Brief THREAD: OK, basics civics lesson to all these ignorant/dishonest R legislators/leaders/media folk who seem to have NO understanding of the law or the U.S. Constitution.

/1

1. If you enter my place of business & you start calling for an over-throw of the U.S. govt, or shout racist stuff or yell insults at me or my employees or my staff - I will ask you to leave & have the police remove you if U refuse. /2
2. In banning U from my place of business, I have NOT violated any of your rights. U have no right to disrupt my place of business and I have every right to not allow disgusting ppl like you to verbally abuse me, my customers or staff. /3
3. In fact, one of the great things abt American ideals (tho not always f/u in reality) that we should not allow discrimination based on a person's race, sex, religion, class, sexual orientation, disability, etc, BUT indvl citizens have a RIGHT to free association. /4
4. Similarly, businesses should not be allowed to discriminate based on race, sex, religion, class, sexual orientation, disability, etc, but can forbid/ban based on behavior/speech. /5
5. I personally think that all decent ppl should advocate for boycotting businesses that promote/allow racists/bigot, those who incite violence/hate, &those who repeatedly&shamelessly bare false witness, & reward those like Amazon/Google/Reddit/Twitter who took a stand /6
"But what abt my 1st Amendment rights" ignorant/lying ppl like @HawleyMO, @tedcruz & @marcorubio might ask. That's a stupid Q, I'd answer. The 1st Amendment only applies to limiting actions/laws of the U.S. Congress (see below). /7
6. We private citizens have every right to seek to not associate with Racists/Traitors/Bigots/Idiots/Liars & encourage our social media businesses to ban such ppl & threaten abandoning them if they don't & boycotting all businesses that support such evil. /8
7. Finally, free speech is NOT unlimited, & even the U.S. Constitution forbids treason & advocating the violent overthrow of the U.S. Govt & the Republic.

The GOP got rid of the SCOTUS filibuster so they could jam through three fringy right-wing Alito clones, including one right before the election, but sure thing, bud.

“Uh, actually, they got rid of the SCOTUS filibuster because Harry Reid did it first for something totally different! I am very smart!”

No. Knock it off.

Here’s the thing about the “But Harry Reid...” excuse:

1. McConnell was holding up Obama nominees, some *for literal years* without a vote.

2. Had he *not* done that, Trump would have inherited *even more* vacant seats.
