Few know that Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy chose to remain in India Post Partition and become the leader of the muslims of West Bengal, Bihar & Orissa. He organised conferences in numerous cities but eventually forced to leave the country and move to Pakistan. Article - Nov 7, 1947
Those claiming the Muslim league vanished after August 15, 1947 are absolutely wrong. The Muslim league was very much present and active in the immediate post partition era. Here is an article from Nov 5th , 1947, of the United Provinces Muslim League. Muslim league was active.

Congress tried it's level best (and succeeded) in disrupting the plan of Suhrawardy (which was to make sure the Muslim League continued in post partition West Bengal & Bihar)
