🗣 “Kindness helps us to reach out and connect with others, which ultimately builds confidence and allows us to thrive”

What are coaching related gifts are you unwrapping this Christmas? Here’s one of our favourites this year!

By far the best book I have read in a long long time.
One can simply begin from any page, for each note makes so much sense that we get lost in them , sometimes chuckling & often amazed .

Here are MY learnings from
" A Book of Simple Living" by Ruskin Bond.

2/22
The book is enriched with life lessons . Most profound of all for me being ,

#Life is simple despite all its hardships and complexities .
For the purpose of life is to live ....

Now, how we choose to live our life makes it simple or complicated.

3/22

Do we chase #happiness by climbing infinite mountains in the quest for fame & wealth or do we savour the goodness in the little things that often come our way but go unnoticed and unappreciated by us ?
For ultimately , " It is the little things that matter the most ".

4/ 22
#Forgiveness is the key to a good night's sleep . We clutter our minds when we cannot forgive.

We may be wronged many a times but one must learn to forgive even without receiving any apology .

For then the day's deeds are truly done .

5/22
#Nature is the best teacher and companion .
She gives us everything , expecting nothing in return .
But she is a force to reckon with when meddled with ...
Be like nature - generous and kind always but don't let others take you for granted .

" Zen and the Art of Happiness "

It's a simple book but it makes you think .

Few of my takeaways ( with random 2 min doodles).
👇
Firstly,
What is Zen ?

#Zen is a Japanese word that is derived from the Sanskrit word Dhyana meaning "Meditation" .

2/21
Zen is a journey of exploration & a way of living that , in and of itself doesn't belong to any one religion or tradition as such.

Zen doesn't teach. It merely
points, enabling us to wake up & become aware.

Ever noticed how zen stories rarely have predefined morals? 🤓

3/21

The zen of doing anything is doing it with a concentration of mind , a calmness & simplicity of mind, that brings the experience of enlightenment and, through that experience , happiness.

It could be something as mundane as sweeping or peeling potatoes !

#mindfulness

4/21

We are the authors of every NEXT moment.

Therefore the best way for us to get that new experience is to CHANGE our response to what happens.

By natural cause & effect , that NEW RESPONSE will create NEW RESULTS , thereby a NEW REALITY.

Try it to believe it !
#Wisdom

5/21

Unknown to most of us , we all have a life philosophy . A perspective of looking at things , at events & circumstances that befall us.

Our personal #Philosophy determines how we respond to events that occur in our life .
This ultimately is responsible for our happiness.

1/ There are a ton of books about Financial & Fundamental Analysis, Scuttlebutt and Technical Analysis. But there aren't many books 'taking risk'.

Among the few that exist, 'Zurich Axioms', written in 1985, is the best. Here are my key takeaways from the book.

2/ A bit about Max Gunther's (The Author) background. He was an Anglo-American journalist and writer, who wrote 26 Books.

His father, Franz Heinrich, was the New York Head of Schweizerischer Bankverein, which later merged into the famous Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS).

3/ The 'Zurich Axioms' were a set of unwritten rules followed by a informal group of Swiss Bankers and Traders who used to socialize around Wall Street after World War II. Mr. Heinrich was one of the founding members.

Max Gunter formalied these 'Axioms' by writing about them.

4/ There are 12 'Major Axioms' and 16 'Minor Axioms' (Corollary to the Major Axioms) in the book.

But remember, this is MY key takeaways from the book and not an exact summary. So you might find quotes, phrases and links inserted here and there by me (Not from the Author).

5/ Axiom #1: In order to earn returns, you must take risk. Risk will make you worry.

Risk-taking and worrying go hand-in-hand. If you're not worried about an investment, you're not taking risk.

Spend half your energy towards earning an income and the rest towards speculation.

Good morning everyone!! 🌞
Here is a small thread on a beautiful #allegory based upon the Chinese Bamboo .

An allegory that teaches us #patience,#persistence,#hope,#habits, #Growth & Life in general.

2/6
#TheChineseBamboo
The seeds require to be nurtured with love and care for no less than 5 years without showing any results. The first 4 years solely consist of nurturing & tending with NO SIGNS OF GROWTH. But the farmer goes about his job out of habit .+

3/6
In the 5 th yr all of a sudden it begins its exponential growth & shoots to over 90ft in just 6 weeks.
Miraculous , ain't it? 🙂
The farmer tends without knowing the outcome every single day with the same amount of love & concern .He never gives up. He keeps his habit.

Lessons learnt
1) Fundamentals matter. Our survival & success depend on the depth of our roots .
2) One must persevere no matter what. Persistence pays off.
3)Habit or Hope?
I would say both .We need to have faith in ourselves & keep putting in our reps. #Iterations matter +

5/6
Let us plant our #dream & do all that is required for it to become a reality whilst we hope and hone our habits.
