I'm not even a primary member of BJP; I've been following Shri. Narendra Damodardos Modi, from after the carnage caused by an earthquake and it's rehabilitation. I was one of the few southern based citizen to have visited the place, after it's rehabilitation and was amazed at the

manner in which it was done, and also belonged to the clan of believing (more out of hope),that this man will head the country. I also realised that one need not be a BJP or RSS member to stand in support of this man, so young then. I've followed his political stance and stand on
various issues, since then; none has changed even now; yes I do have personal grouses that he has not declared or done to clean up the mess of the greatest fraudsters that this country is still having in @INCIndia , the commies and assorted political gangsters. However,I must add
that as a political analyst, I can understand the political compulsions and implications of any hastened act that can rebound with a non helpful judiciary, the system filled with luteyn media, the freebie lovers and so on,it makes me feel that we are heading in the right direction
and though I may not be around to see the fruit, I can see the flowers grooming. This in spite of several disasters to kill the garden with infective pesticides by the opposition all around. I'm not allowing my personal opinions cloud my assessment of the offices of the PM. That
would be a sad propsition and an unnatural thought. I've no axes to grind and I've no personal ambitions,at this age. There was a period in life when I felt this country was doomed to dark ages, but now am content , we can see the light at the end of the tunnel - what quite a few
lack is the willingness to walk that last mile; #JaiHind

I’m torn on how to approach the idea of luck. I’m the first to admit that I am one of the luckiest people on the planet. To be born into a prosperous American family in 1960 with smart parents is to start life on third base. The odds against my very existence are astronomical.

I’ve always felt that the luckiest people I know had a talent for recognizing circumstances, not of their own making, that were conducive to a favorable outcome and their ability to quickly take advantage of them.

In other words, dumb luck was just that, it required no awareness on the person’s part, whereas “smart” luck involved awareness followed by action before the circumstances changed.

So, was I “lucky” to be born when I was—nothing I had any control over—and that I came of age just as huge databases and computers were advancing to the point where I could use those tools to write “What Works on Wall Street?” Absolutely.

Was I lucky to start my stock market investments near the peak of interest rates which allowed me to spend the majority of my adult life in a falling rate environment? Yup.
