A thread about Bhagawan Vishnu's Lotus.

Bhagawan Vishnu holds the lotus in his bottom left hand. It represents spiritual liberation, divine perfection, purity and the unfolding of Spiritual consciousness within the individual.

This Lotus is considered as the 6 transcendental powers, namely :-

1. Jnana - Spiritual knowledge
2. Shakthi - Power
3. Bala - Strength
4. Aishvarya - Wealth
5. Virya - Potency
6. Tejas - Splendour

Bhagawan Vishnu is often called as Padmanabhaswami. It means the person who owns(Swami) a navel(nabhi) which upholds a lotus(padm). From this Nabhi's lotus, Bhagawan Brahma was born. In Tamil, we used to call it as நாபிக்கமலம்( Nabhikkamalam).

The lotus is a symbol of creation. The energy which emanates from Vishnu’s navel, that is from the PARA mode of speech is depicted as a lotus.

What is Para?

Para is referred to as OMKAR or ADIBIJA( The Primal Seed). Para is the ultimate stage of the seeker practicing chanting.

This energy of creation is not derived from Vishnu alone but from the union of Vishnu and Lakshmi.

The lotus in Bhagawan Vishnu’s hand represents that He can endow the highest spiritual experience from the Path of Yoga.

The thread about Lord Venkateshwara Perumal who borrowed money from Kuberan.

Lord borrowed money for his marriage with Maa Padmavati. The loan amount was about 1.4 Millions in Ramamudra coins.

The loan was given under the condition that the borrower must make an own promissory note all by himself.

This is the promissory note. The words in this note are dictated by Lord Brahma and Lord Venkateshwara wrote this by himself.

Following is the meaning of the text in promissory note : -

" This, the 7th day of the bright-fortnight of the month of Vyshaka in Kali Yug. The debtor is Lord Srinivasa, the creditor is Dhaneshwara. Purpose : Marriage of the loanee.

Amount of Loan fourteen lakhs in Ramamudra coins. The loanee should repay it with interest in one thousand years after the loanee’s marriage.”

Here, this one thousand years is mentioned in Deva Loka time and not in Bhuloka time.

Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva attested this note.

After accepting this note, Kubera paid the amount in Ramamudra coins.

Also, Lord Srinivasa requested Kubera to purchase and get all the articles and material required for the marriage.

SHIVA AND VISHNU ARE THE SAME. THIS WAS MENTIONED IN THE SKANDOPANISHAD.

"sivasya hridayam vishnuh, vishnOscha hridayam shivah. yathA shivamayO vishnurEvam vishnumaya shivah”

What does the word, "Chidabhasa" mean?

In Sanskrit, Chidabhasa translates to 'reflection of Brahman' or universal self. According to Hindu philosophy, the self can be divided into the individual (jiva) and the universal (brahman).

A thread about Prithu, The King of Earth!

Long back there was a King called Anga from Dhruva's lineage. Anga was a religious person and followed the righteous paths. His wife's name was Sunitha, daughter of Mrityu. Mrityu was famous for his evil ways and deeds.

Anga and Sunitha had a son called Vena. Vena was grownup with Mrityu and picked up with evil sides. He gave up all the religious activities that which mentioned in the Vedas and stopped all the Yajnas. He commanded his Praja to worship him and not other Gods.

All the sages visited Rishi Marichi and told these incidents. Marichi accepted to meet Vena along with Sages. After reaching Marichi's place, Marichi asked Vena to become a good person and follow religious path by explaining the bad deeds done by him.

But Vena didn't listen to the words of Rishi. All the sages became angry killed him, Vena was in the verge of death. Sages and Rishi Marichi decided to churn his body. They started churning the right thigh of Vena, from their, a horrible creature emerged.

It was in dark color. He had coppery hair, red eyes & was of short stature. Sage Atri was shocked after seeing this dwarf. The Sages asked the Dwarf to "Nishida" which means "Sit". By that, the dwarf was called as Nishada. This Dwarf Nishada, was Vena's sins.

greatest women rulers of all time.

Ahilyabai was Born on May 31,1725 in the village of Chondi,Jamkhed distt,Maharashtra to a man named Mankoji Shinde,who was the Patil(Chief) of a village and a member of proud Dhangar Community.

Despite the fact that girls' education was a farther dream in those days, Ahilyabai was homeschooled by her father.
Ahilya didn't belong to any royal family but in a twist of fate she is still remembered as one of the most revered Queen in the history.

While they were living their humdrum lives, one day Malhar Rao Holkar, commander of the Peshwa Bajirao & Lord of the Malwa stopped in Chondi on his way to Pune, where he couldn't help but notice a young 8yrs old Ahilyabai in the temple service feeding the poor & hungry.

He was so impressed by the sheer innocence&beauty with simplicity character of Ahilyabai dat he asked her hand in marriage for his son Khanderao Holkar.Just like that she got married to Khanderao in 1733 at a tender age of 8&became a bride of esteemed Maratha community of Holkars

But destiny had something else in store for her as her husband died in the Battle of Kumbher in 1754 leaving her widow at 29.Distressed Ahilyabai was to commit Sati when her father-in-law Malhar Rao refused to let it happen.

'Treasure Gods' - Sangha Nidhi' and 'Padma Nidhi', Tirumala, Tirupati.

These are the two guards guarding the Wealth and Treasure of Lord Sri Venkateswara.

They are representatives of two treasures of Kubera, the God of Wealth.

One guard who is holding shangam (conch) on both the hands is known as Shanka Nidhi ('nidhi' means wealth).

On the other side, the guard who is holding Lotus flowers on both the hands is known as Padma nidhi.

Shangu is from the ocean which includes all types of wealth like pearls and corals.

Why shagam in his hand? Because shangam only gives the sound of 'omkaram'.

'Padmam' is the symbol of water sources in land like river, lakes, tanks etc. which is very important for all living beings.

As per the tradition, these guards are installed at the third entrance of the temple.

One enters the holy shrine after saluting the first protection threshold - Sankha Nidhi and Padma Nidhi.
