Over the last few months through pcrclaims, a core group of lawyers, scientists and other experts have been campaigning hard for an end to PCR data inaccuracies. #PCR #PCRGATE #PCRTest

As a team, we have received nearly 1,000 stories of hardship, disappointment and tragedy. And been moved by the many people out there who are really under pressure as a result of Government policies enacted through PCR data.

So what are we doing?

Through our pro bono network or law firms and individual lawyers, we have been collating witness statements relating to personal harms, harms to children and harms to businesses for ongoing judicial reviews.

We have collectively put thousands of hours into researching, making FOI requests, talking and writing to potential claimants, writing legal letters, researching claim options and interviewing claimants and expert witnesses.

Our team behind the scenes receives and reviews filings and judgments from courts around the world - all offer us all some hope for future cases here in England. So why the delay?

Dear liberals, many of you have said things along the lines of "It's Biden's first week, he's already done great things, what's the issue with progressives?" In the case that this is a genuine question rather than rhetorical condescension, here's a thread on what our "issue," is

WHERE'S THE CHECKS? Over and over we heard Dem senate = instant $2K checks. Then it turned into $1,400, now even that number will go to negotiations with the GOP because Biden fetishizes bipartisanship when he doesn't need to. This can be passed with budget reconciliation TODAY.

WHERE'S THE COVID PLAN? "Trump has no plan for covid, I do." Sound familiar? Now Biden says "There's nothing we can do to change the trajectory of the virus." What? There's a hell of a lot of things we can do and we have to remind him of that as we approach 500k Covid deaths.

WHERE'S THE ANTI-WAR PARTY? Not long ago, dems were considered the anti-war opposition to Bush. Fast forward to Biden considering a reversal of Trump's order to remove troops from Iraq (18 year war!)Only thing wrong with Trump's order is that it would only remove *some* troops.

FOR REAL THO, WHERE?? Biden reversed the ban of transgender people from our military which is kind of a weird form of equality to celebrate. Now they have the same ability to kill innocent brown civilians in an unjust war that cisgendered people do... cool.

A short thread on how face masks work, why we wear masks *to protect other people from ourselves* and not the other way around, & why wearing face-shields without a mask, masks with valves, or masks that hang open on the bottom or sides IS ACTUALLY DANGEROUS FOR EVERYONE ELSE...

I am going to start off by citing from a great paper by @trishgreenhalgh about the benefits of mask wearing, which you can read in full here:

Masks can work in 2 ways: protecting the wearer, & protecting other people from exhalations emitted by the wearer. Surgical grade masks are supposed to do both. They block out small particles emitted by the source, AND they filter those particles out from other emissions

For cloth masks, however, they are not so good at filtering out tiny particles which can contain viruses. But what they are good at doing is limiting the large droplets people give off when they breathe or cough – before they become aerosolised.

This means when you wear a cloth mask, the most important role that it plays is not protecting you from other people's exhalations but *protecting them from yours*. @trishgreenhalgh calls this 'source control' i.e. 'protects other people from droplets emitted by the wearer'

1/ Republicans and Reactionaries, a thread.

There will be post-mortems ad infinitum on how Trumpism rose and fell, but those narratives will always be incompete or deliberately evasive if they don't reckon w/the fact that the GOP itself made Trump possible.

2/ It's undeniably true that we have always had fringe, extremist movements in the USA, whether Know-Nothings or Birchers. What kept them on the fringe was their comparative *political* irrelevance.

3/ Since the Goldwater campaign in 1964, however, the Republican Party began adopting elements of extremist/fringe ideations, slowly at first and then with gusto.

4/ It started with Goldwater's paeans to "State's Rights," which have always been a stalking horse for institutionalized racism. After Buckley's pro forma denunciation of the JBS, it then accelerated with incorporation of anti-UN ("anti-globalist") notions.

5/ Well-documented in the literature, the craven Southern Strategy of the late '60s through mid '70s -- another overt/covert appeal to racism (cf, the notorious Lee Atwater "n****r n****r" interview) -- continued the GOP's embracing of the hard(er) Right...

Personally, I understand the death penalty. People do awful things, and I don’t find it heart wrenching that they meet this fate. Yet. I am Catholic: this means I fully accept the teaching of the church whether I ‘feel it’ or not. Mercy heals the world, not vengeance...

Part of the ecosystem we need to contend with is that the federal grants from which many research assistants and postdocs in science are paid set the pay for RAs and postdocs too low. Faculty may feel tempted to shrug and pass on the bad pay without pushing back. That’s fucked.

If your grant doesn’t allow you to pay certain salaries, be up front during the hiring process about that. I talk openly to my students about why the numbers are what they are, depending on my funding source.

It is also the case that when I apply for grant money, I try to ask for a higher than typical salary and I do try to justify my request in my budget justification. I still haven’t won a grant with a postdoc in it so I don’t know how that’s going.

In the long run, I’ve reminded my students and postdoc that I think unions are great!

A union contract that binds the university to pay them a certain among actually makes it so that my request to federal agencies is “this is what I am required to pay.” Academic unions ftw!

I also think that all faculty should, to the extent of their ability given their circumstances, participate in advocating for an increase in minimum wages and an increase in federal and state funding for science and universities to cover the increased cost.

I just saw a thread with people debating teacher’s salaries again.

Are we still doing this? Are we still throwing around this 180 days?

I don’t know one teacher that works 180 days and I know THOUSANDS of teachers. I don’t know one that works 8-3 pm.

Maybe that’s just my network? You can be connected to plenty of orgs and schools and someone will still try to tell me about what educators deserve...

Professional developments look different at every school. Leaders implement their visions based on need, board directives, survival, and sometimes ego.

I know educators that are painting walls and scrubbing floors during “PD.” I know educators that are internalizing...

Curriculum a mile a minute and are being asked to memorize them. I know educators that are being asked to write instruction from scratch. I know leaders that were told 1 week before school starts that the fire/health/contractor dept. cleared them to be in the building.

The Venn diagram of pundits insisting AOC was being over dramatic & of pundits who helped normalize the violent rhetoric is a circle & I need us to stop pretending that their hands are clean. They would have cheered a lynching & they're saying that loud & clear.

Some of the people who stormed the building definitely meant to kill people. That's not even up for debate. They said it into the camera. So, ask yourself what value there is in trying to invalidate AOC or anyone else talking about the fear? They expressed no sympathy or remorse

They are invested in dehumanizing AOC & everyone else that was a target. That still is a target. But what are they protecting here? The hate? It's not the party or the process. It's not the future. Hell for many of them I've seen it's not even their career. So what's the point?

The only answer is that they don't want anyone to ask how much they have (and continue to) normalize & espouse violent rhetoric. They know what they are encouraging. They just hope you don't. This is the "equal rights, equal fights" crowd & what they really hate is equality.

But more than that they hate women. And their real fear is that AOC can do what Black women & other women they target did not...engender some measure of accountability inside the Right. The way racism is set up they know Cori Bush & others won't trigger it. But AOC might...

Prolific busybody, Christine Pack @SolaSisters of the #ReformedDowngrade sect, makes long “gotcha” threads on Twitter against the godly. Here’s one broken down.

I’m blessed to be numbered among those that she, Byrd, Hobbs, Miller, R Scott Clark, Jules Lapierre and newer drama-makers like David Chism have targeted through the years. I praise God to bear reproach for his name.

The trouble I’ve faced these years has been due to a willingness to confront these sectarians, their false teachings, and their bad behavior.

So let’s see what she has as her “receipts” after years of the #ReformedDowngrade sect spying and doxing me:

1. She rightly says I‘ve claimed Byrd has “a number of similarities to Jezebel” and that she is “a wolf.” Noted. And also true. And amen. She claims this means I have “a fetish-like fixation on Aimee Byrd”, which says everything about her as a wicked gossip and nothing about me.

2. She notes that I have joked about R. Scott Clark’s and others false accusations about me being Federal Vision—“sounds FV” we say—it’s an old joke, but he has been a gossip for a long time. I like to joke about dumb things, and this mob/sect provides a lot of material. 🤷‍♂️
