on city halls and state houses for all intents and purposes ended.

12/ Were now faced with bland, privileged and largely ignorant talking heads on TV who feel an obligation to represent the existing ruling class view of the world, and college kids with little or no life experience as the explainers of what is happening to our country.

13/ At this point it is hard to imagine that things are going to end well. While all the craziness was going on in Washington, and while millions sat fixated to their TV and radio in shock, right-wing radio continued spewing the same crazy, misleading lies

14/ Lies that feed into a world view in no small part formed as a result of our piss-poor educational system, which in turn has led to millions of adults who rightfully believe that their country, and their politicians have abused them.

15/ We are so ill equipped or capable of actually facing the truth of what our country has become, that the next time that a capital is stormed - and yesterday revealed to many that the impossible is possible - expect that they will bring guns.

16/ Thanks to the failures of security personnel protecting the US Capitol yesterday, there are now people who having gotten a taste of success, will convince themselves that they can do it again at some state capitol, and next time they'll show up with guns.
