On September 20, 2021, Charanjit Singh Channi was sworn in as Chief Minister of Punjab. He is a member of the KHANGRESS, but the party takes satisfaction in referring to him as a "Dalit." 1/n

 Isn't this the only qualification, and isn't this the kind of secularism that this party has imposed on the country for the past 74 years? 2/n
This leadership move, which comes just 4-5 months before the state polls, appears to be the death knell for the KHANGRESS party in Punjab. If KHANGRESS wins the polls, the way PCC president NS Sidhu has played the game, he may become a hit wicket. 3/n
Will Charanjit Singh Channi be so willing to hand over the Chief Ministership to NS Sidhu? Sidhu's "Dalit card" would end up being a Googly against his political ambitions. 4/n
It also shows that our blinkered politicians, of all stripes, are failing to grasp the rising socio-political trends in the "Globalised world of the Post-Information Era." 5/n
Individual aspirations and the emergence of the concept of "individualization," with its different versions, from individuals to groups to regions & religious factions, characterize the twenty-first century. Indians are currently the worst victims of the "me-first" syndrome. 6/n
I'm not convinced that people nowadays are ideologically devoted. People vote based on their own personal agendas and motivations. Family, community and regional relationships have all been shattered. 7/n
Nuclear families have ushered in the emergence of "islands of diversity" within religious, regional, and community structures. The new buzzwords of rising socio-political strategy are "self is supreme." 8/n
This is why all political parties use FREEBIES to entice voters. This was also visible in Punjab's new Chief Minister Charanjit Channi's post-swearing-in ceremonial press conference. He has promised farmers free energy and water. 9/n
Those who had their electricity disconnected due to non-payment of bills have been guaranteed reconnection. 10/n
Farmers get free power and water, students get free laptops, farmers get free gas cylinders, toilets are subsidized, and farmers get loan forgiveness. Isn't it a case of corruption? All state and federal governments are following this pattern. 11/n
There was, in reality, fierce competition. This is how governments waste taxpayers' money in the name of assisting " Dalits ", " ST ", and " OBC " people. 12/n
Consider the irony: on the one hand, our leaders, nay, our Constitution, talk about creating a CLASSLESS and CASTELESS society, while on the other, they talk about "Dalits" and SCs. How can a casteless society be created if such distinctions are maintained? 13/n
Isn't there a glaring contradiction between what we say and what we do? If you address a Dalit by his true caste, non-bailable warrants are issued —— but these "reservations" and lofty words keep it alive. 14/n
It's surprising to hear KHANGRESS members refer to Charanjit Channi as a " Dalit." It is regarded as a significant qualification; yet, his administrative abilities are not valued. 15/n
In fact, he is accused of throwing a coin to decide on a lecturer's position when serving as technical and higher education minister under Captain Amrinder Singh. If this is how he makes decisions, God help the KHANGRESS party and Punjab. 16/n
Many aspirants have been upset by the misunderstanding caused prior to his selection. The Jat-Sikh community may be dissatisfied. The KHANGRESS High Command chose him just for the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. Dalits r said to make up 32-33 percent of Punjab's population. 17/n
The ego of the Jat-Sikh community has been damaged by the KHANGRESS party, which is now quiet but will eventually erupt. 18/n
If KHANGRESS wins the next elections and NS Sidhu seeks to replace him as Chief Minister, things will get even worse. By endorsing Charanjit Channi as a "Night Watchman Chief Minister," KHANGRESS and NS Sidhu appear to have scored a self-goal.19/n
Bowling him out would be difficult. They all call him by his true caste in secret, and they must be insulting him as well. It is nothing more than India's double-faced politics.20/n
Please keep in mind that the POOR OF INDIA DO NOT VOTE FOR IDEOLOGY, but for MONEY. It just proves that there was a disconnect between what we said and what we did. It's no surprise that India is renowned as the "country of hypocrites." 21/n
We have a smile on our faces, but our minds are filled with curiosity. Our past bears witness to this. Only when we are slaves and dominated by outsiders are we well disciplined. That's the irony, isn't it? 22/22

Varaha (in Sanskrit : वराह)
is the third Avatar of Lord Vishnu, in the form of a Boar.


He appeared in order to defeat Hiranyaksha, a demon who had taken the Earth and carried it to the bottom of what is described as the cosmic ocean in the story.

The battle between Varaha and Hiranyaksha is believed to have lasted for a thousand years, which the former finally won.

Varaha carried the Earth out of the ocean between His tusks and restored it to its place in the Universe.

Vishnu married Prithvi (Bhudevi) in this avatar.

Varaha is depicted in art as either purely animal or as being anthropomorphic, having a boar's head on a man's body.

In the latter form He has four arms, two of which hold the wheel and conch-shell while the other two hold a mace, sword or lotus or make a gesture (or "mudra") of blessing.

The Earth is held between the boar's tusks.

Breathing the Proper Way!

When we are at peace and in harmony with ourselves and our surroundings, our breath is deep and in sync with nature. A tortoise takes very few breaths in a minute and is calm and lives a long life.

In anger or while working at a frenetic pace or breath is shallow. We hardly realize that such raid breaths put our nervous and circulatory systems to strain. A batsman faces a barrage of bouncers and short-pitched deliveries and

immediately we hear Sunil Gavaskar commenting take a few deep breaths to calm down. Is this because of his association with Satya Sai Baba? There apparently is a spiritual solution to every problem.

A little attention to the breath can lead us on to the path of good health. In Yoga, there are several variations of Pranayama or deep breathing techniques which have an indelible impact on our health.

'Treasure Gods' - Sangha Nidhi' and 'Padma Nidhi', Tirumala, Tirupati.

These are the two guards guarding the Wealth and Treasure of Lord Sri Venkateswara.

They are representatives of two treasures of Kubera, the God of Wealth.


One guard who is holding shangam (conch) on both the hands is known as Shanka Nidhi ('nidhi' means wealth).

On the other side, the guard who is holding Lotus flowers on both the hands is known as Padma nidhi.

Shangu is from the ocean which includes all types of wealth like pearls and corals.

Why shagam in his hand? Because shangam only gives the sound of 'omkaram'.

'Padmam' is the symbol of water sources in land like river, lakes, tanks etc. which is very important for all living beings.

As per the tradition, these guards are installed at the third entrance of the temple.

One enters the holy shrine after saluting the first protection threshold - Sankha Nidhi and Padma Nidhi.

Timur Lang, was the founder of Timurid Empire. He was born in April 1336 CE, somewhere in central asia.


During his reign, he conquered Persia, Egypt, Central Asia and emerged as the most powerful and heinous ruler. He was a religious fanatic like the rest of the Islamic invaders who tried to invade India.

Timur Lang decided to invade India in 1398 as he heard about India's splendid wealth and had a desire to conquer India which his ancestor Genghis Khan couldn't do.


After Firoz Shah's demise in1388, Delhi Sultanate was in a state of political turmoil.During this time, Timur sent his grandson Pir Mohammad to attack Indian front. He invaded Multan&was able to defeat Iqbal Khan's brother but when he met with resistance,he asked help from Timur.


Iqbal Khan secured his hold on Delhi under Muhammad Tughluq after Firoz Shah died.
Timur provided the required back-up to his grandson with 100000 men approx. Timur sacked and plundered all the cities coming in his way &later in October 1398 reunited with his grandson.

This is very unique temple as Shiva and Vishnu both are in the “linga” form in the same Garbhagriham. The Srikovil is in a circular pattern. Temple's Prathishta was done by Parasurama.


Mahadeva and Maha Vishnu in the same Srikovil is very rare Prathishta, but poojas are done separately Dhara is done to Maha Vishnu here. People suffering from “KAIVISHAM” and mental illness are fully cured on drinking a medicinal herb supplied by a nearby family here.


The root of the banyan tree around the Ayyappa Sannidhanam is said to have great powers for skin ailments.

Very ancient temple but was covered with forest for many years.

Vigrahams and it suddenly started bleeding. Later Devaprashnam was held and thus found out that these were murthy's of Shiva and Vishnu which was worshipped long back. And thus temple is constructed here.

Every now and then an idea sticks with me like that corner of tortilla chip that just won't go down your throat. It happened with SPARROWHAWK, which began as 40k of a YA story, died, and was reborn as a comic, thanks to @christopher_j_r and @boomstudios. And now... 2/

It's happening with THE WILLOWS, a short story that you'll see in @UncannyMagazine next year. This Southern Gothic horror story began as an attempt to sell my next Romance to @AbZurdity after the Blud books in 2014 or so. And she didn't buy it. Guess why? 3/

Turns out, it wasn't a Romance! It was Southern Gothic Horror. Even the bones of it screamed strangeness, not sexiness. I loved the taste of the world, but I hadn't found the right story yet. Tried to write it 2 more times and failed. Until I finally understood what it was. 4/

So I took the 50 pages I'd written and cut half of them, twisting the story around from a gothy Romance inspired by the band the Civil Wars and turned it into a spooky descent into madness. And it looked back at me from the abyss as if to say, DUH. Sometimes... 5/

1. I was walking in the woods yesterday and I had an epiphany. It wasn’t one I wanted to have. I was thinking about today’s class, where we are reading Kimmerer’s ‘Gathering Moss’. I’ve taught Braiding Sweetgrass in multiple classes every year since 2016. It’s eminently teachable

2. Both books are beautifully written. Students uniformly enjoy them as assigned reading. They do a great job communicating to non-Indigenous folks the contours of basic Indigenous relationships to more-than-human beings. They’re wildly popular with white readers.

3. I’ve found Braiding Sweetgrass to be a great entry point for non-Indigenous folks to Indigenous scholarship. But this is where yesterday’s epiphany comes in. Neither Braiding Sweetgrass or Gathering Moss tends to the deep deep lineages of Indigenous scholarship in Canada or US

4. As the popularity of ‘Braiding Sweetgrass’ has soared, I’ve seen more and more white folks wax on about ‘braiding knowledge’. But they often don’t know any of the lineages of these concepts beyond what is presented in this one book. They confidently run with this.

5. Kimmerer does a commendable job of weaving in her own experiences, her family stories+nods to some very important knowledge keepers who deserve to be celebrated for their work. But Braiding Sweetgrass does not tend to the citational politics Sara Ahmed & others teach us about

Ahilyabai Holkar was one of India's
greatest women rulers of all time.

Ahilyabai was Born on May 31,1725 in the village of Chondi,Jamkhed distt,Maharashtra to a man named Mankoji Shinde,who was the Patil(Chief) of a village and a member of proud Dhangar Community.


Despite the fact that girls' education was a farther dream in those days, Ahilyabai was homeschooled by her father.
Ahilya didn't belong to any royal family but in a twist of fate she is still remembered as one of the most revered Queen in the history.


While they were living their humdrum lives, one day Malhar Rao Holkar, commander of the Peshwa Bajirao & Lord of the Malwa stopped in Chondi on his way to Pune, where he couldn't help but notice a young 8yrs old Ahilyabai in the temple service feeding the poor & hungry.

He was so impressed by the sheer innocence&beauty with simplicity character of Ahilyabai dat he asked her hand in marriage for his son Khanderao Holkar.Just like that she got married to Khanderao in 1733 at a tender age of 8&became a bride of esteemed Maratha community of Holkars

But destiny had something else in store for her as her husband died in the Battle of Kumbher in 1754 leaving her widow at 29.Distressed Ahilyabai was to commit Sati when her father-in-law Malhar Rao refused to let it happen.
