I really enjoy those posts where people have so much to say that they need multiple tweets.

I think they're called threads.

This is kinda like one of those threads.

3/9
But I don't have a story to tell or anything interesting to actually share

I've now also worked out if you click the plus button below, you can keep adding to the thread

And get this, you can go back through all the tweets to then add your numbers!

I always wondered how people knew in tweet 1 that it was 1 of x tweets. Were the thoughts that clear in their head that they knew how many it would take? Did the edit it in a different program? Were they just really good at guessing?

7/9
Nope - they just used this thread feature and edited the numbers at the very end. Very sneaky.

8/9
This is the last one nine of nine tweets.

Click *like* if you've been inspired by this thread.

9/9
Oh look, even after you have finished the thread and clicked 'tweet all' you can come back and keep adding to the thread.

I was one of the first 9000 users on Twitter (#EarlyAdopter) - I can't believe I only just discovered this feature!

😬🤤😎

“We don’t negotiate salaries” is a negotiation tactic.

Always. No, your company is not an exception.

A tactic I don’t appreciate at all because of how unfairly it penalizes low-leverage, junior employees, and those loyal enough not to question it, but that’s negotiation for you after all. Weaponized information asymmetry.

I have seen this happen *extremely* rarely, mostly to women, and anyway is a giant red flag. It suggests you probably didn’t want to work there.

You wish there was no negotiating so it would all be more fair? I feel you, but it’s not happening.

Instead, negotiate hard, use your privilege, and then go and share numbers with your underrepresented and underpaid colleagues. […]
