✅ An introduction to Price and Volume Action.

 There is a saying in the indian stock exchange " Bhav Bhagwan Che ! " which forms the basis for price action and ultimately technical analysis.

Price Action is basically looking at price and the actions/ patterns it made during the tug of war betweern bulls and bears.
Price action helps us identify proper buy and sell areas.

It helps us understand supply and demand zones and based on the patterns we can assume who is going to take ground either bulls or bears.
We use candlestick to understand price action. Candlesticks are technical tools which helps us by providing sessions Open, High, Low & Closing price of that candle in a graphical representation which looks like a candle.
A candle stick is a tug of war between bulls and bears. We come to know who when when looking at closing price. So if the closing is above opening then bull have won and if cloing below open then bears have won. By this you must have understood how important is closing price
Closing range (CR) shows the power of the winning group by representing where the close within the range of high to low .
So in case bulls have won but closing is covering 65% of range means the bulls have beaten bears with only a slim range which means bulls are still not so strong and vice versa for bears.
One can use Closing range in higher time frame to take trade in lower time frame. Like looking at CR of Weekly candle and taking trade in Daily candle.

Volumes also play a pivotal role in assessing prower of the leading team.
If the bulls are winning but not with good volumes then this indicates bulls are not strong enough and can be taken over by bears and vice versa.

Usually one should also add avg line in the volume indicator to assess whether the winning team is strong or not.
IF bulls have won and the volume is green and above avg line then we can say bulls have beaten bears.

Price action consist of Uptrend, Downtrend & Consolidation. Uptrend means bulls are making price to form Higher highs and higher lows where it doesnt breach its Higher low .
Downtrend means bears are making price form Lower Highs and Lower Lows where it doesnt break it Lower Higha. Consolidation is a stage of confusion where there isn't any confirmation whether bears are strong or bulls.
Consolidation can also be stated as " Peace beform the Storm" means there can be a big move in coming times depening upon the market sentiment for the script.
Supply and Demand Zones are the crucial areas in chart which dictates price for a script as Smart money flows through these zones( FII, DII). Institutions plot their buy price at/near demand zones and sell price at/near supply zones.
One can go through buy/sell position of FII's & DII's on NSE/BSE site.

Horn Candlestick Pattern

• Horn Bottom - Bullish
• Horn Top - Bearish

A horn pattern is a sudden spike in stock price.

The pattern looks like two horns of a bull or the letter "H"

It’s a 3 candlestick pattern.


• Horn Bottom

Horn Bottom occurs during downtrend with 2 candles which shows resemblance to horns implying that bears have lost ground as they have reached lower price now its bulls turn to lead the market

Long trades occurs when the script breaks the high of 2nd horn candle.


The area where horn bottom occured becomes a strong support zone

• Horn Top

Horn Top occurs during uptrend with 2 candles which shows resemblance to horns implying that bulls have lost ground as they have reached higher price now its bears turn to lead the market

Short selling occurs when the script breaks the low of 2nd horn candle

1) Ascending triangle occurs after Bullish trend which shows continuation in the prevailing trend.

What is pyramiding?

In pyramiding we add on to a position when it is going in our direction. Its basically opposite of averaging down.

MOMENTUM - Success of a pyramiding trade depend on this ingredient, the more the momentum the better pyramiding.


There are many way to enter and exit in a stock-

1. ALL IN - ALL OUT
2. ALL IN - SCALE OUT
3. SCALE IN - SCALE OUT
4. SCALE IN - ALL OUT ( I use this one)

Why traders use Pyramiding ?

More than anything what pyramiding do is keep your losers small and your winners - Big.

Pyramiding in my view keeps your dd smaller as your losers are very small because you enters with only a fraction of what you would have entered Normally.

BUT, not necessarily it should be more profitable than ALL IN- ALL OUT, Where one enters all at once and sell all at once.

HOW TO DO PYRAMIDING-

There are various methods which are used by traders for pyramiding ,while keeping the basic concept of adding onto the strength.

Imagine we have an investment opportunity.

If the investment goes well, we get to double our money.

But if it goes badly, we'll end up losing three fourths of it.

There's a 50/50 chance of either outcome.

The question: is this a good bet or not?

A simple way to approach this question is to calculate the bet's "expectation".

For every $1 we bet, there are 2 possibilities:

1. The lucky case, where we double our money and end up with $2, and

2. The unlucky case, where we lose (3/4)'th to end up with just $0.25.

Each of these outcomes is equally likely.

So, on *average*, every $1 we put in turns into ($2 + $0.25)/2 = $1.125.

This is a *positive* 12.5% return.

Such bets are called *positive expectation* bets. On average, we expect to *make* (rather than *lose*) money on them.

Suppose we could take many turns betting at these odds.

In any one turn, we could of course lose money.

But because our bet has positive expectation, *over time* we expect to make money.

Trader X -

Net-worth - 5 Cr
Trading capital - 25 lakh

Trader Y -

Net-worth - 30 lakh
Trading capital - 25 lakh

Trader X take risk of 2% per trade and he makes about 30-40 % Return on trading capital per month,

Whereas Trader Y only risk 0.25% per trade and he makes about 3-4 % on Trading capital per month.

Trader Y saw how much trader X is making with the same amount of capital that he has.

He is frustrated with his mediocre results as compared to Trader X, though he don’t know the fact that Trader X Is only trading with 5 % of his total net worth.

Trader X has much more risk taking ability in Rupee terms as compared to the Trader Y because he has higher net-worth.

Trader X will not have much impact when he goes into deep Drawdowns , 40-50% where as if the Trader Y goes below 15% DD , it will have deep psychological impact on him.

Even if the Trader X makes 100% return on his trading capital , turns 25 lakh into 50 lakhs ,

I'm going to share what I've learned in this thread.

Here's the simple 10 step process: 🧵

1. Check on the daily chart if Bank Nifty is in a higher high or lower low:

A higher-high (HH) is a bullish pattern, it signifies that it is difficult for the market to go down.

If that has formed on the daily chart, the market will give all the surprises on the upside.


If the market is in a higher high mode, look for good opportunities to sell puts.

Usually, at a higher high, traders buy on breakouts and also buy the dips.

If you want a good Risk-Reward, you can sell puts on a dip. (Only if it's showing some reversal)

2. Take High Probability Trades

Simply knowing a higher high or lower low does not make money. It gives you a bias for the week.

Still, you should try to take higher probability trades that align with your view of the market.

This will get you consistency and a good mindset.

3. Support & Resistance

I would say Support Resistance is the most important and favorite thing for @niki_poojary.

She keeps updating these levels with charts on her Twitter handle during live markets daily.

Attaching some examples will do a detailed thread on this later.

In the Hindu Epic Mahabharata, Ashwatthama or Drauni is the son of Dronacharya and the grandson of the Bharadwaj Rishi. Ashwatthama was a Maharathi who fought alongside the Kauravas against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra War.


According to the Mahabharata, Ashwatthama means the sacred sound associated with the sound of a horse. He was given the name Ashwatthama because when he was born, he cried like a horse.

Here are some interesting facts about Ashwatthama.

- Ashwathama is one of the Ashta Chiranjeevi, Eight Immortals. Ashwatthama was born with a jewel on his forehead, giving him power over all living beings lower than humans. The jewel protected him from hunger, thirst, and fatigue.


- His strength is almost equal to Arjuna’s, especially in archery. Among the Kuru princes, he was good friends with Duryodhan, the eldest son of Dhritarashtra. They both have jealousy towards the Pandavas.


Duryodhan felt that Yudhisthir was his obstacle in inheriting the throne of Hastinapur, while Arjun’s talent made Ashwatthama jealous because he felt that his father’s love had been divided. After all, Arjuna was Drona’s favourite student.

There was an Asura, Kaumasura, who was doing penance to please Shiva and get a boon. To prevent him from asking for a boon, Devi Saraswati made him dumb (hence called Mookasur)
Later, Adi Parashakti slayed him and came to be called Mookambika.


It is said that Adi Shankaracharya had a vision in which Devi agreed to follow him provided he did not look back. He kept walking and was assured of her presence due to the sound of anklets. When he reached here in Kollur, he turned back as the sound of anklets had stopped.


So Devi stayed here and merged with the lingam. The place came to be called Mookambika Kshetram.
The linga has integrated on it’s left side MahaKali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswathi and on the right side- Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.


A swarna rekha (gold line) divides this linga into left and right portion. Adi Shakthi in this Udhbhavlinga form appears only here.
Devi sits in padmasana and has 4 hands.
Adi Shankaracharya installed the Sri Chakra in front of Devi and also composed the Soundarya Lahiri here.
