I’ll reply with reasoning!
Spider-Man 3 - I fucking love Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and that cliffhanger! Zendaya could also step on me so I need more MJ!

Captain Marvel 2 - We stan Carol and also Kamala! Also, lesbian Carol maybe? I hope! MONICA MONICA MONICA MONICA MONICA YES!

Loki - Just Loki himself.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - I love the dynamic these two have and I’d love to see where the Zemo storyline goes!

WandaVision - Monica. Wanda. Vision. Multiverse. Must I say more?
Secret Invasion - I adore this storyline in the comics from what I’ve heard about it! Also Aussie rep is a YES for me!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - I adore Wanda and Strange so much. I can’t wait to see their dynamic!

Ms Marvel - Kamala Khan rights!
Deadpool 3 - I just love the humour and can’t wait for more of it!

Hawkeye - Only for Kate Bishop. I want a GCI replacement with Clint erased. But still KATE!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania - KANG?! YES! Also, HOPE! YES! And Scott is cool!
Thor: Love and Thunder - Thor Jane. Gay Valkyrie. Some Guardians. Taika. Thor. Yes.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - The Guardians, humor, probably Thor, Adam Warlock. HELL YEAH!

Moon Knight - Moon Knight. Oscar Isaac.

Fantastic Four - I love them and I can’t wait for MCU FF!!
Black Widow - I love Nat and the characters but I don’t know why but I’m just not too hyped.

She-Hulk - I don’t know why; I’m not too threatened. But I am looking forward to it!

Black Panther II - With Chad gone, I just... I don’t know. I’m excited for Doom though!
Iron Heart - I don’t think I’m hyped because we don’t know enough yet, but I like Iron Heart herself!

Armour Wars - Eh.

What If - I don’t know what it is, I’m just not too excited

Blade - I’ve never really liked the character of Blade to be honest,I don’t know why
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special - I don’t know why; I’m just not excited, I’m numb to it.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - I never have liked the Mandarin and I just don’t know enough to be excited, it’ll probably go up the more we find out
Eternals - Idk. Idk. I’m just not excited.

I Am Groot - I just don’t like the mini series format tbh

I just finished Eric Adler's The Battle of the Classics, and wanted to say something about Joel Christiansen's review linked below. I am not sure what motivates the review (I speculate a bit below), but it gives a very misleading impression of the book. 1/x

The meat of the criticism is that the history Adler gives is insufficiently critical. Adler describes a few figures who had a great influence on how the modern US university was formed. It's certainly critical: it focuses on the social Darwinism of these figures. 2/x

Other insinuations and suggestions in the review seem wildly off the mark, distorted, or inappropriate-- for example, that the book is clickbaity (it is scholarly) or conservative (hardly) or connected to the events at the Capitol (give me a break). 3/x

The core question: in what sense is classics inherently racist? Classics is old. On Adler's account, it begins in ancient Rome and is revived in the Renaissance. Slavery (Christiansen's primary concern) is also very old. Let's say classics is an education for slaveowners. 4/x

It's worth remembering that literacy itself is elite throughout most of this history. Literacy is, then, also the education of slaveowners. We can honor oral and musical traditions without denying that literacy is, generally, good. 5/x
