Who loves the Book of Revelation? I do. In my youth I opted to study two books of the Bible especially. Daniel and Revelation. After a long break in early adulthood, I found my way back with joy.

2) It's so tempting to follow the path of Revelation 12, where the story of the War in Heaven is told...revealed. Another tempting path pops up. In Genesis, which is now likely my favorite Book of the Bible, we learn of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

2 first up we need to understand what this latest report is. It adds on a report released by the same group in 2019 claiming to expose the organisation of Madi Sharma. The target this time though is to link @ANI to the Madi Sharma network

3 it claims this is a 15 year operation, IE started by the UPA government under Dr Manmohan Singh. Curiously though in these 15 years it can find only 12 instances of where @ANI this news website called EU chronicle. IE less than once a year.

4 this is key, because we need to understand that their sample set for this “vast disinformation network” is exactly 12 articles - a serious sampling error by any stretch. But the innuendoes and stretches here are mind boggling. Let’s start with this image: it claims EU chronicle

I have never come across a moment in my professional career where I have found arrogance to be useful.

It costs you every time you employ it.

But there are times when the benefit of being arrogant outweighs the damage it does.

Arrogance is the quality of being 'unpleasantly proud and behaving as if you are better, or know more than other people'.

This is the actual definition of it.

And it means the only time arrogance serves well is when being unpleasant & up yourself, works in your favour.

Arrogance makes it easy to repel people you don't want to associate yourself with.

If you're a leader or in a position of influence, its very easy for your pleasantness to be mistaken for availability,

in which everyone would flock to abuse it with no regard or respect.

Allowing everyone your time will devalue your credibility down to those who have none.

So it makes sense to be unpleasant around those you don't want to waste time around.

It also makes others work hard to get your recognition & availability.

If you've worked hard to get to where you are, not everyone has the right for your availability.

Arrogance insulates you from those who seek clout & extract value off you. Its a useful tool to employ to preserve your time.

But even then, you risk repelling people of value.

It is, quite literally, a whitewash. It uses all the standard statistical tricks to avoid concluding a stark and glaring conclusion, which is otherwise plain to see. That there was a sustained, targeted and focussed attack by Pakistani men on white working class and Sikh girls.

**Choose limited data points**

One way to force a conclusion is to only range over a small and carefully chosen set of data points. In this case, the report used a limited number of use cases which largely ignored the high profile grooming gangs of Pakistani origin.

Only Rotherham was considered in earnest, as it could hardly be ignored as the start of it all.

A typical data trick is to only use one troublesome dataset - generally the most high profile one. This gives plausible denial on accusations of manipulation of source data.

I see that there is a lot of chat about ancestry and indigeneity, two complex and profoundly misunderstood concepts. Here’s a thread 1/N - I have written about these ideas extensively, in two books;

With both ancestry and indigeneity, the pertinent question is ‘when?’ If you claim ancestry from a certain group of people, then you are timestamping when you consider these ancestors to be important (to you). 3/N

Similarly, with claims of indigeneity, there is no agreed time when this kicks in.

There are a few places that have been populated by human in recent history, and so logical claims of an indigenous people make more sense, e.g. the Māori of New Zealand were the first humans to live on Aotearoa from the 12th C.

Wondering whether Canada & BC might domesticate UNDRIP seems besides the point since UNDRIP itself explicitly recognizes the sovereignty of settler colonial states (above Native sovereignty) in Article 46. Article 27 recognizes colonial law as able to "adjudicate" Native rights.

Canada & BC (for the most part) have not even been parties to the many Treaties involving Indigenous peoples on these territories, let alone respected or adhered to them. Treaties are ostensibly international law, while UNDRIP is not.

Most of BC has no Treaties. BC is a rogue province that was formed in violation of the Royal Proclamation of 1763 & Duty of Disallowance of 1875. The modern BC "treaty" process was started in response to the many Native blockades in the 1980s & 90s (more than any other province.)

At the time of adopting UNDRIP last year, BC's Premier & Minister of Indigenous Relations publicly stated that First Nations would not have a "veto", that Native rights were the same as those "all peoples" have, & that Bill 41 doesn't give UNDRIP "legal force and effect."

BC's adoption of UNDRIP is not a conspiracy or trojan horse. It's conducted openly in collaboration with the settler corporate community. As the CEO of the First Nations LNG Alliance said, “I see UNDRIP creating more certainty. I’m hoping that investors hear this message."

After 20+ years of pastoring, a thread of some thoughts for you youngsters and seminarians:

First, theology is important, but probably not in the way that you think it is.

Bottom line: theology—when pastoring—must be relentlessly tied to helping your church live out the faith.

In seminary, theology can serve primarily as an intellectual exercise, as the ultimate mind games. So we ask Qs like:

Does God predestine souls to an eternal destination before birth?
How do we reconcile the existence of God/evil?
How to make sense of certain Scriptures?

Etc.

These are good and even helpful—if we are constructing a pastoral framework with them. It is helpful to remember that many questions/situations have a *theological* response and a separate *pastoral* response. While the pastoral response may be informed by theology, it is unique.

For example: When a church member tells me he has an inoperable brain tumor, my theological treatise on God and evil is tone deaf, and, frankly, likely pastoral malpractice.

The pastoral response in that situation? To sit. To grieve. To hug. To say, “I am so sorry.” To pray.

Later, at some point, that same church member *will* be ready for a theological discussion of “Why?” But, even then, I must remember this is not a classroom. I am not attempting to win an argument. I am helping a very real human make sense of reality. That is what theology does.

One thing people on the Right could learn from the Left: stop treating elections and court cases as either total victories or final defeats. The battle for truth, justice, and the American Way is never-ending. Never let either friends or foes convince you otherwise.

Granted, there is far too much centralized coercive power in our system, so a lot of bad things can happen after a national election. The stakes are always high - much *too* high for a constitutional republic of sovereign citizens.

But generally speaking, the Left has long been better about using power when they have it, and redoubling their efforts to regain power after they lose it. The Right is more susceptible to all-is-lost fatalism and hopelessness born of deep (and often justified) cynicism.

Left-wing groups are more likely to see themselves as fighting endless crusades. If they lose an election, it means the voters were wrong and must be re-educated or punished, or the election was stolen by the dastardly Republicans. They never question their righteousness.

That's the level of commitment to cause that you must be ready to contend with if you're hoping conservative beliefs will prevail. In fact, even greater commitment is required, because too much of our corrupt political and media system inherently favors collectivism.
