“100 days of Slaughter”, since people were butchered, raped, & looted for about a hundred days by their own brethren. This took place in the year 1994 (32 years after independence).

The reason why this Genocide is important to understand is not because of the role of France in

it, but because of the role of ‘Atrocity literature’. Those who do not understand what is this atrocity literature need not worry, I’ll explain it later.

Now, there are three groups of people that live in Rwanda: Hutu, Tutsi, & Tawa.
Now, after the First World War (1919),

Christian missionaries started writing their history since they thought that the native oral history was a mere ‘myth’.
This is what they started teaching to the people (roughly):

“The Tawa are the indigenous people of Rwanda, who were hunter-gatherers; then came the Hutu from

North, who cleared all the Jungles, displaced all the natives & then settled in this country; then came the Tutsis from the north again, who were superior in warfare, & therefore, they displaced everyone & settled down in Rwanda”

Now, in 1930, Belgians (the then colonizers of Rwanda) started registering their subjects as ‘Tutsis’, Tawas’, & ‘Hutus’. This created a divide among the population that was so far indifferent to their demographics.
This kind of (baseless) history was taught to the students even

after independence (1962), & the result was a yawning division among the subjects.
Then came the French & other European powers. They made sure to install a person of minority community (Tutsi) in power. As @dentesLeo says: “Install a member of the minority community in power to

make sure he is dependent on the foreign installers to keep the power, & not on his own subjects” (maybe he deleted that tweet).
In 1959, Hutus killed about 30,000 Tutsis because of their position in the administration, education, money, status, etc.

In 1961, a Hutu President

was chosen by the people (he was backed by France BTW) in general elections of the country, & was subsequently killed in 1994 (nobody knows by whom), but the enraged community put the blame on Tutsis.
Then it started, about a million Tutsis were killed: beheaded, raped,

looted, & the murders were celebrated as some war. Hutu extremists even urged people on the radio (the infamous Radio Rwanda) to “weed out the cockroaches [Tutsis]”
Now, I want the reader to stop for a moment & think about the Aryan Invasion theory. Are we not told the same thing

again & again? (For those who don’t know what is this theory, see the first image in this tweet).

These are not some exceptions or rare cases. I have seen such idiots in my University as well.

Why do you think that this will not lead to some civil unrest in the country?

Remember, 1/10th of

the Rwandan population was wiped in this Genocide. If the same thing happens in India, how many Hindus will be killed? Gods forbid, Millions is the answer!

Note: I think I need to write clear cut what is 'Atrocity literature'.

It is a kind of literature that is used to justify atrocities (foreign rule in such cases).
Think about it! Europeans basically told the natives that our rule is not 'foreign' because all of us are foreigners
