I've a few thoughts about Trump and how we got here, going to be a long thread

I've just finished @Mikel_Jollett excellent book Hollywood Park, can't recommend it highly enough (and his band album etc) In the book he describes growing up with a Narcissistic mother amongst other things.

When he describes how every single thing that happens was through the prism of how it effected her and how it made her feel reminded me of Trump. To start with Trump is deeply disturbed individual, he was brought up as a racist.

He's risen to power by the use of racism however I don't think that's why he's become what he is. He's exploited institutional racism to help himself feel better about himself.
I see institutional racism as a result of an exploitation of power.

The fact that some people have a genetic predisposition to higher level of pigmentation in their skin can never be a logical reason for bias. Due to the historical imbalance of power it is exploited to consolidate power and with it riches.

Pence now ruling from the chair that the Members of Congress sent to the gallery can't even ask how they can render objections if they're not on the floor.

About some of the assertions in this Republican letter justifying opposition to a democratic election and in favor of the very undemocratic mass disenfranchisement of millions upon millions of voters...a thread:

It is a Republic or is supposed to be. And in 2020 they did, as affirmed repeatedly in state and federal court

How Patriots Get Played:

@RepThomasMassie I am a huge supporter of yours but the notion that Congress should sit this one out isn't correct. Adams and Jefferson discussed making decisions on how to count ballots 1796 & 1800. ECA is unconstitutional. In event of no ascertainable majority House elects iaw 12th Amendment.

Courts didn't want to do their duty to settle controversies? Fine. Congress must but not through invoking the ECA. That creates a new unconstitutional way of electing President. Instead support the House election method iaw w/ the 12th A. when the time comes. Thanks.

People will say, "but Biden will have majority."

No, he doesn't. AZ, NV, WI, MI, PA, and GA are ALL in question. Subtract those as being indeterminable due to fraud and/or Constitutional election law violations and you're left with Trump winning.

BUT.....

There isn't a mechanism for excluding states totally from the process so every reasonable step should be take to ensure they are all able, in one way or another, to have their due input. That way in this situation is by having the House elect iaw the 12th Amendment.

So...

Instead of Pence just excluding ballots & declaring Trump winner he should exclude the controversial ballots & then send the election to the House, explaining it's the fair option in view of the circumstances instead of just handing Trump a victory while excluding several states.
