Saw tweets from Periyarists claiming Saivites(Lord Shiva Devotees) are not Hindus. This is ridiculous and deceit to keep Hindus divided. There are 72 sects in Islam and several in Christianity. If you are an atheist better stay away from all religions.
Skanda Purana told by 1/n

Lord Muruga ( Tamil Name Kandan) talks extensively about Lord Venkateswara's history till marriage in the 1st chapter and 2nd chapter covers Lord Puri Jaganath's history.
Lord Muruga is Shiva's son. All Tamil saints have revered about Lord Venkateswara. Rishi Agastya

Was a direct Disciple of Lord Shiva, sent from Himalayas to South for spreading the Knowledge gained from Shiva. Agasthya is the top most Guru of Tamil Siddhas. The same Agastya teaches Aditya Hrudayam to Lord Rama in Ramayana to defeat Ravana. So Shiva and Vishnu are

Did you know?

Rani Bhabani was the Queen of Natore, Bengal or 'Natorer Rani' as she was famously called. She made great contributions in Tarapith & renovated Benaras.

In Varanasi, Durga Kund Mandir was constructed by Rani Bhabani in the 18th century.

Born in Chhatimgram village, Bogra District,Her father's name was Atmaram Choudhury.Bhabani was married off to Raja Ramkanta Moitra, the then zamindar of Rajshahi. After his death, Bhabani became the zamindar, and started being referred to as Rani. She was known as Ardhabangeshwari.

A woman as a zamindar was extremely rare in those days, but Rani Bhabani managed the vast Rajshahi zamindari most efficiently and effectively for over four decades.
Maharani Bhavani was very pious in her personal life. She passed her life in a strict disciplined way.

She conducted the administrative work skillfully. As a Maharani she was an impartial judge. Rani Bhavani had a very hard time during the fag end of her life. The Zamindari (estate) incurred serious loss due to the change of the revenue policy of the company.

In spite of being the owner of a large Zamindari (estate), she had to depend on the stipend of the government in the later part of her life. The amount of this stipend gradually decreased and became Rs. 1000/- only in the end.

This is very unique temple as Shiva and Vishnu both are in the “linga” form in the same Garbhagriham. The Srikovil is in a circular pattern. Temple's Prathishta was done by Parasurama.

Mahadeva and Maha Vishnu in the same Srikovil is very rare Prathishta, but poojas are done separately Dhara is done to Maha Vishnu here. People suffering from “KAIVISHAM” and mental illness are fully cured on drinking a medicinal herb supplied by a nearby family here.

The root of the banyan tree around the Ayyappa Sannidhanam is said to have great powers for skin ailments.

Very ancient temple but was covered with forest for many years.
Later two persons Chakki and Chaathan, while cutting trees their axe hit on the nearby

SIRSI MARIKAMBA DEVI, UTTAR KANNADA DIST. (KAR)
#bharatmandir

Also known as Doddamma (elder sister of all Mariammas). Marikamba of Sirsi is both Mari (terror) as well as Maremma (savior). She is terror in anger & Mother in love. That is why she is called Marikamba.

There was a man by the name of Asadi/ Basava. He used to attend a fair at the neighboring village. Once, he was harassed by some men due to his poor status. So he did not go to the fair. Instead, he stayed in his village Sirsi and prayed to Devi.

One night, he had a dream where Devi Kali informed him about her presence in a tank at his village. When the tank was searched, people found a box with parts of murti. The different parts were assembled together and since then Sirsi Devi became popular in the region.

The kshetram has extremely striking murals in ‘Kaavi’ art. It is an art form of the Konkan region of coastal Karnataka. This stunning art involves creation of patterns in red colour against a white background.
Marikamba rathyatra is one of the biggest Car festivals in Karnataka.
