Anyone can download entire books & see my point proved amply. Class 7 textbook has merely a map in chp 2, pp 16 that just states names of southern dynasties like Rashtrakutas, Pandyas etc. Some hiranyagarbha myth cited to make Rashtrakutas & their brahmin priests appear foolish
On Cholas in same chp they apparently had 400 types of oppressive taxes- of course jizia later was benign! Cholas are disposed off in 3 pages flat. Apparently Mahmud Ghazni was v interested in finding out more about the ppl he conquered & so got Albiruni to write a book (pg 21)+
Bolstering my point of Delhi centricity while all these great kingdoms are disposed off in 2-3 pgs, chp 3 is fully devoted to the "Delhi Sultans" - what their contribution to this country is no one knows, but their tyranny remains unmentioned +
Chp 4 is fully devoted to "Mughal Empire". Chp 5 on "Rulers & Buildings' is also largely about Delhi Sultanate & Mughal architecture/tombs/gardens wt a few temples strewn in between. "Temples and mosques were beautifully constructed because they were places of worship"🤦 (pp 63)
Justification for temple destruction is elaborate by citing apparent Hindu attacks Pandyan king Shrimara Shrivallabha on Srilankan Buddhists- never mind if that demonizes Hindus or creates conflicts between Hindus & Buddhists; Islamic attacks create disharmony in nation building!
Mind u just 3 lines on any temple destruction at all as against 1 page of Hindu pillaging & that too mentioned so casually that Mahmud Ghazni was not a v important ruler & in middle ages it was common to destroy & loot places of worship of defeated rulers (p66). No proofs given!
Chp 6 on Towns, Traders & Craftspersons is where we get 1 page on Vijayanagara Empire (p 82-83) & that too more on Hampi & what Domingo Paes said & it just "fell" in 1565. No separate chapter for this important Empire but couched amidst unrelated matter. +
Chp 7 on Tribals & nomads has brief para on Ahoms (pp 99-100) where Mughals under Mir Jumla's defeat of Ahoms in 1662 is mentioned but Battle of Saraighat 1671 & counter defeat by Lachit Borphukan happily omitted! Less said abt bhakti & sufi movement in chp 8 the better!+
Chp 9 is called "Making of Regional Culture" - when there was no nation according to these worthies what is "national" & what is "regional"? Delhi is "centre" & Cheras of Kerala, Rajputs of Rajasthan, Bengal are merely "Regional"?Here too Mughals intrude the chapter vastly+
Chp 10 has details of Nadir Shah, Nizam-ul-Mulk, awadh nawabs, but Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is disposed off in less than a quarter of a page that too under a portrait (pp 149). Peshwas get 1 page! Thus ends class 7 history book! +
If this doesn't prove my point of incommensurate portrayal of invaders as against native kingdoms I don't know what else can! I'm told "professional" historians work v hard & shouldn't be insulted. If this shoddy work is what comes after toil, they deserve all the rap on knuckles

5 star RSI Strategy by @VishalMalkan

Unconventional approach of 60-40 RSI and range shift concept.

According to him,
whenever the market is bearish,
it won’t be able to cross 60,
and whenever in a bullish trend,
it won’t be able to cross 40.

Like & Retweet for Maximum Reach.

So, instead of the 70-30 Relative Strength Index,
we will use the 60-40 range for the RSI indicator for this strategy.

When the
Monthly and Weekly RSI>60,
& when the RSI takes support at 40 in the daily chart,
it may bounce back and most probably it will not go below 40.

If a bullish candle is formed at the 40 RSI level,
the prices may bounce back, and one can enter the stock.

The stoploss can be placed at the low of that bullish candlestick,
and the target can be the 60 RSI level.

When the
Monthly and Weekly RSI<40,
& when the RSI takes resistance at 60 in the daily chart,
it may bounce back and most probably it will not go above 60

If a bearish candle is formed at the 60 RSI level,
the prices may bounce back from there, & 1 can enter the stock 4 shorting

The stoploss can be placed at the high of that bearish candlestick, and the target can be the 40 RSI levels.

Mahabharat - the great war - 18 days of heroism, deceit, blood and intrigue - now as a mega Twitter thread.

I'll add the events from a few days of the war each day.

Caveats: lots of editorialization, creative liberties and interpretations.

There will also be a lot of asides - especially around war strategy and tactics, the characters and their motivations and non-canon storylines.

Over the years, I've read multiple versions, phenomenal translations and modern retellings. So be prepared for a potpourri.

There are different ways of looking at this war. Was it a family feud? Sure - but whose family? Shantanu's or Satyavati's? Was Vyas essentially telling us his family history? And then Kunti added a twist to this tale. Here's a helpful chart:


Satyavati's two sons from Shantanu both died without children. Vyas - her first son - fathered Dhritarashtra and Pandu (and Vidur).

Pandu never fathered any children. Kunti and Madari gave birth to six demi-gods (Karna and the five Pandavs).

So Satyavati Vs Kunti and Madari.

Or was this a fight between two massive neighbouring kingdoms - the Kurus and the Panchals? While many smaller kingdoms joined the battle, most of the Pandav army (more than half of their 7 divisions) came from the Panchals. King Drupad and his son Shikhandi led two divisions.

Deliveries of Firefly to units only commenced in April 1944,
just a few weeks before Overlord & left minimal time for familiarisation.

Armoured Regiments mostly utilised Fireflies on a basis of 1 per troop of 4 tanks. /2


Finally each armoured regiment troop had access to integral, meaty, anti-tank firepower capable of dealing serious damage to any German AFV likely to be encountered. /3


The dual purpose 75mm gun was quite capable of laying down a reasonable HE shell or AP round for dealing with Panzer III or IV.

Firefly's 17 Pounder had.... problems with HE, but excelled at tank killing. So Tigers and Panthers would need to be wary. /4


Firefly's design history dated back to March 1943 when the General Staff published "Policy on Tanks" which effectively stated the majority of tanks should have a good HE weapon and...

Many readers have asked me "why do so many pulp covers feature women in ripped red blouses standing in swamps while a man fights off an unusual animal attack?"

The answer is artist Will Hulsey...


Will Hulsey was the undisputed king of the animal attack pulp cover. You name it, he'd paint it attacking you in a pool of stagnant water.


Very little is known about Will Hulsey, but he worked on a number of men's pulp magazines in the 1950s and early 1960s including Man's Life, True Men, Guilty, Trapped and Peril.


Their audience was ex-GIs: during WWII the US Council of Books in Wartime had given away over 122 million books to American servicemen to read; this led to a post-war surge in paperback and magazine sales amongst these newly enthusiastic readers.


As a result the 1950s saw a raft of men's pulp magazines being published to tap into this market - almost 200 different titles!
