Woo. Indemand have delivered again.

 Do I wait two weeks to open it for my birthday, or just open it now? Decisions, decisions...

I do have other robots coming...
I kind of needed a pick me up, as yesterday was a pretty bad brain day. Plus I've got the Dominus set arriving on the 9th
Ratchet's gun was a pain to get out.
Let's look at Optimus.
He is so delightfully devilish. His purple and dark blue work exceptionally well. I kind of prefer it over the original botcon toy, partially because I don't own that due it's price, partially due to the use of the
Earthrise mold to deliver a more G1SG Optimus. It very much feels like a counterpart to G1 Optimus, as opposed to the general opposite-ness we got with 2008 Shattered Glass. I enjoy that.

He comes with a matrix that looks like it glows, but it's due to only being painted on the
one side. I personally would've preferred it to be fully painted myself. It's not noticeable inside his chest, and I don't think I'll be taking it out much though, so it's not too big of a deal for me.
Optimus turns into a truck mode that doesn't have any doors for access to the cab. He doesn't seem to be the type who'd give people rides, but that's besides the point.
It looks nice, I love the smashed in window that the entire franchise is named after.
He does not have a trailer, but that's not really a big deal. This is the third Earthrise Optimus I've gotten next to Alternate Universe and the original release, and if I get Nemesis Prime, that's a third trailer. I don't mind the lack of one. Plus it still has pretty good
weapon storage without it. He don't need to be pulling a combat deck around. He's got worlds to conquer
Also in this set is Ratchet. I felt it was a bit of an odd choice, for a first SG set, but it's even stranger as he's got a brand new deco when compared to his original 2008 deco.
I personally don't mind this distancing from the 2008 botcon, as that felt very much like a proof of
concept that got milked because Star Trek Mirror Universe is a popular thing... I think. (I have no idea about this being true, if a Start Trek fan can tell me if this is the case, I would greatly appreciate it).

I love his new deco. It gives off hospital scrub vibes with the
minty green while staying true to the character of Ratchet. Our in this case the evil, mirrored character of Ratchet. Its all rather nice.

I love the purple in leiu of the usual red we get as well. Overall, he's nice. That's all I can say really. He's nice. Nothing else really.
He has a few accessories. A riot shield, a gun, and a lightbar. The light bar connects to the shield, and once I do so, I'll likely not take it off. I love the giant purple Autobot insignia. On Ratchet, the shield looks a bit cumbersome, but it was like that on the Galactic
Oddessy figure as well. I tend to keep it off him.

He converts in a similar fashion to Siege Ironhide, into an ambulance. Or what one from a mirror universe would look like. It hides away a lot of the minty green parts to give us a rather nice ambulance with feet sticking out
it's rear end. Something that stands out more on this then Earthrise Ironhide and Ratchet, as its a different colour to the test of the alt mode. I'm able to look past it on them as it color matches the rest of the body, but it doesn't really do that here.
So converting them both back into robot mode to take a photo of them together and do a summary, Ratchet's head just straight up split apart. This was due to tolerances in getting the neck to tab into the main body. Suffice to say, it's not really supposed to do that.
Overall, it's a rather ok set. I prefer Optimus more, although Ratchet is good. It's got its issues with the head and the feet. The feet are a different colour to the rest of the vehicle, it's harder to ignore then on GO Ratchet and ER Ironhide.

Optimus however is fantastic, and
I have no issues with. Ratchet, he's great in robot mode, but it's just something about him that I don't really vibe with. He looks nice, but with the head coming apart during his first conversion back into robot mode, it's hard to say he's good.
Can I recommend it? It's hard to say. They come up at ┬г50, which is about right for a voyager and deluxe Selects two pack. I don't think the issues with Ratchet's head is common, as I've not heard anyone else saying anything about it. Optimus, like I say is perfect. The lack of a
trailer helps as otherwise it'd be the fourth one we'd be getting. And space is an issue, so the lack of one is fine. They've got great decos, and Ratchet is a bit weak in vehicle mode, but that's really the only issue.
I wouldn't say it's a must have, but for what it is, it's
good.
That's the bottom line really, it's good, it's worth it, but it's not a must have.

So how about those rumours of a Shattered Glass line? It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. I hope they don't give Rodimus that rubbish beard again though. It doesn't suit him.

So, here's my contrarian take on Why Trunk-Based Development Is Great But Probably Won't Work For You. Buckle up, it's a long one.

From time to time I talk about, or boost someone else's discussion of, "classical" continuous integration/trunk-based development/push-to-master/whatever. I do this because I've personally worked like this and I genuinely think it's a marvelous way to write software.

I've also, at this point in my career, failedтАФa bunch of times!тАФto bring this technique into practical use on the teams and organizations I've worked with. As a result, while I still do it myself, I don't focus as much on encouraging it in others.

The technoculture that's presently in vogue is what I think of as async/individualтАФoptimize for the individual, performance-manage the individual, decouple the individual from others so they can be their best, most productive, most heroic selves.

This is in contrast to what I think of as sync/teamтАФa culture that leans into interdependence and collaboration. If you've never worked on a team that collaborates very closely every day for months or years on end (and likes it) you've likely not experienced a team like this.

My childhood was messed up. My mother was an abusive alcoholic and mentally ill. In 1995 when I was 12 years old, my parent's split. Originally the courts stated I had to stay with my mother, which I believe was the court's default decision at that point. 2/?

Truth be told, is usually the best choice for a child, just not in my case.
For my own safety I eventually ran away from her to live with my dad. I left behind my dog (who was also 12), and my three cats (Rocky 8, Jewel 10, and Scamper 12 years old). 3/?

After about a year of fighting in family court, my father was given full custody of me. I never spoke to my mother again.

My dad, being an electrician, would come home from work after particularly hard days and jokingly say, "Just don't work in electrical Bernie." 4/?

As a kid I didn't fully understand he was joking, so I took it to heart. I had a natural talent for the sciences and math, so I studied Physics and Math at Dalhousie University before switching to Marketing and Statistical Analysis at Saint Mary's University.

People! Have you seen people being rude to each other during meetings, maybe directed at women/people of colour/disabled people/LGBTQ+ people? Do you want to help prevent this abuse?

Some tips you can consider as a bystander depending on the situation (thread)

Have a code of conduct and circulate it. Make it clear that abusive behaviour will not be accepted. Build in accountability strategies (what happens if someone violates it). Have a moderator/chair to observe the dynamics of your group.

This kind of behaviour is very normalised and insidious, so train yourself to spot it. Is there somebody that usually interrupts? Is there somebody that usually gets interrupted and silenced? Are there signs of aggressive communication?

Not everyone might like that you jump at their defense - your heart might be in the right place but it can come across as patronising. Try to bring up the subject with your colleagues and see what they think. Foster a culture of positive communication.

Once you see that somebody is trying to interrupt - politely redirect the discussion towards the person that was originally speaking. Eg "thank you for that, now I'd really like to hear what person xyz was saying earlier".

The Haas / Force India argument is fascinating, and the decision of the stewards may still have consequences. The first key finding is that the stewards ruled Racing Point Force India to be a valid constructor. That means that it builds its own cars.

Haas had argued that the cars had been designed by Force India, but as Haas knows only too well, "outsourcing" is legal. The stewards decided that "there is no regulatory support for the argument that Outsourcing of Listed Parts cannot come from a former or excluded team."

In determining this, the stewards also came to the following conclusion: "In relation to the submission by the Racing Point Force India F1 Team that it is not a new team, the Stewards decide that the Racing Point Force India F1 Team is indeed a new team."

This will have a big knock on effect for Haas in its continued arguments over the rights of RPFI as relates to its eligibility and rights under the complex payments structure. Haas has argued all along that RPFI should be treated as a new team and tread the same path that it did.

TLDR? Haas lost the fight but may have won the war. In having its argument that Racing Point hadn't designed their own car thrown out, they gained clarification that RPFI was a new team.

This is a story which describes how River Kaveri was brought on earth by┬аAgastya muni. There was a king named Kavera lived in the Brahmagiri hills who prayed to Brahma for a child. He was blessed with a daughter whom he named Kaveri.


Agastya muni married her. A demon, named Shoorapadma, wanted to trouble people so he prevented rain from reaching South India. As a result famine occurred in South India.
Agastya Muni who came that way was very sad seeing this. He started to pray Mahadeva for a solution.


Shiva gave him small amount of Ganga water in his Kamandalu (small pot) and said wherever you spill this water the river will flow from there. Agastya Muni travelled lot of places to find a suitable place to pour water. Feeling tired he kept his Kamandalu and took rest.


At that time Ganesha took a form of crow and perched on the Kamadalu and made a hole that water began to flow as river Kaveri. This place is now called as Talakaveri (Karnataka), located in the Brahmagiri hill.


Tala Kaveri has temple for Agastheeswara, which denotes the story between Kaveri and Agasthya muni. Kaveri is a part of Ganga, thus, also called Dakshina Ganga.
