2. It's no secret that Munger has a contempt for crypto

While there are legitimate use cases (IMO), Munger hates the negative spillover it brings.

3. On whether there'll be a major interest rate increase

Japan managed to maintain low interest rates and reduce their debt without compromising their living standards.

But we're not sure if the U.S. can pull off the same trick.

Here's why:

Terry Smith is often referred to as "the English Warren Buffett".

He runs Fundsmith which has a fund size of £27.9bn.

Despite the size, Fundsmith did a CAGR of 18.4%.

In his book Investing for Growth, he explains his investing philosophy.

Here's a breakdown:

1. Fundsmith's winning formula

Find companies that focus on delivering value.

Not those who are looking to pacify Wall Street with short-term results.

2. Avoiding "cheap" companies?

Low multiples are not a reason to buy a company.

A ship will continue to sink if it has a hole in it.

"A stock may have a low valuation but an even lower intrinsic value. Buying such a stock is not a recipe for investment success."

3. Getting quality right

For long-term investors, getting the quality of the business is more important than the valuation.

“An investor could have paid 281 times earnings for L’Oréal, 156 times for Colgate, and 147 times for Brown-Forman and still beat the market.”

4. "Unprofitable" companies could be good investments

Many of the best companies don't show earnings today.

But that's because they're heavily reinvesting for the future.

It's just that the earnings hasn't show up.

Peter Lynch averaged 29.2% annual return between 1977 to 1990.

His books One Up Wall Street and Beating the Street offered great insights into his success.

Here are my top 10 lessons from the legend:

1. This quote was so good Warren Buffett cited it in his shareholder letter.

“Selling your winners and holding your losers is like cutting the flowers and watering the weeds.”

2. Volatility is the price of admission.

“People who succeed in the stock market also accept periodic losses, setbacks, and unexpected occurrences. Calamitous drops do not scare them out of the game.”

3. On how many stocks you should own.

"Owning stocks is like having children. Don't get involved with more than you can handle."

4. On making mistakes.

"There's no shame in losing money on a stock. Everybody does it. What is shameful is to hold on to a stock, or worse, to buy more of it when the fundamentals are deteriorating."

I got serious about Twitter on April 12th 2020.

Since that day:

I've raised $5MM and met with over 200 future investors in my real estate deals.

I've done $75k worth of consulting.

And I've met mentors and friends I'll carry with me for life.

First of all I tried the mainstream advice and built my own blog, podcast, email list, YouTube. Spent 2 years. 500k downloads. Some success.

1. Stay on topic.

The most valuable folks here are here to learn. They curate their feed. They want business and to LEARN.

No fantasy football. No gifs. No pop culture. No one liner jokes.

Be an expert at what you do. Stay on brand.

2. No politics.

At all. Ever. It’s a great way to piss off (and say goodbye) to 1/2 the folks here.

Not everybody feels the way you do and the smartest folks don’t want your opinion. Nothing good comes of it. So avoid it.

3. Be incredibly open

Nobody will steal your ideas. Yes it’s uncomfortable and yes you’ll get challenged.

I shared my profit and loss statements on here. It led to discussions with many brilliant folks in the DMs and several folks who wanted to partner reaching out.

In @Ripple’s Answer it asserted a defense that the SEC should be barred from claiming #XRP is a security today because it violates Due Process and principles of Fair Notice. Previously, I discussed a similar concept called the doctrine of equitable

estoppel. I explained the law protects a party from being harmed by another party's voluntary conduct. That conduct may be ACTIONS, INACTION, SILENCE, or ACQUIESCENCE. Although the SEC never declared XRP a non-security, for EIGHT YEARS it openly traded in unison with #ETH and

#BTC. During this time, some from the SEC, including Clayton, commented that #BTC and/or #ETH were not securities. For 8 years the SEC’s actions, inaction, silence and acquiescence implied that XRP was also NOT a security. Let’s review a few of the SEC’s actions, inaction,

silence and/or acquiescence related to #XRP. (1) During the period of time the SEC claims XRP was a security, the SEC granted Ripple permission to take a minority stake in MoneyGram (MGI). Ripple invested $50 million purchasing approximately 9% of MGI. The SEC approved this

purchase of MGI with the full knowledge that Ripple would encourage MGI to use XRP as a cross-border utility token related to remittances. The SEC allowed the use of this so-called illegal security to be utilized not just by Ripple, but by MGI. The SEC admitted to this knowledge
