 HEALTH
- The new sick kids hospital has had many issues including the ventilation and has been pushed back numerous times. Imagine if it had been opened on time and we had been able to treat more covid patienst there reducing strain on our NHS?
- The drug related detahs in Scotland are the highest simce records began. After the SNP govt. cut drug rehabilitation services after being told in doing so would have such consequences. They set up a task force which didn’t meet for the first time until months after being set up
- The SNP keep saying that they need Drug Powers devolved to treat this as a health problem, not criminal. If it’s a health problem use the powers of health? Just a thought. However. As soon as they came into power numbers have increased. Funny that eh?
We don’t need more powers we just need to use the powers we have properly and fund rehab services properly to tackle this.
- The treatment time guarantee was enshrined in law at 100% of patients would recive treatment within 12 weeks. In 2019 it was only at 72%
- Cancer patients target shave not been met including cancer patient referral targets.
- We are also heading into a mental health crisis when support is currently not there
- A&E Targets have not been met since 2018
- The coronavirus pandemic saw the worst care home deaths in Scotland after it emerged that the scotgov had told staff that once they had been tested they could go back into a care home (without a test result). There was an outbreak in february which we didn’t know about
until late march / April and the R number in February was around 7. Aberdeen had a couple of cases and saw a full lockdown. Glasgow at one point had more than 1000 cases per 100k which was a worse rate than Aberdeen, yet galsgow wasn’t put into lockdown putting the whole country
at risk. The vaccination programme was also lagging and letters are not being sent because the scotgov never got blue envelopes.

EDUCATION
- The CfE is flawed
- The snp pledged to replace the student loans system with a means tested grant
- The attainment gap is widening
- They also pledged to remove the burden of debt repayments
- Teachers numbers down by 1000s

- They have failed to improve education in deprived areas, this was seen at the 2019 exam results where pupils got downgraded because of their postcode
- Students from down south are more likely to go to university than students in Scotland
- Standards in maths, English and science are either stagnated or declining
- Failed to reduce class sizes
- 12/13 year olds cant count up in 2s (know from personal experience)
ECONOMY
- Businesses have been decimated because of the lack of support form the ScotGovt. this isn't because of WM as we've had unprecedented levels of support. The SNP have just not released it
- They have try to block FOI requests from people trying to find where the
funding is
- Want to take us down a constitutional debate when we are facing the worst recession in 300 years
- The economy was struggling as it was pre-covid and this has made things harder, for everyone
- But Independence will get priority
- Gap between scot employment and
UK employment 2% in first time in 2 decades

SOCIAL
- The life expectancy in Scotland has decreased
- Mortality rates between the least deprived and most deprived are highest since 2008 (SNP came into power 2007)
- Failed to end Fuel Poverty
- Failed to tackle inequality
- Cut council budgets by 7% between 2013/14 and 2019/20
(in same time budget from Uk was only cut by 2%)
- Govanhill highly impoverished
- Alyn Smith "equalities are close to my heart, but not as close as independence"

INFRASTRUCTURE
- Pot hole-ridden roads
- Failed Ferry contracts
- Failed ventilation in hospitals
- Leaky police stations

JUSTICE
- Hate Crime bill has potential to stifle freedom of speech. It has been criticised by religious institutions, the police, politicians from ALL parties, Actors, Comedians, Musicians.
In whole it's clear the SNP are not stronger for Scotland. Although these are just some things that are problematic the list can go on. This has been going on for far too long (14 years) and it's time we've had enough. The country is struggling with this pandemic
and the only thing that matters is independence. The nationalist will foam at the mouth at this and say its all false but you can't change the facts. No amount of popularity from the leader will alter that.

1. Short thread - on the various claims we're seeing from Republican politicians over the last few days that the Democratic push for accountability is "divisive." Damn right it's divisive - that is what it has to be.

2. It is intended to enforce a clear division between those who accept and are committed to democracy and those who are willing to turn to violence when the vote doesn't turn out the way that they want it to.

3. One of the basic implications of Adam Przeworski's theoretic work is that democracy is made out of mutually reinforcing expectations, and those expectations are fragile. If some actors think they would be better off defecting from the democratic bargain, they will.

4. In other words: democracy and armed factionalism are far closer than we think, or we would like them to be. This means that it is incredibly important to police the boundaries between them. Allowing some to turn to violence can lead to expectation collapse and cascading ruin.

5. When we allow the divisions to become blurred, that means that we are running the perpetual risk of things getting fucked up. If a major faction turns to violence, and no-one responds, things can get really fucked up really, really fast.

It takes guts to truly face hard truths. But facing them is the only way to protect oneself going forward. This is why I keep reminding people that the Republican Party is beyond repair. 1/

The Republican Party’s internal structures, at the state and federal level, are dominated by people actively opposed to democratic pluralism, rule of law, and U.S. constitutionalism. 2/

Once a political party refuses to drop its support for a leader, in this case Donald Trump, who constantly and consistently betrayed the country throughout his time in office that party cannot be salvaged as a player in U.S. constitutional democracy. 3/

Everybody else, from individual rank and file Democrats to President Joe Biden, must radically overhaul how they deal with people who do not disaffiliate from the Republican Party. 4/

Anybody who remains a Republican at this point must be presumed to be an enemy of U.S. constitutionalism, rather than as somebody with right wing policy views. 5/

On digging a beautiful Vigraham of Murugan was found, but lower portion was very rough. So he called a great sculptor to soften it. Everyone was shocked to see that on the first chisel the vigraham bleeded.


Land lord realized that Murugan wanted the Vigraham the way it was.

Thus Prathishta was done on Chennimalai hill. It is believed that Sivalaya Chola got relieved from his Brahmahatti Dosha here. Kanda Shasti Kavacham was first offered here.

Stambheshwar Mahadev is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva, located in Kavi Kamboi in Bharuch District District of Gujarat, India. The Temple is about 150 years old. 1/n

So I was talking to @gewt about Job: A Comedy of Justice and I came up with a theory that I think explains why Heinlein's late-period work is so kinda-terrible and why I still enjoy it so much


So Heinlein had always been very interesting in the short parts of his novels, like the little snippets inside chapters. He had a very fun writing style, and wrote some fun dialogue with fun characters, right?>
It probably comes from how much of his early stuff was short fiction

And I think what happened with a lot of his longer works is that he'd just start writing fun bits and hope it would end up going somewhere or having a bigger plot by the end. like eventually he'd figure out where this was going, then go back and rewrite it into a cohesive whole

and I'm sure he had editors that'd help this process. No editor would let you publish something as rambly and changing-gears-every-other-chapter as The Number Of The Beast, for example... unless you were God-King Of Science Fiction 1980s Robert Heinlein.

so basically I think what happened is that by the 80s (when he was in his seventies!!) he lost the drive to go back and rewrite and he was too Untouchable for editors to make him.

It is said that Narsimha’s fierce nature is soothed by worshipping him with Varaha, considered a peaceful deity


The shrine is believed to have been constructed by Prahlada. With time, it crumbled.
In Treta yuga, King Pururava was passing from here in his vimana. The vimana was attracted to this place by a mystic power.
When the place was unearthed, the deity was found.

Pururava’s wife, Urvashi, had a dream that the deity should remain covered in sandalwood paste for the whole year except on Akshaya Tritiya.
This practice has continued till date.
The mukhya mandap here, has a pillar kappam stambham believed to possess curative powers.


Chandanotsava/ Chandan Yatra is the most important festival celebrated on Akshaya Tritiya. The sandalwood paste is removed from the moolavar deity and nijarupa darshan (original form of deity) for twelve hours of the day are done by devotees.
