The way the club has got into this mess is of course mismanagement going back years, but we are where we are.

 Dont expect to much vs Chelsea, but BHA and WB they need results, or frankly he's gone, and then what.
As much as i want to blame the owners, they have overseen an overhaul that has given much if not all of the shaping of the club over to Edu. So yes, its on them, but its also on him, and frankly he has been inept.
First one that needs to be shown the door, and if you sack MA then Edu needs to be gone at the same time. Someone on the board, who is based in this country needs to be appointed to oversee with checks and balances on whats going on.
Edu allowed the shaping of the squad in the summer, trying to ostracise players so that they leave and then of course they dont, has allowed for a situation that off field, players have taken sides. This has seeped through the squad and the club is broken because of it.
So much is seeping out of Colney now that its a situation that cant go on. The club need to show the door to players on Jan 1, not Jan 10, or Jan 28th on JAN 1 - pay them off and be gone.
Nobody is paying money for these players, and if the club isnt willing to do that, then frankly this process of backing the manager is meaningless, he will be gone because events will take over.
That will be 4 managers that many of these players will have seen the back of. Nows the time the club sees the back of these players.
Why are they even training with the 1st team anyway, What good is set piece routines if Ozil, or Sok, or Saliba is involved in them if there is no chance said players will be playing with the other players on a matchday.
And not in anyway advocating that the manager is not at major fault here.
If the goalkeeper last night is good enough, and of course he isn't, and should never represent us again then so you would have thought was Saliba. Why no ESR from the start, who with one pass forward did more than any of our MF have done this season.
Why was the summer allowed to fall apart with no creative midfielder being brought in, thats at Edu's door? Again, though had plenty of time to sign players from his own agents stable, and over rewards said players. 4yrs for a backup full back??
This is as dire situation as ive seen at the club going back to the 80's. Players treading water, not caring and actively undermining this manager and previous ones, with an owner who has overseen as the majority shareholder the degradation of club to where we are now.
So now what, scrape round for loans for Jan? Who can even advocate spending money if we dont even know the manager will be there at the end of Jan, let alone a new manager not wanting the previous managers signings.
It does always take time, but in general people get found out, Mark Hughes and Kia at City and QPR anyone?
Sven walked out when he saw what he was dealing with, ook at what he's delivered up where he is now. In turn we brought in a marketing man from Barcelona who paid £72m for player (not his fault) probably worth £25m,& has people wondering where was the oversight on that transfer!
So, simple choice now, back him and remove the issues straight away, or sack him, and then what, and more importantly who, as we may as well just wait for the summer for a new man if they wont action whats needed on the player front in Jan.

Many of us are about to begin a new semester of online teaching. The learning curve for moving my lecture units last semester was STEEP, so I compiled some sort of hand over notes to people approaching this for the first time. I hope it's useful for someone somewhere.

Reduction in the amount of content was important. What used to be 2 x 1 hr in-person lectures/week had to be condensed down into 6 x 10 minute prerecorded videos (aka aynchronounous content) with 1 x hr live zoom session (synchronous). Even that was too much.

For the sake of yourself and your students, SLASH. Slash your content down. This doesn't mean having to lose important stuff, but keeping it short and sweet.

10 minute video chunks was just about short enough to hold attention. Have you tried watching an online lecture? It is HARD to maintain focus. The shorter the better.

Importantly, each 10 minute video had an explicit Intended Learning Objective given at the end and in the associated text, so that everyone knew what the point was (and how this might relate to assessment later).

On teaching without grades.

So, you know how you write lots of comments on an essay/exam, and the student looks at the grade and never reads the comments? That's because when grades enter the picture, the learning stops. /1

Instead of focusing on learning, there is a lot of negotiation: can we find one or two points on the midterm as the student is just on the verge of A-?

Everyone is just on the verge of the next grade.

And all the evals are not about the class but about the grading. Really? /2


Is the grade at all informative? If you are just below the A- or just above that, is that giving the student any information about how to improve their knowledge or skills? No. t is just a useless, demoralizing & stressful smoke screen /3


Students' abilities, challenges, and learning are multidimensional. Providing feedback on these many dimensions is much more useful for promoting growth and learning than are quantized unidimensional grades. /3.5

There is an alternative: do away with grades. Keep the feedback -- lots of it (this is not less work for us teachers) but never summarize it in a unidimensional uninformative number (unless you absolutely have to). /4

1. Define a Background

For this thread we will be selling Mass Gainer protein shakes to college men that want to gain weight.

Go deep and make a full profile up of one of these people.

You want to include:
> age
> job
> what they do in free time
> what they’re feeling

Example:

Brad is a junior in college (21 years old). He does work during the week and parties on the weekends.

He started going to the gym with his friends but isn’t really seeing results. He’s starting to get frustrated and wants to find a cure to his problems.

2. Define Their Goals and Challenges

When you define these things, you can use them in your copy.

Painting your ideal customer’s pain points throughout your copy is important.

You need to show them that they have a problem, and you can solve.

Example:

Brad is fairly skinny and wants to gain weight fast.

He’s tried eating more but can’t eat enough, or maybe he eats the wrong things.

Whatever it might be, it’s not working and he’s getting frustrated.

Mukkudi Nivedyam is a very special offering to Dhanwantari. It is prepared by using dry ginger, pepper, pomegranate peel, cumin seed, turmeric, rock salt and other medicinal items. It is offered during 'Usha- Pooja', and is later on distributed to the devotees present there.

1. Now that Stan Lee is being eulogized far and wide, it's important to remember how marginal Stan Lee and his collaborators (Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko) were in the 1950s and 1960s.

2. Marvel Comics (before that Atlas) was just a cog in the machine of a bottom pulp publisher run by Martin Goodman, the husband of one of Lee's cousins. It was the lowest of the low in the publishing world.

3. Now Mario Puzo (not yet the author of the Godfather) shared offices with Stan Lee in the 1950s and 1960s. Puzo wrote for garrish men's adventure magazines and, like Lee, dreamed of writing a novel & breaking out. But Puzo looked down on Lee.

4. Flo Steinberg, 1960s secretary at Marvel: "They were always making jokes about us. They'd come in and giggle. mario Puzo would look in and would see us all working on his way to the office and say, 'Work faster, little elves. Christmas is coming.'"

So, I want to talk about how sexual harassment and fair pay are linked at Google (and beyond), because I think that's an angle that isn't being highlighted enough in the coverage of these walk-outs. I'm going to frame it largely around my personal experience there. Thread.

When I was sexually harassed by the director of the area I was working in, I was afraid to report it because I was worried that "getting him in trouble" would result in the subtle retaliation of missed leadership opportunities.

I wanted to continue working on the team I was on, because I'd gained a lot of very deep knowledge and expertise in that area, as well as reputation and camaraderie with the other folks working in that area. I didn't want to make the situation more "difficult."

To get promoted at Google, several need to happen: 1. you need opportunities for ownership and leadership above your current level (basically, opportunities to show you're working at the next level you're trying to get promoted to). The work you're "assigned" has a big impact.

2. You need glowing reviews from peers, *at or particularly above the level you're hoping to get promoted to.* Basically, you need people a lot more senior than you to say you're doing awesome work.

The entire discussion around Facebook’s disclosures of what happened in 2016 is very frustrating. No exec stopped any investigations, but there were a lot of heated discussions about what to publish and when.


In the spring and summer of 2016, as reported by the Times, activity we traced to GRU was reported to the FBI. This was the standard model of interaction companies used for nation-state attacks against likely US targeted.

In the Spring of 2017, after a deep dive into the Fake News phenomena, the security team wanted to publish an update that covered what we had learned. At this point, we didn’t have any advertising content or the big IRA cluster, but we did know about the GRU model.

This report when through dozens of edits as different equities were represented. I did not have any meetings with Sheryl on the paper, but I can’t speak to whether she was in the loop with my higher-ups.

In the end, the difficult question of attribution was settled by us pointing to the DNI report instead of saying Russia or GRU directly. In my pre-briefs with members of Congress, I made it clear that we believed this action was GRU.
